Just an FYI for any viewers out there, I used the reaper VST's just like in this video, but I used them on Wave Link for my Wave 3. Amazing video bro!
    My 2c from someone who works with mics a audio gear every day.
    You can make a low budget sound amazing simply by correcting the acoustics in your room. (Carpet, curtains etc) proper acoustic treatment would go a long way.
    Getting closer to the mic will help bring more focus to your voice rather than reverberation from the room.
    A little eq will go a long way. Don't boost too much high end or cut too much bass.
    Don't over compres your voice. Yes it sounds nice and evens out the voice but it comes at the cost of bringing up room noise.
    Hope this helps someone out.

    Great video! But, what happen if I'm using RTX Voice?

    Greetings from Nicaragua.

    • @RiccardoLulli
      @RiccardoLulli 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it works the same, you just have to apply the filters to the audio output of RTX Voice.
      Be aware though, RTX Voice impacts audio quality, use it only if you can't remove the noise from your environment.

    • @Cynical_Finch
      @Cynical_Finch 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Follow the steps shown in this video & stop using RTX Voice. RTX Voice is Noise Suppression, which is an alternative to Noise Gate, though not as good in terms of sound quality. Never ever use Noise Suppression and Noise Gate together. Use one or the other, with the approach of Noise Suppression being you last resort desperate measure to eliminate background noise. And if you feel you absolutely prefer Noise Suppression instead of Noise Gate, the don't use RTX Voice. Use the ReaFir plugin that is part of the Reaper Plugin package. Watch Frugal Streamer's video on how to set up ReaFir properly. It's super easy.

    But wait. Does this only apply when recording with only the microphone as your output? Because when you stream using wavelink, you output from one source to have full control of all your audio sources while streaming.
    Sooo..wouldn't adding filters on OBS also apply them on all your other audio sources linked to the wavelink software?
    Kind of ruins the purpose of trying to get better sounding audio AND using the wavelink software while streaming

    • @benchtophobbies8332

      I would suggest muting your microphone in the wavelink software completely. Then from wavelink send all other sounds to your streaming software. Then in your streaming software, add your mic as its own source. This will then allow you to add filters to the mic and not change the incoming wavelink sounds. Hope this helps.

    As an Audio Engineer & Producer of 20 years, I can honestly say that the dumbest thing that has taken over streamers & content creators is how ignorant they've become thinking they need to spend $500 - $5000 on a mic and audio set up. 99% of the time in your content, you're just talking. You're not Chester Bennington or Mariah Carey, so stop spending money on audio gear as if you are. Every streamer & youtuber that has blown money on an SM7B (or better) & a GoXLR mixer has literally thrown money away & bought into audio snake oil. Honestly, if any of them new just the bare basics of audio engineering, they'd all have buyers remorse & feel insanely dumb. Unless your content/streams are centered around music production, there's factually no reason to spend more than $300 on your entire audio set up; Mic, Interface (or not if mic is usb), cables, mic stand, & filters (pop or wind). $300 max, all in. Could even be done for less than that. Don't be dumb about it. there are literally 20+ amazing youtube channels that are devoted to educating audio noobs on basic audio engineering practices, all of which are easy to find. Spend 30 mins watching some of their tutorials & save your self $Hundreds, if not $Thousands.

      This. I own a Blue Yeti, A Samson G-Track Pro, and Two Mini DSP UMIK-1's. Everyone I voice chat with says the UMIK-1 sounds better than both those mics. The UMIK-1 is cheaper, smaller, and has multiple uses (since it's actually a measurement microphone.). I've had an XLR Mic + Interface in the past, but USB is the way to go.
