  • Four mates set out on their adventure bikes for a weekend of rolling around the Mid North area of South Australia. We have our lead rider John on his Triumph Tiger, Lou on a Suzuki DR 650, Wayne another Suzuki DR 650 and me on my Yamaha Tenere 700. In this episode we travel from Hahndorf to Burra South Australia for out first night before we venture further to Hallett (Part 2) and then onto Peterborough which will be in Part 3.
On a most direct drive route this would take you only just over two hours, but we do it in over 9. So join us on our casual ride along as many dirt roads that we can find.

Twice I've ridden up to that spot on Webb Gap, and twice I've turned back :) I was hoping to see you tackle it!😄

I will do it when my leg is better, it did not seem overly hard.

@@HardPackedADV Agreed. Both times I was with others not equipped to tackle it

Don't know the steep bit and as always the camera flattens it..a bit like Maple track ?

Yes a bit like Maple Lane. Wayne said that if you can do Maple Lane yo can do this, but I would not do it if it was a bit wet.

    Gday mr Hard.
Would you mind telling me what road that steep bit was on please?
I’ve done a DIT of that area myself but not sure I’ve seen that one.

I rode that gap a couple of weeks ago by myself.
It was dry so I just paddled down the hill and it was fine.
Just needed to commit and let gravity do it’s job.
I was on road tyres and fairly lightly loaded.
The valley at the end is a really nice ride and worth the effort, although I was heading south and it comes out near Kapunda.
A good way to go to avoid the bitumen if your heading back to Adelaide through the Centre.
