Do it just about every year with a group, love it. Never had a problem with the bike and we’ve had some rough trips. Seeing this vlog has got me excited for our Feb trip next year. Thanks 👍
Hello Martin; Thanks for sharing the experience of travelling on the boat to Tas...all good information. Safe Travels. David.....Adelaide...Triumph Scrambler 1200X.....
Im heading across from Tas again soon. I appreciate that the crew tie down a lot of bikes and most are good, but it only takes one to bugger it up for all. I had an issue last trip where they squeezed the front brake on so tight it locked in place. Not a good start to a trip. Complaint went nowhere, I now have some handgrip locks for our bikes Key operated so will be putting them on in future. Luckily thats my only issue to date but have had others i know with bent bars etc....
I’ve done it and it’s very smooth. Just be prepared to get down to your bike at the end of the trip to undo the tie downs in plenty of time to disembark
Awesome stuff - coming over from WA in September so it was great to see the process. Apart from the waiting game to get onboard it all seems to run smoothly.
2:10 had to smile where the guy is asking about firearms and fruit in the same category but I remembered this is Australia. I had to throw an apple out of my bag getting off at Hobart airport once.
Nice one Marty. I've only taken a car across before (as per my Whiparound 3 The Apple Isle video) and wondered about the safety of bikes. I didn't notice you mentioning the cost of transporting a bike across, unless I wasn't paying attention. Was it expensive?
A word of warning in tie downs with the Aprilia Tuareg 660. The handlebars must not be used to tie the bike down. It will ruin the VERY expensive "Fly by wire" throttle unit. It was never designed to be used as a lashing anchor. It also puts a bending force into the front wheel. Hundreds of owners have had to replace their front wheels for many other reasons but this is an avoidable one.

@CraigZilko The staff were excellent. And don’t feel like you’re being rushed as there’s plenty of time. Thanks for watching.

Motorbike, $90 AUD each way.

Thanks, that's good info to know.
A$400 RETURN😢
Yep, way out of my price range too :( . I can go a long way on $400 worth of fuel in the bike.
