If leaving on 25th, make sure to get to Canberra to the War Memorial and museum. 25th April is ANZAC Day, a very special day for our fallen military personnel and their families. It starts with a dawn service.
I’m an Aussie teacher and I just taught my kids about the Emu War a few weeks ago, initially the kids didn’t believe me either … I’m really enjoying your videos . Such nice Americans .
I've seen so many videos of the standard backpacker route (Melbourne/ Sydney/ Gold Coast), that it's genuinely refreshing to see an outsiders perspective on the more quintesential parts of the country, the parts that Aussies put on their own bucket lists. You're also very good at making an entertaining vlog. Look forward to much more.
@@iggyblitz8739 As an Adelaidean it does wake up in autumn, our best season. Not too hot, not too cold, but also not spring which alternates between cold, hot and stormy. Autumn is consistent, the best time to visit.
If you come to Adelaide again and you like museums, you should go to Port Adelaide. There is the national railway museum, maritime museum, aircraft musem and military vehicle museum all within a reasonable walking distance along with some fine heritage buildings throughout the port. On the port river they have boat tours and you may see some dolphins. I can attest to this as having done all of them as an Adelaide born/living citizen.
Make sure you stop in Mt Gambier on your way to Victoria! We just did a lap of Australia and it was one of our favourite spots. Look up the sinkhole gardens and the blue lake. And don’t miss the Scroll Queens bakery 😊
I never thought about Australia as a destination before but you guys make it look way more awesome through the exposure you've given it. Not a huge nature person but wow the huge variety in landscapes that seem alien is really cool
Check out Kangaroo Island, off the coast of South Australia, if you’re interested in diverse landscapes, as despite its name, it’s not just about the wildlife, though that’s pretty impressive. There’s stunning beaches - with Stokes Bay named best in the world for 2023 - unusual rock formations - such as Remarkable Rocks - craggy cliffs and wonderful walks - including Admiral’s Arch - great wineries, talented artists and artisans, delicious locally made honey along, with all manner of food treats and much, much more! Hope you get to visit someday.
Oh I’m so glad you enjoyed Cleland, it’s mine and my daughters favourite wildlife park. I’m born and bred in Adelaide SA and love my state. We are definitely underrated but I like that we’re a bit of a hidden gem. Enjoy your time in Australia 🇦🇺
Glad to see you both enjoyed the National Park!! But Adelaide is known as the City of Churches. And also a little fun fact: Echinas and Platypus are the only two mammals in the world that lay eggs.
Our Home City!! So glad you guys enjoyed yourself there, it's an absolute gem. Also a big fan of Chevs accent when you said 'Melbourne' at 15:23 sounded like a local!
echidnas are almost like a spikey wombat only a bit lower to the ground and wombats can move quite quickly when they want to also wombats not so good for the front of the car when driving at speed (generally moreso found in places like mount kosiosko (new south wales ski area)

I really love how, when you have a longer time in a country, you really get into the spirit of the places you visit. I think the best example was when you were in Thailand but Australia is a close second. I will be following you until to have completed this world odyssey, which maybe/ hopefully will never end. You are such engaging people that it is a joy to travel with you. Thank you so much.
WOW...That postcard Tia or the both of you done of the Great Australian Bight and the cliffs was absolutely gorgeous.Very talented 👏🏻 Enjoy our beautiful country. Your gonna love Tassie. There'll be plenty of postcard material when you get down there.Cheers.✌️
The parklands surrounding Adelaide served as a line of defence against enemy cannon fire. The Adelaide CBD is a square mile, (North Terrace to South Terrace, West Terrace to East Terrace), and the original parklands were a mile deep on all sides, providing the perfect distance to evade the range of the enemy's cannons at the time of settlement. It's good to see that you enjoyed your time here.
What a great vid! So much fun seeing all the joy visiting with the animals brought to Tia - very sweet. And that postcard looks professionally done - very talented! Glad you are staying down under a little longer - looking forward to more fun adventures! ☀️

The Mediterranean climate is something special, and you don’t find it in many places, mainly the Mediterranean region, California, and parts of South Australia. If you’ve never lived in it, it’s hard to explain. The air feels so fresh, and you get plenty of sunshine without that heavy, sticky humidity. It’s just a really comfortable way to live. I grow up in a similar climate and am now suffering in Canada. Wish me luck mate. Amazing video by the way, you made my day, thank you very much.
Tia is just like one of those super cute little puppies where, when it is excited, the tail wags the dog. She gets excited with her whole body. So contagious and fun to watch. PS, if I haven't insulted you too much, I'd love a postcard please. *^^*
I was homesick at about 90 seconds into this video, and it just kept on going, Adelaide has a definite feel about it that I think is unique in Australia

The joy emanates from Tia being so happy seeing our local Aussie animals! Glad you guys got to visit a sanctuary, its so great and they look after the animals so well. Wonderful drawing also Tia! Be sure to explore the Adelaide Hills, Hahndorf and the wine country if that's your thing!
You two are so much fun to watch and your smiles light up my tv screen. Tia your face when you held that Koala in your arms was magical. Looking forward to the rest of your travels and when you return to amazing Australia.
How great is that little bounce in Tia’s step when she is excited about something, reminds me of all the history Tia saw In Japan finally after studying about it. The postcard looks amazing Tia weld one on creating your own. Can’t wait to see what’s next for you guys with the great ocean road exploration.
This series of videos has been a great watch. Never gets old watching peoples reactions when they meet the local wild life. Mount lofty summit and cleland wildlife park are two of my favourite spots as a local, those & the wine regions! Best Adelaide promo I've seen tbh, thanks for sharing your experiences guys
I love reading the comments and seeing all of the other people from here in South Australia and Adelaide. I saw part of my route to work in this video, so that was kind of exciting to see from someone else's perspective. Makes me wonder now if I ever saw them on my way to work and didn't think anything of them, not realising they were Americans travelling, and filming for TH-cam.

when you are down in melbourne, you must go to philip island and see the penguin parade, every night they come in from the sea and head to their burrows, you can sometimes get very close to them later in the car park, great experience getting to see wild penguins
Tia's a very talented artist, clearly! Great to see an outsider's view of hometown Adelaide. If you have time I'd recommend diverting through the Grampians en-route to Melbs. Also the bottle-o at the Royal Oak Hotel in Penola has a spectacular collection of the local Coonawarra wines, many of them much older than you find regularly on the shelves.
Tia, the postcard looks great. You've got a real talent there so yes, keep making them. But the BIGGEST news for me has to be that Blueberry's got some wheel covers on again. Nice.
Dingos are actually friendly to people and can be interacted with in a controlled environment. I've been to such place ones and it's one of the most unforgettable things I've experienced. I regret watching it only now and realize you missed it (there's a really nice wildlife park with dingoes you can come into contact with). Next time be sure to do this!
I love this. I did all the animal experiences at Melbourne Zoo- it literally made my heart soar. I know how you feel Tia!! The echidnas are super cute! Keep up the grouse work guys!
Great video as always. You guys should start from Cairns and drive across the top to Darwin then to Broome/Karratha when you come back. Completely different experience to drive across the top of Aus compared to the bottom

My home town too! Adelaide has one of the largest population of British decendants in Australia and also a large German culture (especially in Hahndorf in the Adelaide hills - near the Cleland wildlife park).
You’re leaving April 25th? That is ANZAC day. The most iconic and revered day of the year in Australia and New Zealand. Such a shame that you will miss experiencing probably the most important day on the Aussie calendar. Tia’s postcard - did you design/draw that yourself? I’m very impressed. Lovely artwork.
Lovely to have you here in our humble city of Adelaide. Glad the weather's turning it on for you both. As you head south on your journey drop into the coastal town of Robe. Great place for a walkabout.
As a South Australian, this video is epic
If you ever get back SA way, come to the Eyre Peninsula, so much wild coastal Blueberry accessible country and kangaroos :)
@@justiceO8149 don’t worry, I went there just a couple months ago, it’s stunning

Tia's happiness at the animal park reached 11/10 😀I'm glad you had such a great experience.
The kangaroo was pretty happy when it was eating out of the bag too, judging by its raging boner.
Adelaide is definitely my favourite Australian city. It still feels like a country town. It is comfortably walkable and has the most amazing vibe.
Yet it's not a country town, a small city with all the facilities of a capital city.
Am from Sydney, moved to Adelaide, never going back, lifestyle is good.

Great to see happy people like you guys. Best wishes and enjoy your journeys.
Looks like an amazing place. Tia you are a fabulous artist.
You joy and excitement is very infectious, really enjoying your Aussie content guys 🦘
My home town too! Adelaide has one of the largest population of British decendants in Australia and also a large German culture (especially in Hahndorf in the Adelaide hills - near the Cleland wildlife park).
Great to see you both enjoying your time in Oz. Tia your happiness and smile are so infectious. Safe travels. By the way Adelaide is my home town
Loving your channel. Glad you enjoyed the Nullabor - an epic drive. Safe travels. Cheers from Brissie (Brisbane!) 😊
Lovely to have you here in our humble city of Adelaide. Glad the weather's turning it on for you both.
As you head south on your journey drop into the coastal town of Robe. Great place for a walkabout.
