With the use of the square mount how easy is it to remove the unit from the bike, for antitheft purposes?
Hola tengo transalp 750 2024 noce como conectar los faros antiniebla tiene unas condiciones en los laterales pero no ay corriente. Aver si me podeis alludar
Great video thanks ...can you tell me what's mount you got for the windscreen plz
The mount was ordered from Aliexpress: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007261533901.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.1.71bbAN5zAN5zll&algo_pvid=9b366011-2e74-493d-bb53-bab1058cf84b&algo_exp_id=9b366011-2e74-493d-bb53-bab1058cf84b-0&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21AUD%2148.89%2113.69%21%21%21226.34%2163.38%21%402101ec1f17326540465608388e056f%2112000039984150649%21sea%21AU%214428901531%21X&curPageLogUid=22uvqbyt2MHQ&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A
@HardPackedADV thank you so much , just ordered 😃
Great video! Just one comment about the rounded Allen keys - most of the Allen screws on the bike have shallower heads so the rounded ends don't engage as deeply. Ok if it's a screw that isn't too tight, but for the larger ones, you could have problems.
Thank you for this information.
Just about to pull the trigger on these lights are yours still going well with no issues? (Same bike)
@@slugslugster9338 yes going well, no issues at all.
Nobody rides them in the rain on you tube. You should try it and let me know… I keep sliding in front and rear… so dangerous ! Lost all my confidence in these when wet roads
Did you do the ADV rides?
Yes I did the ride on Saturday.
@@HardPackedADV Any video coming out of the ride? Would be nice to see. Thanks
Yeah mate, I got some footage, but not a lot as I was having audio issues, but I will put it together.
What a stunning looking day you had - suck a photogenic sky to compliment the awesome scenery. I have never done Jacobs ladder despite having done five motorbike tours of Tassie... my GSX/R1000 is not the weapon of choice for such a road 😄 Great video and thoroughly enjoyed it - thanks
Thank you, very much appreciated.
looks like fun
Done this on a CB500x,but what gets me is the dealers don’t tell you that the bike has auxiliary sockets for accessories and where they’re located.
es true, probably because that they want to install them.
Thanks! Used a paper clip - worked fine 🙂
Glad it helped!
Nice
It will do anything this bike . Don't worry She's the best Allround for us normal everyday people people who want to try anything and come Home Ive been to the Pyrenees with mine and done now 8000km no probs. Greetings from an Aussie in France 🤪🤘😊
The “problem” I see with the screen interacting with the water, is whether it will do this whilst riding in rain? Could be annoying if you are lost and navigating to a location and the screen start flickering to music?
From my experience, this is normal behavior. The flickering and changes occur because the screen is touch-sensitive to heat. Touchscreens work by detecting concentrated warmth at a specific point, like the tip of a glove. Many glove manufacturers embed metal fibers in the fingertips to enhance their sensitivity to temperature changes compared to the rest of the glove. You can try it with your touch-sensitive phone; the effect is similar. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks!
Anyone aware of someone doing a similar test for the KLR650 or 800DE? Having some actual data points on these is valuable.
Takes all the joy away from riding a bike
Dont be daft, its an aid u dont have to keep looking at it
Hi from Germany and like. I have a question. I also drive a Transalp 750 and have the same navigation mount as you. Does the navigation system (Carpuride W702) wobble on your mount while driving or not?
There is a slight wobble, but this is more due to the low quality of the Aliexpress mount bar that I have usd. If the cross bar was designed to be stiffer then there would not be any wobble from the unit, you would only see the ups and down which are relevant to the bike's suspension/travel on the road, ie same movement as the main display. The actual mount on the unit is quite secure and stable.
@@HardPackedADV Many thanks!
Good video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, very much appreciated. I am sitting down with a nice coffee and watching your videos.
@@HardPackedADVJust subbed to your channel!
Same, same, thanks.
If I activated the alaram and it is making the big noise, how much time it will make noise? There is limit time? Or it will alaram until i will unlock it?
10 seconds
I have a Chigee AIO5 lite - a very similar unit and have been very impressed. I’ve now sold my Garmin and investing my time in using this. 2000kms done and haven’t looked back. Be interesting to see them side-by-side to compare.
I am happy to meet up with you and do a comparison of the units.
Does it still work after it's wash ?
yes for sure.
Not a bad bit of kit. Nice review Marty.
Thanks!
I can see one of these or similar going into your ute, mabe too much high tech for the old Ford.
Thanks Martin, This is a game changer for Adv Riders; It also saves the phone as I damaged an iPhone because of the vibrations from the handlebar position ; David...Adelaide....Triumph Scramblers 1200X and 900....
I know what you mean. My phone has seen better days from being on the handlebars.
I've been using the Carpuride on my Transalp and quite like it. This upgraded version has some nice features. Thanks for the review!
Glad you are enjoying it!
Hi there, If I want to connect the Givi S322 in a similar way, the only parts I probably need are the sumitomo plugs is that correct? Thanks a lot.
Yes I believe that that is correct, or use a small wire to join the two plug ports. If the engine light remains on, ride the bike for about an hour with turning the bike on and off a few times and sometimes the "check engine" light will turn off.
Is this because of the Givi lights specifically or you had similar issues with the engine light? Thanks
Not specific to the Givi lights.
Has any body seen single Trail in the Grampians?
I am not sure of any single trails in the Grampians, plenty of good tracks to ride on.
Off subject,- if a Aprilia Dealership is reasonably close by, give their 660 Adventure motorcycle a look. It might be the multi- use cycle you’re seeking.🇺🇸😎👍
Thanks for sharing ; a good day out with the Son. Safe Travels; David....Adelaide....Triumphs 1200X and 900....for the ride....
Cam is doing well for a Learner. In the blood lol. Hey, is it harder going up or down a sandy hill?
Up or down. Generally up is harder, but in saying that if you struggle to control your bike on the decent the front tends to wash out.
Good to see the young fella out and about, and taking on some sandy stuff. Those little Vstroms are a terrific option for those new to adv riding. Few locals up here have, and love, them. 👍
Yes they are!
I've heard, seen and read a lot of good reports about the 250. What does your son think of it as I'm interested in getting one for dirt roads?
It is not his bike, he is looking for something like a DRZ or a CFMoto450. It's Very suited to someone who has short legs. This Vstrom has the lower seat fitted to it, he would have been better with the standard seat. All in all we a very happy with it.
@@HardPackedADV Thanks
I've heard these tires cause issues with the quickshifter?
Hi, I have not heard that. I can't see how they would. But I am interested in hearing about any issues.
Nice video. I have a 2024 and find the front suspension to be too bouncy as it bob's up / down when I come to a stop in town at a stop light or stop sign or over irregularities on the road. I am considering the Motoz Tractionator GPS or Adventure tires once I get rid of the Metzeler Karoo Street original tires here in N. America that are rate 70% street 30% off-road but they are not good off-road. From my research you, we could get up to +20,000 kms out of the GPS tires. Motoz tires have stiff sidewalls and are stiff overall which really helps avoid punctures which I like.
Add a few turns of preload to the front fork
To each his own. Your money, your preference. Live your life!
Thank you, nice simple video , happy safe riding
Thanks, you too!
Great comparison, especially for the everyday type of riding. There's no right bike for everyone. Enjoy the TransAlp.
Yes no right bike for anyone. I like to change bikes evert few years. So far all the bikes that I have had have been great.
Nice one mate, what an awesome line up of bikes!
Yes it was a good line up, with lots of variety of big and Mid sized ADV's.
277 days to go and every day will be a sneaky Thursday.. but who's counting :-) AS
Hello Martin; Well done to each and every Rider on this Thursday Ride. Why not? Relaxed time out and a mixed set of bikes. Thanks for sharing the personal about Depression and Anxiety. Yes I live with that each day and riding my bike is what helps me very much. Safe Travels. David ...Adelaide....Triumph Scrambler 1200X and 900.....
Wtf, doesn't anybody work anymore😱
what about that rear shock that everyone complains?
Yes it is soft, but I don't have any trouble with it, even when the bike is loaded with pannier bags and a top bag. I am 100kg.
why you didnt bought the vstrom800de?
I did consider a VStrom as I used to own a VStrom DL1000. But when I saw the Honda I decided that it was what I wanted. There's nothing wrong with the VStrom, a good bike.
So one beep means ready, but two beeps means it’s not activated or something?
@@uzi69jmillz15 yes one beep it is on, two it is off.
@@HardPackedADV legend. Thanks mate
Good to hear you are still enjoying your Transalp, and nice to recognise some familiar local roads (Longwood Rd). Still enjoying mine, now just over 18,000 kms, and have just gone to Pirelli Scorpion Rallys (third front and fourth rear). I would have run another set of STRs but they didn't have the fronts, but will probably go back to the STRs next time as they were better on the bitumen. Rallys are better on the dirt, naturally, but a heavier and stiffer carcass, and need lower pressures. I am not so phased by the tubed tyres, having not had a puncture on it yet (and never had one on my old Elefant 750 in over 50k kms). I seem to mainly get flats on my tubeless road bike. I have been getting about 6,500 kms from STR rears(2), and got over 11k from the STR front. I guess a cruise control would be useful police-wise, but I don't miss it, having not had one on a bike yet, although I use it a lot in the car! The suspension? Yes, it could use an upgrade, and my take on that is the low price ($15,740 on road in SA) leaves some $$ for that. I got the air deflectors thrown in with mine (first buyer at Moto Adelaide) and they do help a little with the wind, but they are dear if you have to buy them! The bear grip footrests better than the stockers, slightly lower and more comfortable, and much better for standing. I too have the B&B bashplate. But I really enjoy my Transalp. It has a subtle quality of an ease of riding, which seems to promote a sort of peace of mind which I am enjoying, and as you say - it allows us to head down any road that piques our curiosity. After 62 years of motorcycling this model is a great choice, and is capable of some reasonably rough terrain, as well as being great on the bitumen. Your actual 'all rounder'. Stops me going too fast on the Ducati... 😊
We should meet up for a ride on the Transalps.
@@HardPackedADV Good idea!
Nay for me. Reasons #1 Garbage suspension, #2 Low ground clearance, #3 High rev character, #4 Poor electronic interface, #5 Filter under the tank.
It is all in place what you say.Shaking on front and vibrating on handles.Seller is playing dumb on my complaints. And it is costly bike,11900€ for peace of crap.So sad that I had to be one .Honda ,you have to be ashame
You have all the answers, without a ride on one. Wow.
@RoryOConnor-t1b Wow is right, you're an 1d1ot. I waited 2 yrs to buy the Talp and put my deposit on one, test road one, and was mortified. Luckily, my dealer sells multiple brands, and I was able to transfer my deposit. Tested the T7 (good but not for me), AT (awesome but top heavy), Toureg (the best but don't trust it), finally discovered how good the 800DE was and went home with it. Got another chance to ride the Talp for a few hours on a group ride....couldn't wait to get off of it, and the Talp owner didn't want to get off my 800DE. I have three Hondas in my garage and love them. But they should be ashamed of themselves for the garbage of an adventure bike the Talp is. And I've said this many times, Honda already has better street and commuter bikes.
I bought a TA a month ago. Love it! Beats the beemer gs i had by a load. Thanks. Great vid and channel
