I've owned my previous gen V60 for two years now. It's been excellent so far -- quick, comfy, practical, safe, efficient, quiet, and relatively inexpensive. It is perhaps the best daily I could hope for.... eeeexxept for the fact I'm ITCHING for that third pedal.
I've been driving a 2022 V60 version of this car for almost a year and love love love it. It reminds me of what I used to like about BMWs: understated, purposeful, and athletic. The interior is such a gorgeous place to spend time and feels way less plastic-y and gimmicky than recent Audis and BMWs. As far as driving dynamics, I actually find it very fun and responsive, as long as everything is set to sport mode. Just crossing my fingers the supercharger doesn't crap out.
Reliability is very important for me so you've convinced me that this or any Volvo is for me. Your reviews are very thorough and you hit all of the key points. Great job!!
Volvo has been making beautiful, albeit understated cars since at least the 90's. The 850, the S40, S60, S80, XC90, V70, XC70, etc. I'm just not happy that they had to ditch their inline 5 and 6 engines (don't forget the Yamaha V8 in the S80 and XC90) for seemingly overstressed turbocharged and supercharged 4 cylinders with hybrid systems. While their cars are faster and more fuel efficient, they've become heavier and much more complex. Unfortunately that's where global auto tech is going.
I just leased the 2023 S 60 B5 Mild Hybrid Black Edition. I'm so happy with it, my dream car. I drove an S 80 from 06-19 and always missed my Volvo, now my Volvo and I are reunited again, my dream car.
@@SouthernBelle888 do you know anything about the lifespan of those batteries and how much it cost to replace? im thinking to buy a s60 b5 2023 here in germany.
@@asr1143 Sorry I don't. I leased my car here in Germany. If you lease the Vehicle it doesn't cost anything for the replacement or repair, then Volvo covers it. But thats a question, you have to ask a Volvo Dealership.
It was born in it! Fantastic ;) I have ordered a hybrid V60 because I like the console design much more. I have driven the V60 in denim now for 4 years and I am getting another one as mentioned as hybrid in vapour grey. That tells it all, I live in Germany and have no interest in BMW or Audi. BMW was never my design, Aufi is getting very old and never really changed and Mercedes is beautiful from the inside, reminding me on the 20s aero design, but the outside is ugly. Volvo may not be perfect but manages to fulfill outside and inside at around 80% for me. Just sovereign, stylish, elegant.
It's a fast sporty car. I love the steering i found was stiff, which you can change in its settings. Even at say 45mph it can still put you back in your seat if you gun it. Getting to highways speeds is a breeze. Honestly probably the fun'est car i've ever drove
The lack of ventilated seats is a deal breaker for me. I’m planning on upgrading my car in the next 1-1.5 years. My 22 Sonata Hybrid has ventilated seats for 15k less
This is the sweet spot from Volvo. The ergonomics and comforts are placed there with *safety* in mind, the design is modern without being overwrought, the price is reasonable for a "luxury" vehicle; it is restrained, civilized, and elegant. When you consider the competition, Volvo is distinctly *unpretentious* in its approach. PLUS it has gobs of horsepower. "Effortless" is the right word. Even the base model has tons of pull. This looks like a dope sedan and I would love to drive one. (P.S. -- My '07 S40 doesn't have any visible tailpipes, true story. This is not a new thing from Volvo.)
Hi, this Volvo s60 b5 is a beautiful car this has come out especially designed I liked the sinister dark theme however the interior is an ergonomic design seats are very comfortable but the drawback is a sluggish infotainment system is unintuitive and not fun to into mild hybrid trim 2.0L turbocharge rear and all wheel drive goes to 247 hp 258 pound feet of torque I will that nice if we go high Volvo S60 plug in hybrid option that will get huge above 5 hundred of some hp and torque but simultaneously msrp will increase overall this is upscale in my point of view thanks
Omg. ı bought this car 3 days ago. İ have a appointment today for that quality issues. İnfo system shut off completely. Nothing is working. AC,radio exc.. also left front left light not well inserted. Stand a bit front side.
Really like the squared-off design of these recent volvos. Shame the dynamics don't seem to be up there. The looks could pull off a European muscle or sports sedan.
A bit late maybe, but if you have the money and you like this design but want something truly sporty, get a polestar 1. 620 hp, similar design but more agressive, lots of carbon fiber.
@@markcoopers1930 I mean yeah, understandably, because there are so few. I recon it will probably go up in value again when it becomes a volvo/polestar classic, because of how rare it is and that it is the first polestar car. Would love to get my hands on one someday aswell.
LOVED my 2020 T6awd ... drove the new one, just like you i hated the new infotainment system, my pixel phone lost most functionality for some reason, even when wired (dealbreaker for work), i hated the paddle transmission in my xc40 prior the the s60, so that was ehh... then all the issues dealing with VCFS and the dealership (180 flip from prior purchases/leases) ended up having me shop for something else... g70, is350, m340i, a5/s4 .... ended up w the lexus even though it was slower because of the reliability, seat, and stereo. Really sad that the guy i had gotten 4 volvos from went from a great experience to utter buy here/pay here level of games and bs
Great looking car, but with its mechanical/electic complexity it really isn't reliable... I have a few family members that have them that are itching to get out of their lease due to all the issues
reason not to get it. 1. T6 engine complexity and reliability issues. 2 Infotainment, hvac and features control via big distracting screen which still has tendency to freeze up and be slow at times. 3. profits from this cars will end up in china if thats important to you.
Yes, there’s a reason why I dedicate a whole section of the video to reliability. But I don’t think you paid any attention as they don’t make this in T6 anymore (supercharger is completely gone). I’d also buy a Lexus or something I’d trust more (as I said in the video) but did you just see “Volvo” in the title and suit up?😂
There is a base model without all the hybrid tech, if you want reliability while enjoying the Volvo experience. Still not satisfied with that? Get the Lexus ES350 or the Acura TLX.
Volvo just seems like it has placed itself in a more niche market. They want to be luxurious, but their cars come across as bland. Good review on both the positives and negatives of the car.
Don't pay any attention to them. They're either not Volvo owners or they're just complainers. They're reliable when you TAKE CARE of the damn car. Which very few people are willing to do because they actually can't afford it. (they have to lease)
Who's gonna buy this turbo 2L 310 hp engine on aftermarket after 150 000 miles? nobody. I wouldn't buy it. It's not reliable..it will be downpriced a lot and I still wouldn't.
5 reason to buy it ???? 123 reason to not buy it reliability, reliability, reliability , did I mention reliability Volvo has been a piece trash for years come on stop this nonsense
