@@HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA German cars aren't what they used to be. They make great luxury vehicles, but the reliability factory drops them for me. I'd make a bit of an exception for Porsche though.
2022 S60 R-Design owner. Very, very happy with my car. No T8 drivetrain but mild-hybrid, the same interior you have on this tester, and Thunder Grey paint add up to the best daily I've ever owned. I am a multiple-time sports car owner and daily drove Mustangs, etc. for years (I'm 52 now) and there is something about battling the rush hour crush in the Volvo that soothes me after the work day. It's not hyper stimulating. It's not "eager" like a 3-series. And when the road is open I miss that sometimes. Though on a long highway drive the Volvo KILLS. The thing about the eagerness is....I live in Atlanta. Traffic here is pretty much a sun up to sun down reality. For a primary vehicle it's pretty much the perfect ride. Plus it's an event to be passed by another S60 on the road or see a second one in a parking lot. There are literally two S60s at my office and that's the highest S60 density I've encountered in the 2 years I've had it. LOL. Good luck with the channel. I am a huge audiophile. I have a large room in the basement just for my stereo and LP shelves. I will not drive a car with a bad stereo. My last car had a poor stereo and I immediately put about $3k into upgrades via the aftermarket. I give that backstory to say I have heard the B&W. It's stunning. Worth every penny. However couldn't find my combination with the B&W when I bought it and I went with the HK. It's not as good. It is, however, still better than most every factory system out there. It's fantastic. So get the B&W if you can... but don't dismiss the HK out of hand. It's really an exceptional stereo. Hope that helps and I hope you get your Volvo.
Good video! I bought a 2023 S60 T8 Recharge earlier this year as my daily commuter and I get asked about it and complimented on it everywhere I go. I especially love that, in Pure mode, I can commute to and from work on the battery alone, yet still have the full gas tank for longer trips. It blows peoples' minds when I tell them that I only have to fill the tank every three or four months.
6:16 Hold the home button for like 3-5 seconds, the screen will go into cleaning mode so you can wipe the screen. At least that's how it works on my 2019 V60
I have a 2023 S60 T8 Plus Dark for the last 3 months and here's what you need to know: 1. Compared to my previous 2020 S60 T6 AWD this car is much more powerful, it smokes almost any other car within the same price range with the exception of the model 3 performance. The previous S60 was no slouch, but this one is a different ball game. However, this is more of cruiser than a sports car. Steering is a not very connected and it's really out of its element on a super twisty road. If that's your thing - BMW is a better fit. 2. Build quality is top notch. On-par with other medium luxury brands (BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Lexus) although there are some material choices where it's not a great. Compared to the build quality and materials - a model 3 feels like a flimsy toy car built for children. 3. Ride quality is great - the front seats are very comfortable, the suspension does a good job controlling the car's weight without being too soft or too hard. However, road noise is still noticeable and so are poorly paved roads. To be fair, it's less harsh than Audi, seats are more comfy than a BMW (but not as quiet). The rear seats is where things are really problematic. The raised floor and bump really make it hard for more than 2 people to sit in the back and while the seats are comfortable, the angle is too shallow to support adult legs on long trips. 4. Infotainment - that's a hit and miss. Google maps integration as well as Apple Car play (wired) is great. Built in spotify and soundcloud also work wel. Sound is pretty good although not industry best (unless you opt for the ultimate trim and the optional $3200 B&W sound). The system lags a little switching between functions (AC controls, infotainment, camera) and lacks some refinement. Digital dashboard is decent but lack customization. 5. Connected services - a joke. My previous S60 had more options. No trip or odometer info, no fuel economy, no ability to schedule charging !?!? you get remote start, remote lock/unlock, and battery range. 6. The PHEV system takes space out of the trunk, there's not arm rest storage, and a bunch of other small and annoying compromises that feel like a step backwards from the 2020 gas-powered model. One other thing - the use of piano black trim on this car (same as my older one) is really something I'd wish they'd stay away from. Fingerprints, scuffs and tiny scratches galore. 7. Fuel economy - at the electric range is far from accurate. my 6 miles daily commute somehow always shows a drain of 10+ miles despite being in city, flat, and during normal weather (where the manual claims it should actually consume less than the 6 miles). However, overall, it does eventually evens out and able to get ~40 miles of pure electric range. If going on longer trips or when the battery is not fully charged, using the built-in Goolge maps to set trip destination optimized gas/electric usage but it really varies by your commute / trips. I've gotten as low as 29mpg when it's mostly gas. On a 120mile trip I got an average of over 54 mpg (partly electric / partly gas) all in all - pretty happy with the economy. This could be a perfect car for anyone who wants the EV experience without the range anxiety (albeit I do have a garage with a 40Amp 240V circuit making the 7kw L2 charger work well for me).
I think volvo has the best seats in the midsize sedan segment, and one of the best interiors. The interior is clean, simple, and makes sense. Its much better than the 3 series with ID8, which is just a giant flatscreen TV in front of you.
But ID8 is lightyears ahead of volvos infotainment in terms of functions and speed. The reaction Time and Smoothness of the Screen in the ID8 is unmatched.
I’ve been a Volvo driver since driving a rental S40 down the PCH 20 years ago and not realizing I was going 100mph until I glanced at the speedo. It was just calm, smooth and fun. My very next car purchase was a ‘02 S60 AWD. replaced that with my current daily driver which is’12 S60 T6 AWD. I still enjoy every minute behind the wheel. It’s still quiet and a great ride. And NO RUST even though it’s been through 10+ MN winters. It’s time to start thinking about my next S60 and I think this might be it. Great video.
I just bought my 2020 V60 CC out of its lease (no other car I’ve had has ever compelled me to keep it) and look forward to many many more years of soothing driving around chaotic Seattle traffic. Can’t recommend it enough, it fits in in every neighborhood, every mountain pass, the best all rounder IMO.
"not alot of people drive these" Like 40 precent of the swedish market is volvos. 50000 sold 2020. cant drive anywhere without seeing a volvo. all my neighbours have volvos
Not many reviewers give credit how much the bowers and wilkins in volvos are actually superior than the other branded speakers in other germans. They're the best
Agree with pretty much everything you said about Volvo and the car, good video! I've been a car person since I was kid thanks to my parents but never paid attention to Volvo until around 2017 thru 2020. My parents would come to visit me and rent from a place that usually rented BMW's and Mercedes (at the time I was a huge BMW fan) but they started giving us Volvos! The first one we were like "Pffft what is this 'downgrade'?!" but then we drove it and were all impressed! Over those couple of years we probably got 5-6 different models as rental cars and we liked them all and even started to prefer them over the trim levels of BMW/Mercedes they'd rent! Then came 2021 and I was in the market for a new car, started no where close to Volvos, but then remembered all the rental cars we had and decided to check them out for myself and ended up with a 2021 S60 T8 (which only had 415hp at the time) and man that was probably the nicest car & daily driver I ever had! (I use to have a 2008 BMW M3). And the only reason I got rid of it was because the opportunity fell in my lap to get a 2023 V60 T8 Polestar Engineered wagon, which is now my current car/daily driver and the nicest car I've ever had! Besides the more power over the previous model year the Polestar suspension, brakes, and tune make a huge difference! You listed a lot of models you've driven but have you drove a Polestar Engineered model? I'd be curious to hear your take on it. Oh and yes, I agree about the new Google based infotainment system (started in 2022). It does a few things nicer than the old system in my 2021, but in large part they GREATLY removed a lot of features (some very small, like why even bother) and the biggest was the PHYSICAL drive mode button/roller wheel that was in front of the parking brake switch! I read that they supposedly removed it because their research showed hardly anyone used it, but man I used that thing constantly and miss it greatly. Based on a lot of the features that were only in-screen that they removed with this new Google system has me believing they removed it cause it wasn't compatible with the Google system or they didn't want to take the time to figure out how to make it work. But that aside, yea I love my Volvo and do wish more people in the US were aware of them, but like you said as long as they keep making and offering them here I'm ok if not a lot of people know about it too :)
I’m receiving my 2024 S60 T8 Polestar with the Bowers & Wilkins in 2 weeks. It’s been delayed because I live in France and those S60 are apparently built in the US, so I’ve been waiting for 14 months… Can’t wait!
2001 V70 T5 owner. I bought it off-lease 5 years old with 60,000 miles. It now has 211,000 miles and I still love driving it. Volvos are the best road tripping cars! You mentioned the leather steering wheel cover feels like it will last a long time. It will. Mine is still in excellent condition, as are the leather seats. And the body has no rust after all these Iowa winters. Its previous life was in Colorado. Since my car is 22 years old I'm starting to look for its replacement. I'm hoping the T8 drivetrain becomes available on the V90 Cross Country, since that's the closest equivalent to my V70. The V60 and XC60 have significantly smaller cargo capacities. I like the ability to haul large items inside- like 2 8' ladders, 10' lumber, or 800 lbs. of shingles.
I absolutely love Volvos, but the new power train configurations have kinda kept me away from them. A guy in my area has a V60 polestar and it’s absolutely STUNNING. Coming from Audi, I don’t love their touchscreen MMI but the rest of the car design is super clean and the bowers systems seem amazing
100% agree with you. I actually dislike the Volvo AAOS system so much that I’m going to get rid of my V60 Polestar. It’s probably they worst infotainment system out there. I really like the system in our other car (Audi as well) the Volvo system is pretty unsafe.
I ordered my V60 without the B&W. I like a good sound, but the HK is sufficient for me. And besides, it’s a company car I’ll use for 3y/180k km and the B&W would have pushed the price into 80000 Euro’s and it’s difficult to explain to my boss why I need the most expensive radio.
There is a launch mode so you don't have to manually brake boost. Put your foot on the brake, floor the accelerator and release the brake. There used to be a physical control for drive modes but they took it away in 2023 models, absolutely everyone hates having to run through the menus. Hopefully they'll at least make it available on the first screen and/or via voice command.
I'd love for them to add the drive mode buttons to the front screen in the bottom section. I honestly forget exactly what that section is for and never use it, so for me it'd be the perfect place for all 4 of those buttons to rest. Here's hoping for a software update!
@@TheDizman I'd be ok with them having it at the bottom with the HVAC buttons, possibly letting you switch between HVAC controls and drive modes. I never mess with the HVAC controls so I wouldn't mess being able to configure those into a menu elsewhere.
i don't understand why people buy audis and bmws that are broken 80% of the time when you could buy a cheaper volvo that lasts longer and runs cheaper while still having "luxury" for cheap
The T8 drive train is notable for it's electric only "pure" mode and the benefits that offers. I think 75% of my daily driving needs are met using just electric. I charge from home which is augmented by my solar system. Hence my transportation expense crazy low. But,,, quite often I use "power mode" to put a grin on my face and enjoy the performance aspect. I think it's the best of two worlds, efficient yet possessing performance ability that is astonishing. I sold my Mercedes Benz C43 AMG and I like the Volvo better. Truly a great car.
@@wesd991 I've only got 21,000km on it. So far zero issues. Ironically it goes in for an annual service on Friday. All routine service is free for 5 years. I also extended the warranty for 5 years. So I suspect I might sell at around 4+ years. 😊 But so far it performs bulletproof. My buddy has a XC90 that is 3 years old with over 50,000 km and 🤞 he too has had no issues. This is in Thailand so the weather conditions are mild and no brutal cold or salt or massive temperature changes etc. While the drive train is somewhat complex it all functions seamlessly. From my perspective I would highly recommend the Volvo T8. And the V60 is a wagon which I really love! 😊 Time will tell but it's looking good in the early days. Oh, fuel economy on gas alone is not very impressive but that could be due to my heavy right foot! Overall quality excellent. Cheers,
Initially was going to ask if you could choose your drive modes using voice commands. Am astounded that you knocked the info sensus without saying that all the controls you want buttons for are available through voice command. I really like the Volvo senses setup and that audio, cabin temp including steering wheel and seat heat as well as navigation can be controlled via voice command. I seldom touch the senses screen except to go into full map view. I have had Volos since 2006 and love my 2017 V90cc. Only reason I hesitate on V60 T8 is cost. Thanks for the reveiw.
Your point stands but Sensus has been replaced by Android Automotive on all Recharge models (EVs and PHEV's) and of course Google Assistant is second to none.
@@stevensnow4112 No, the voice command coverage is about 25% of what it is in a Sensus car. AAOS is this is very much not ready, they shipped it with a lot of functionality that Sensus had removed and have been slowly adding it back with updates.
I dont know about the us, but here in sweden i see a volvo every 3rd car thats on the road. Sure they are great cars, but its become so normal here to have a volvo. almost everyone buys one. I think if i didnt see hundreds of volvos every day i would appreciate the car more. Its a pretty good car tbh.
Coincidentally, I do like the S60 exclusivity. You can go an hour without seeing another one in SE Pa. Also economy - my '23 S60 Recharge since Nov and through the winter . . . 94mpg. Since March, 102mpg. (At $.18 / kWh and av $3.90 for gas, my pennies per mile are 7.26, vs ~15 for my last 2L ICE.)
Been looking at getting a 2019-2020 V60 R-Design recently, test drove one and fell in love with them! Dad's had a couple V70R's that made me fall in love with Volvo's. I love all the small features in this one however, the vents on the B pillars for the rear passengers is a lovely touch!
Love my 2018 S90. Just an amazing highway car that eats up the speedo. I regularly drive at the top of 6th and 7th gear with no issues. It hates city traffic though.
Meh sold mine. Had way too many random issues and these things have brake problems. Was told by my service tech that replacing brake pads yearly is a normal thing
I love everything about Volvos except that infotainment screen being vertical. I’ve only ever driven the SUVs and it’s just amazing to be in and this saloon is quite enticing as well.
Volvos are great ... till they're not. Which is the case often and often with serious engine, mechanical, and electrical issues. See Savage Geese on his personal XC90, too.
@JeromeWilliams-oe9ws I've had two, one 2021 S60 T8, one 2023 S60 T8. Would not recommend either to anyone due to terrible reliability and build quality. I think there's something weird going on for the right hand drive versions. In the UK they're quickly getting a bad rep, the T8 drivetrain in particular is known for blowing itself to bits after 50k miles, if it doesn't fail electrically before that.
Nice! I recently bought a 2009 S80 T6 with a little over 62,000 mi on it!!! It was a 2 owner car and every service was done at a Volvo dealership. I will be doing a air intake, Polestar tune and an exhaust.
6:29 Our '18 XC90 has a little net on the side of the center console that contains the ziploc pouch for the screenwipe perfectly, it also has instructions to hold the home button to turn off the screen.
I was thinking of buying it but it cost about $58k so I purchased an SE Camry Hybrid instead. I found the Camry to be as good to,drive as a daily and much more affordable overall. It cost about $35 so about $20k less. Volvo is more of a luxury sedan for sure and very nice. But the New 2025 Camry Hybrid is amazing and gets 45-48 mpg. With regular gas. Volvo premium gas.
S60 is about 15% more efficient due to less weight, less frontal area, better aerodynamics (kamm effect). Just compare the window stickers. They're better looking too. Mine, viewed from the side with no badges visible, was mistaken for a Maserati.
"The architects have to buy a volvo now because there are no Saabs to buy anymore" true that. I love my Saab 9-5 but modern Volvos are a close approximation to how Saabs might feel if they'd still exist...
I know I'm in the minority on this one but I don't think the Bowers sound system is worth it at all. When shopping for mine, I sat in a B&W car and a HK car back to back and the difference was not drastic to me, definitely not +$3000 worth of better.
I have ordered the v60 t6 recharge after fifteen years driving a Lexus RX 400h without any complaints and fully satisfied by its reliability. I dont know if i did it right!!!
I've had two of these, both pre and post facelift, and both had serious drivetrain issues. Be warned, they're brilliant when they work, but boy do they like to go wrong.
@skippynj1979 the prefacelift one I had would suddenly crunch and jolt at slow speeds using pure electric mode, forcing it into gas only for the rest of the drive. The facelifted one completely loses all drive power at random forcing you to pull over and restart it entirely to get going again. That and the build quality has been atrocious on both of them. The prefacelift had a misfitted front bumper that left a half inch panel gap on the front no matter how much you adjusted it, and multiple interior pieces like chair adjustment handles simply fell off. The face-lift had no panel issues, but is full of rattles and part of the decorative dash trim fell off during driving, as well as door seals popping out of place and warping. Both also regularly would catch rocks between the brake disc and heat shield causing an apocalyptic screech for a few miles until it came out. The prefacelift also has a long term issue, though more prevalent on the bigger cars (XC60/90), where essentially the electric motor is underspecced for the weight of the vehicle and prematurely fails. Typically at between 70k and 120k miles, typically just after your warranty expires...
@@e5h5 thank you. My friend is a Volvo tech and confirms the software issue you talk about. I have the polestar 2 and love the way it drives. I hate the interior. I drove the new s60r yesterday and really liked it for the money. I also love the bmw i4 aswell.

P3 S60 owner, and I would own a brand new S60 in a heartbeat, except I don't like the climate control in the screen. I love having physical controls. I love being able to turn on my seat heater instantly when the car is on. If volvo fixed this, I would probably buy a new one today. I also don't like the start / stop switch on the center counsel, I want it back on the dash so it's not easily broken or easily accessed.
Great video! I have a 2019 S60 T6 R-Design with the polestar tune making 330 hp from the twin-charged 2.0 4Cyl. I would say that car is the sweet spot because it has a slightly more sporty suspension, paddle shifters, and is 800 lbs lighter than the T8. Plus they can be had for about 10K less than the T8, even with the B&W sound (which I had to have). The only downside is that the aftermarket for this SPA generation of Volvos is basically non-existent, but totally agree Volvo is never mentioned in comparison reviews and it should be…
@@toriko143 very very little. There’s Heico exhausts if you don’t mind spending $2K for a mildly more aggressive note. My R-Design came with the factory lower suspension and ground effects kit, which is no longer offered. There are some wheels that will fit, but I haven’t found a set I like with the correct bolt pattern.
The plug in hybrid has a nice power advantage over the Camry hybrid and has a great electric 40 mile range so you can drive every day with not using gas. Of course Toyota will be coming out with the plug in hybrid very soon. Camry is the affordable option.for most average consumers. This is a luxury car for the more affluent buyers. After this year, no more Volvo S60 and that’s a sad thing because it’s a nice option if you want luxury car that’s classy understated.
I got a soft spot for wagons, i would like a blacked out V90 or even V60. They look so sick. But im stuck with my 2019 kia Ceed. Great car for the money tho. Got it brand new.
My boss has an IS with the ML. I would say the HK and ML are on par, the B&W better and the S60 is a much better choice if you use your rear seat often for passengers. It's much more comfortable for more than 2 people than the IS. The Lexus is a nice car though. He and I discussed our respective cars and agree you buy the one that feels "right" to you. Good luck with your choice!
So he says u get 41 miles of electric charge does that mean u only have the full 455hp for only 41 miles? Sorry new to plug in hybrids what happens after the 41 miles? It's gas only or still hybrid?
Thank you for the review. I too love Volvos, and yes they are understated. I'm looking for one that fit my budget. If I want to get the 2023 or 2024, S60 AWD (gas), do you recommend it? Is it reliable cars? Or just like any other luxury cars, they come with some expensive repairs down the road.
Yes, it does! But it can charge even faster if you select the « Charge » mode in the battery setting menu, but this forced mode doesn’t really make sense as you make electricity with petrol…
Oil change is usually 1 year/10k mile whichever comes first. For a gas car that sits in a garage for a year you would still want to change the oil. Also at some point lots of phev intentionally turn on the engine and burn off remaining gas to prevent gas from going bad.
All that tech but no wireless car play? C'mon my 2022 Kia Rio has it! Sweet car though, I've always been a fan of Volvos. Not too many cars you see lasting on the roads, but Hondas, Toyotas and Volvos are the ones that last the most.

Great video.
i have a '01 S60, no rust and allways runs perfectly
I just bought my 2020 V60 CC out of its lease (no other car I’ve had has ever compelled me to keep it) and look forward to many many more years of soothing driving around chaotic Seattle traffic. Can’t recommend it enough, it fits in in every neighborhood, every mountain pass, the best all rounder IMO.
"not alot of people drive these" Like 40 precent of the swedish market is volvos. 50000 sold 2020. cant drive anywhere without seeing a volvo. all my neighbours have volvos
Not the case in the states. I can go for a 30 minute commute in bumper to bumper traffic and not see a single Volvo
here they aren't common
Not many reviewers give credit how much the bowers and wilkins in volvos are actually superior than the other branded speakers in other germans. They're the best
Just a small detail. It is the fueltank under the boot. The battery is in the transmission tunnel.
I’ve never been a Volvo guy, but this looks really nice, a very simple but sharp approach to luxury.
goes to the Polestar design
I have a 2024 denim blue S60 recharge arriving in July. Can’t wait, big upgrade over my current ride.
The engine cover is not designed for sound dented. It is for pedestrian impact protection. Just an FYI.😊
Yo how is the car thinking of getting one ? Any issues how’s the engine ?
Just got my 2020 V60 T8 Twin-Engine Hybrid and I'm SO happy with the car! It's just perfect for every occasion. Bloody fast too
I absolutely love Volvos, but the new power train configurations have kinda kept me away from them.
I really like the system in our other car (Audi as well) the Volvo system is pretty unsafe.
love me a volvo, looking to buy a used one for my first car
2022 models doesnt have physical drive mode selector so i think they removed it for 22 models
It's AAOS models, so 22 for the XCs, 23 for the S/V.
Reportedly the car is limited to 200 launches in its life. Not an issue for me haha.
i don't understand why people buy audis and bmws that are broken 80% of the time when you could buy a cheaper volvo that lasts longer and runs cheaper while still having "luxury" for cheap
On my 2nd S60 in 4 years now. Brilliant awesome amazing car!
Sweden is without a doubt the greatest car makers trough the years Volvo and Saab
You forgot Koeniggsegg
@@cashscash21 no I didn’t he’s obviously the greatest car builder since Henry Ford
The engine block cover (rubber thing) is deigned for pedestrian safety, doesn’t have much to do with sound deadening.
And yet it would certainly deaden sound.... no doubt.
How has the ownership experience been so far in terms of reliability
@@CaryInVictoria Google assistant is good but can you use voice commands for all the things you wanted button or knob for?
@@stevensnow4112 No, the voice command coverage is about 25% of what it is in a Sensus car. AAOS is this is very much not ready, they shipped it with a lot of functionality that Sensus had removed and have been slowly adding it back with updates.
@@AllPurposeBen thanks.
You should come to Sweden here Volvo is the radar
I have a V60 T8 and I think the batteries are in the tunnel which previously was for the drive shaft. I have sub trunk space available for storage.
Regarding the Infotainment screen: many functions ( Google Maps, cabin temperature, fan speed, etc.) cab be set via voice command.
See Savage Geese on his personal XC90, too.
volvos from 2020 and up are pretty reliable check our carcomplaints from real owners
As @TheTopher says, at some point, every Volvo will be worth 2 grand. lol
@@TopherDrives LOL. Because they last that long, right? 🤘
Really weird to hear that no one buys a Volvo, when you have biased view and live in a Nordic country - where every second car you see is a Volvo. :D
press and hold down the home button to switch it to screen cleaning mode.
UK = 2018+ Offset pedals!!
I have to get a 2016 V60 which is lined up perfectly! The new manual cars have offset pedals!RH drive same as Audi and BmW
Nice! I recently bought a 2009 S80 T6 with a little over 62,000 mi on it!!! It was a 2 owner car and every service was done at a Volvo dealership. I will be doing a air intake, Polestar tune and an exhaust.
clean and simple, love it
Volvo gang ❤
6:29 Our '18 XC90 has a little net on the side of the center console that contains the ziploc pouch for the screenwipe perfectly, it also has instructions to hold the home button to turn off the screen.
Have a fusion red 2019 t6 R with the polestar chip and it really is a great car
i had a 240 d in the military it was the smooth riding and just solid built
I replaced my 2006 SAAB 9-3 2.0T with a 2019 Volvo S60 T5. Big upgrade, but both cars have the same soul.
@topherdrives if you hold the home button for 20 seconds, it goes into "screen cleaning mode".
is the speed performance better when the battery is charged or do you get e same performance with a dead battery and just running off fuel?
hey man how does the ride compare to the xc60 ? and why sedan over the xc60? I knew volvos were underrated and really safe cars.. I love the xc60 !
Sedan handles better.
Not everyone likes SUVs and sitting up high.
My first car was a 1994 Volvo 940 and I LOVED IT. I drive a 2022 Honda civic now, but my next car will be a Volvo 🤞🏼
VOLVO FTW!! Still have my turbocharged Inline 6
I know I'm in the minority on this one but I don't think the Bowers sound system is worth it at all. When shopping for mine, I sat in a B&W car and a HK car back to back and the difference was not drastic to me, definitely not +$3000 worth of better.
I want a brand new Volvo S60 so badly! Oh yeah! Volvo 4 Life.
I have ordered the v60 t6 recharge after fifteen years driving a Lexus RX 400h without any complaints and fully satisfied by its reliability. I dont know if i did it right!!!
How has it been the past couple months?
I've had two of these, both pre and post facelift, and both had serious drivetrain issues. Be warned, they're brilliant when they work, but boy do they like to go wrong.
What were the failures with the t8?
Oh and both of them chew through 12v batteries like there's no tomorrow, and the accompanying app is constantly broken in various ways.
@@e5h5 thank you. My friend is a Volvo tech and confirms the software issue you talk about. I have the polestar 2 and love the way it drives. I hate the interior. I drove the new s60r yesterday and really liked it for the money. I also love the bmw i4 aswell.
@@e5h5 the 12v battery is an issue with all ev and hybrids. Unfortunately car makers are trying to use the the 12v technology because they are utilizing the same 12v accessories from their suppliers. Going to be an interesting 10 years.
Does it have adaptive cruise control?
Yes, it comes standard with the Ultimate trim level
Wait until Hilton figures out a tune for these
P3 S60 owner, and I would own a brand new S60 in a heartbeat, except I don't like the climate control in the screen. I love having physical controls. I love being able to turn on my seat heater instantly when the car is on. If volvo fixed this, I would probably buy a new one today. I also don't like the start / stop switch on the center counsel, I want it back on the dash so it's not easily broken or easily accessed.
my dad had a 2005 s60 back in like early 2010s and my mom named it candi and called it his stripper because of how expensive the parts are
The Harmon Karden sound systems in their older cars is amazing too
i also really love the B&O soundsystem in the A3 Audi
The new volvos look slick.
The only downside is that the aftermarket for this SPA generation of Volvos is basically non-existent, but totally agree Volvo is never mentioned in comparison reviews and it should be…
S60 T6 is simply Volvo's best car. T8 is way too heavy to be truly sporty.
@Primitives Heico Sportive all you need.
After this year, no more Volvo S60 and that’s a sad thing because it’s a nice option if you want luxury car that’s classy understated.
not only do they do stuff better apples to apples but they will surly be more reliable
I like literally everything except the AC controls
How would this vehicle do in snow or icy weather?
Have you ever listened to a Bang and Olufsen system in an Audi S8? I haven’t listened to the Volvo system so it would be a great comparison
I got a soft spot for wagons, i would like a blacked out V90 or even V60. They look so sick. But im stuck with my 2019 kia Ceed. Great car for the money tho. Got it brand new.
This or a Lexus IS with Mark Levinson?
My boss has an IS with the ML. I would say the HK and ML are on par, the B&W better and the S60 is a much better choice if you use your rear seat often for passengers. It's much more comfortable for more than 2 people than the IS. The Lexus is a nice car though. He and I discussed our respective cars and agree you buy the one that feels "right" to you. Good luck with your choice!
You guys are lucky, in USA this car is made in USA. In Australia, this car is made in China!?
I drive my 2020 F150 with my pinky 😂😂you can do it man
Hold the button on the infotainment to enter cleaning mode :)
Beautiful luxury volvo
Press and hold the home button under the screen and the screen will turn off for cleaning even if the car is running.
everything in the screen was a dealbreaker for me when i was in the market a couple years ago
So he says u get 41 miles of electric charge does that mean u only have the full 455hp for only 41 miles? Sorry new to plug in hybrids what happens after the 41 miles? It's gas only or still hybrid?
When do the new Volvos come out?
This is a really good plug in car. It’s expensive but I get it
Yeah man I was really wanting one of these , just can’t afford it. Maybe I can get a used one in a couple years
what type of plug is that?1 Chademo?!
I’ve had the B5 (mild-hybrid) for 3 years and it’s an amazingly reliable car. Waiting for my T8 Polestar that arrives in 2 weeks 😊
Does it charge the battery when the petrol engine is running?
I have the T5 version, and i love it :)
Yes, it does! But it can charge even faster if you select the « Charge » mode in the battery setting menu, but this forced mode doesn’t really make sense as you make electricity with petrol…
question: what about oil change when drive 10k km while you use the Electric Motors . Obviously that is doesn’t include it.
Oil change is usually 1 year/10k mile whichever comes first. For a gas car that sits in a garage for a year you would still want to change the oil. Also at some point lots of phev intentionally turn on the engine and burn off remaining gas to prevent gas from going bad.
Now a days its oil change "due to oil oxidation".
Just like all manufacturers.
I agree I really like this car, but a daily driver should be cheaper than this IMO. I could not afford this as my "everyday" car lmao
The T8s are pretty neat, i got a D4 and would love a T8 but yeah, I also have a F150 a M1 and a 1987 Regal GNX so... I don't have money for it lol
The D4 is great, super efficient!
What year do you have?
The best suspension is the BOSE Active Suspension, far, far above a Rolls or a Bentley.
$63k nice, in Europe is over 75k€...
It’s got the same B&W as my McLaren!
All that tech but no wireless car play? C'mon my 2022 Kia Rio has it! Sweet car though, I've always been a fan of Volvos. Not too many cars you see lasting on the roads, but Hondas, Toyotas and Volvos are the ones that last the most.
it should be a push button for start-stop, because the way they implemented is not suitable for ppl with osteoporosis
