I ran across Azelaic acid while doing research for treating my rosacea, which has worsened in the past year. I found a 10% OTC formula in a dropper bottle and ordered it. I also ordered a bar of sulfur soap. Just used them both for the first time this evening and WOW! I can already see a slight difference. There is less redness in my cheeks. I used the dropper and also added/mixed it in some of my skin care creams. Thanks for sharing your info. 👍💜
Great point about sulphur - I haven't used a lot of sulphur products for my skin, but many swear by it! Happy to hear you are already seeing results; thank you for sharing your experience 💜
@@andreascott3001 Hey there, so I ordered both products off Amazon. The 10% Azelaic acid in the dropper bottle was $13.98 and the brand name is Cos De BAHA. The sulfur soap brand is Natrulo brand with lemongrass & tea tree oil. It was $ 6.99. Both these products seem to be helping me a lot, though I will warn you. Sulfur is very healing, but the smell is a little off putting. Has a rotten eggy smell, but if you can get past that, it'll be fine. I like both products. I also just picked up an RX from my doctor for Ivermectin cream. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but hoping for even better results. Best of luck!!
I apply after cleansing and before moisturizer. I have done a couple long form videos on my channel on my azelaic acid routines as well that might be helpful!
Azelaic Acid is magic. I‘m male with rosacea postulosa and use 20% twice a day. Sometimes only in the evening, if my skin is dry. 99% of the inflammation is gone after 2 weeks.
Thank you so much for sharing! I feel it is such an underrated product in skincare, especially for those dealing with inflammatory skin and not necessarily realizing it.
It has changed my life with my Papustual Rosacea I have only been using it for 2 weeks and the change is outstanding. I wish I knew about it 12 months ago when it took hold. Do you ever have a break from it?
That is amazing - thank you for sharing! I stopped using it 2x/day for about 6 months, but then just felt my skin wasn't doing as well; so I re-introduced it, and have never looked back.
@@ChristaEvelyn Here we go: I don’t even know how to thank you enough. My skin has changed completely. I didn’t expect results after a month only, but holy crap. M 18, I don't have any acne but the sides of my nose are very red (and very dry too) 😢 I am not sure if it's rosacea (I think its seborrheic dermatitis or whatever the spelling is), will this help? I have tried literally everything and nothing has worked so far. I m afraid to use this after seeing the comments here, please help.
If you have seborrhoeic dermatitis, you probably have flakes/redness along your hairline and maybe in your eyebrows. Azeleic acid won't help. You should see your gp because no skincare will help. It can be so many different things, which can be solved with the right treatment. Best of luck! ❤
@@monicaclasener You are correct; I indeed have flaky skin on the sides of my nose and occasionally between my eyebrows. I visited the dermatologist earlier today, and she prescribed medications and a cream. I'm hopeful about the results. Thank you so much, by the way! ♥️
@ashwinsharma222 I'm glad you went to see a dermatologist. It's an annoying condition, but harmless (I've got it too). One tip: if you're prescribed hydrocortisone cream/ointment, be sure to use your sunscreen because it makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Happy to be of some help and the very best of luck on your skin journey! As James Welsh says: "Skincare is all about progression over perfection because perfection doesn't exist." ❤️
@@monicaclasener I am glad too. 😊 Agreed! It's pretty harmless, but I found it very annoying when I look at myself in the mirror and see the sides of my nose. At first, I thought putting a ton of moisturizer on the sides of my nose would make it go away 😂, but well, that didn't help. My doctor didn't prescribe hydrocortisone; she suggested Nadibact cream. However, yes, sunscreen is a must no matter the cream. And what a lovely quote! ❤️ By the way, did hydrocortisone help you with your seborrheic dermatitis, if I may ask?
@ashwinsharma222 Yes, temporarily. It is a lifelong condition🙄 and it can be less or more present; it's a chronic form of eczema. Not what you want to hear at 18yrs old, but at least you can treat it. Cortisone creams have nasty side side effects used long-term as fe bacterial overgrowth and thinning of the skin. It's a "last resort". Since you also have acne, dermatologist probably prescribed you the right cream. It's a path of trial and error. Start with the prescription, see if it helps. Try to make healthy diet choices. Less dairy and processed foods can help. But don't beat yourself up, and don't muddle through on your own if things don't get better. You come across as a sensible, intelligent person, so you will work it out🤗 ❤️ And feel free to ask, anytime!
I've tried prescription, but those pharmacy formulas, to be frank, suck. They don't layer well and they don't feel good. That's why, when I've used AA, I've had to go over the counter. Much more elegant options.
Thanks for sharing! I do find my prescription one can pill if I don't let each step of my routine dry down. This particular serum has a really elegant formula combined with one of the higher percentages of AA that I have found. I love the Paula's Choice BHA one too. Do you have a fave OTC?
@@ChristaEvelyn I've actually enjoyed Naturium the most. They have an emulsion, which is unadulterated AA, and they have a serum, which uses the aPAD derivative. The former is obviously a more true AA experience, but I low-key like the derivative because it doesn't come with the infamous AA "itch" that I can never seem to shake. It does have a funky smell though, kind of like the Paula's one you mentioned. I may have to give the brand you featured a shot! It's not one I had heard of.
@@johnmichaelarnaud I definitely have to try Naturium's - so far everything I have tried from that brand I have loved! I also love Geek and Gorgeous' A-Pad ;) Thankfully there are some great OTC ones to choose from!
Have you tried Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Acid? I'm trying to find a product with azelaic acid and if you've use it and it has worked, I'd be very thankful for you to let me know if it's a good product
@@ChristaEvelyn Awesome! Thank you for replying. Do you know where I can get it? I live in Yarmouth Nova Scotia and I don't think it's available in stores around here.

Tell me, once you first start using azelaic acid for rosacea 15% does it react at first or no? React I mean cause a little stinging or maybe a little redness. I just started this today for my rosacea and I’m a little scared of it lol thanks for the tip
@@giacobbesmeraglia1 first I tried every night, then every other night.. but the stinging and burning got worst with Azelaic acid. I am learning that with rosacea the less the better. The more I keep trying to do things it gets bad. But if I stay to a minimalist routine, then it stays ok.
