Hi Christa! Thank you for this review. I am 49 years old and had tried all of the new and hip skincare. I have also battled rosacea flare ups a good deal of my adult life. My flareup triggers were similar to yours. Until I tried Monistat 7. Yes, that Monistat 7. It works wonders! Zero flare ups in months, even following the usual triggers. I also started using Peaches Skincare. Lisa, the owner of that line, is a wealth of knowledge. She has a channel on here. I owe finding the solution to my flareups via her. Peaches Skincare and Lisa's advice have changed my skin life. ✨️ Thank you again for these reviews. ❤
Thanks for your comment! I have heard of using Monistat for fungal acne, makes sense given the overgrowth of yeast/malesesia on the face. Very interesting that you are finding it works. Was it prescribed by a doctor? Or did you stumble across this yourself? Love hearing about other content creators - thanks!
@ChristaEvelyn I bought it OTC. It has to be the official brand, not generic. I've been a nurse for 27 years with a background in chemistry, so I wondered why I hadn't thought of it myself when I started using Peaches Skincare. It was in one of Lisa's videos. They're finding most redness in the skin is actually fungal itself.
I have subtype 1 rosacea. I rarely get flare ups. It's just visible blood vessels. I have started getting acne a bit. I'm 48 and I'm in the beginning of menopause. Oh yay. 😂😂😂. My skin really isn't dry or flaky. More a little dehydrated. Barely any oil anywhere. I tried The Ordinary AA and I really didn't get along with it. My question is so you think the prescription is perhaps less irritating than TO? Would prescription AA benefit my blood vessels in anyway? I have 0.75% metrogel. A month ago I put it on and within day 2 my forehead was completely broke out in white heads. No pain just zits.
I don't think AA would target those broken blood vessels, I think the most widely recognized treatment is IPL /laser treatment. Menopause is so much fun! We are so lucky we get to endure it for years, and for some of us even decades 😒@@RazorbackNation75
57 year old male: Just started my battle against very red skin, spots etc. I decided to do something about it after some friends mentioned my red face! Started last year after tennis games with extreme redness and burning, stinging sensation . Mix of too much south of France sun and a lot of sweating which I should have rinsed off after every break. I now have permanent redness and itching forehead. I have an appointment with a dermatologist in a couple of months. Meanwhile I managed to find a 15% azelaique cream and really high quality sun screen. Let’s see how it goes. Wearing a hat too and good sunglasses. Thanks for this very informative video.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Is the itching and redness on your forehead accompanied by what looks like pimples? I ask - because I have dealt with fungal acne in the past (was brought on by a trip to the Caribbean), and is not the same as regular acne. Requires a totally different approach!
My Tretinoin Formula is 0.1% , Niacinimide 4% & 15% Azelaic Acid . My main concerns are anti aging but I love Azelaic Acid for that too . I use Copper Peptide Serum AM . ❤😊👏🇬🇧
I have some minor rosacea around my nose. I have been told I should use the 15% prescription azelaic acid there and also over my entire face morning and night, sort of to help prevent irritation on my whole face. Interesting that my dermatologist said to just use it on my entire face.
I looove Finacea gel! So good, absorbs so well and does not peel like a lot of over the counter azelaic acid products. I do not have rosacea, but I have acne and my skin is prone to redness (especially if I exposed to heat). Finacea was a great complement to tretinoin ❤
Dear Christa! Thanx for sharing this video! I am from Austria and i can tell my skin looks almost like yours. I am right now trying skinoren 15% gel (Finacea). We will see! I am 41 years old and deal with mild rosacea since i was 25 years but now my rosacea turned into the stadium 2 with pimples redness etc. My make up to cover it is from la Roche posay toleriane fluid make up . Without that i would go crazy at this time. Please continue your vides!!! Its a big help. ❤
My triggers are hot weather, humidity, hot water, occlusive things on my skin. Also vitamin C and retinols. Anything sticky or tacky. My skin is super reactive to those kinds of thing. Azelaic acid and niacinimide have been really helpful. I can use fragrance free peptide formulations, and of course lots of sunscreen! Mineral SPF from Paula's Choice has been great. Also Beauty of Joseon.
20% azelaic acid gel completely changed my acne prone, redness prone skin. The effects for me were noticeable within days, in regard to calming acne inflammation. For me, it's more effective against acne than benzoyl peroxide or tretinoin. I now use azelaic acid in the AM, tretinoin in the PM.
I think it is so underrated! I really don’t hear a lot of people talking about it. Thx so much for sharing your experience- it helps others reading these comments too 💛
@@cheyanne2605 Yes! I was sure to make sure my skin tolerated the tret first, but now I apply my AA, wait about 15 minutes, and then apply my tret, and it is working well!
It's amazing. It works! I started with Metronidazole, then Soolantra, and finally Finacea....After 7 weeks, my skin has not looked this good in a decade! I sometimes add some Metronidazole 😢 the odd night use, Soolantra. I use no other products other than Beauty Of Joseon sunblock daily.
That is so amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Metronidazole was what helped me get out of my acute stage initially. In some cases a medical professional is warranted vs. other skincare/OTC approaches. So happy to hear you enjoying great skin :) 💞
Hello, I am writing from Italy. I am 30 years old and suffer from rosacea. My doctor told me to avoid all foods that contain histamine! Since I no longer eat these foods (such as tomatoes) I have noticed many improvements!!! I have been using rozex for many months but would like to add Azelaic acid. I will ask my dermatologist!
Thank you so much for sharing! That is interesting about the tomatoes, I am going to pay closer attention to when I eat them now if there is a correlation! So many things that can influence our skin, that we can be completely unaware of. Let us know if you try azelaic acid and how you get on :)

Dear Christa, do you use prescription azelaic acid on the damp or dry skin? I hope it can be used with my medik8 retinal. I will rewatch your video. You such an inspiration for me!
You're beautiful! 💙What is your experience and opinion of Vichy Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream? What effect did it have on your beautiful skin? 😁 I hope it works for me because I have dry and young skin ( I'm 41 years old ) Thank you very much! 💐
I love that moisturizer - it worked well for me! I am a big fan of Vichy products, and have tried many things that have worked well for my skin over the years :)
@@ChristaEvelyn Thank you for taking the time for this comment! ❤️ And also thank you for your valued opinion :) Which Vichy Cleanser can I use for dry skin?
Personally I use rewind first and then azelaic acid - but I really don't think it makes loads of difference. Since this azelaic acid is a thicker texture - and rewind is a thinner consistency - that is why I layer it this way :)
Hi Christa! Thanks for your videos.:) Could I ask? I have used azelaic about 3 weeks. I seeing more pimples on my face, I never had it. Is it normal? thanks :)
I am not sure if azelaic acid can maybe cause some purging at the beginning? Usually purging skin is when the acne is coming out more in the places it normally comes out - if yes it is purging, and if not (if it is all over, or in areas that you normally don't have acne) - then it is likely a sensitivity to the product. Of course check with your medical professional (because of course I am not that ;))
I have a problem with finacea like it doesn’t burn or sting when i applied it but when i apply moisturizer on top of it, it starts burning. What could i possibly doing wrong??
Do you apply the Finacea once your face has become dry, and do you let it to dry before applying your moisturizer? :) If so, I’m uncertain. Could be the ingredients.
That is strange - have you tried different moisturizers? Could be some ingredient in the moisturizer that when in the same routine as the AA is causing the issue? Alternatively, if you wait several minutes before you apply your moisturizer does it still happen?
