The holidays are upon us, so here’s a quick note before anyone comments:
    1. I use bunches of greens, not bushels. I corrected this in the description box two years ago-it was an error on my part.
    2. If you don’t like red pepper flakes, feel free to omit them. You can tweak this recipe however you like! I personally use red pepper flakes.
    3. Some ask how long I cook down the ham hocks. I cook them until they’re tender, which can take from an hour and a half to two hours, depending on your stove.
    4. I don’t know the exact weight of the greens-I just picked up bunches.
    5. If you think my recipe has too much seasoning, that’s okay! There are many other videos you can watch. You don’t need to tell me how you would’ve done it; there’s a reason you’re watching my video.
    6. Lastly, I don’t know how much greens you’d need in a bag, as I used fresh bunches and chopped them myself.
Happy Holidays, and thanks for watching! 🤎🫶🏾

Thank you; I have a bunch of collards we grew that keep coming up, and until recently didn't know how to use em. Thanks for the recipe. Will try it today.

I made some, and it's the BEST food I have probably made so far. Mine came out to be more of a ham-hocks with collard greens. I'm not complaining, it's delicious. Made some rice on the side, and doctored up some candied yams with more brown sugar and cinnamon, maybe some potato salad on the side, and you proudly enter the ranks of the other 40 million overweight Americans.

I love when somebody throws caution to the wind when it comes to black pepper! Some people do like to cranks on a Peppermill and I’m thinking, why bother

How long do you cook the ham hocks before you add the greens?

See Im glad TH-cam exsit because as a white woman I knew black folk knew something white folk aint know. 😂 we dont mix different broths with different meats. This is why the seasoning is always off. (This was meant to be a funny. Laugh and move on.)

Four bushels of greens???? There is a pot large enough to hold 4 bushels of greens. You'd need at least a dozen ham hocks for a bushels of greens. I don't get this recipe at all!

Look this is too much shit for some collard greens and ham hocks make them the way I make my brown sugar, pineapple juice, a little bit of onions and that’s it simple and they turn not great. This is the way I have been making mine for the last 27 years, try it. You don’t need all this nonsense.

Please review #5 on my pinned comment . Just a little advice since we are offering up suggestions don’t waste your time watching and commenting under somebody video if your so called recipe has been working for 27 years 😉 clearly it’s not and nobody eating them that’s why you’re on TH-cam trying update the 27 year old recipe 🤭

How many ounces of greens !!!? This is such a vague description!!! ( would 3 10 oz bags of pre chopped greens work !????)

I literally walked in the grocery store and picked up four bunches of greens. It wasn’t in ounces So whatever that is,is what you need .☺️
