    Hi Nick I think your an ace presenter/teacher.
    Ok 3 weeks into S&T here in England until yesterday when tried it for the first time.
    What a powerful style first time Ever I’ve hit the ball with zero side spin. Pitching to full shots especially driver when the ball has land it’s going in a forward motion. This might sound silly but for me a new experience and that’s before we even mention distance.
    During lockdown I’ve been using Analyzer older version but a great piece of software so I reckon we should have a chat

    I did all the same things to my swing last year. From what I've seen from many videos by many top teachers over this last year, is that you could benefit by getting your club face slightly more toe down coming into P6 - the toe is still pointed to 12 o'clock whereas most modern top pga guys seem to be closer to 12:30 - this allows them to get way more hip and shoulder turn at impact as they have squared the club earlier. Nice video.

    • @NickTaylorGolf
      @NickTaylorGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would agree the face angle standard is slightly toe down at P6 but also there are some slight differences among the top players

      @@NickTaylorGolf Appreciate the reply. So many great resources online for self learning - wish this was available 30 years ago.
      World Top 5 players Toe Position at P6 - and yet none of their swings look remotely the same. This between 12 & 12:30 slight toe down position at P6, with club head behind the hands, is something I have found incredibly important for me to achieve, while I play with my swing. If I can at least get to that position, it usually prevents other bad stuff from happening - usually. Thanks again.
      1) Rory - slight toe down
      2) Rahm - slight toe down
      3) Koepka - slight toe down
      4) Thomas - slight toe down
      5) Johnson - slight toe down

    At this point I'm desperate, my swing is garbage. I started golfing in 2012 when I was 40 yrs old. After 4 years of playing I was a 10 index, and hit the ball pretty solid. Over the last 4 years I've gone from scoring in the low 80's and occasionally breaking 80, to now I'm having difficulty breaking 90. It's because my ball striking is terrible. I'm ready to commit to the S&T method, because if I don't do something, im gonna quit. Subscribed

    Have spent the month watching your videos and read the S&T book. I am or was 16 h/c, this will definitely change come next competitions. First outing Played 9 holes two balls in play. The ball flight has completely changed. Great feeling.😀
    There is now a draw or slight draw. Bad shots have turned more into good bad ones. The cone theory is massive for me. More confident in finding the fairway. A great course management tool.
    Will never go back to trying to get behind the ball and time the down swing shifting left. Too much was going wrong with that.
    1 ball was 3 over for 9, the other 5.

    I've started taking some ideas from the stack and tilt swing and I'm definitely noticing the difference with impact while I'm hitting into a net during isolation, do you have a slight bit of early extension at impact? Trail heel up early and do you get high hands resulting in toe down on lie angle? Last time I had use of a machine that's what I was seeing with my swing but hoping to change those 👍🏻

      I am a 42 hcp Golfer. I start a year ago. All the time i was unhappy with my swing, because it felt so complicated and every swings felt different. So i was very inconsistent. Then i found the S & T swing and at first sight i can see, this makes more sense. To change to S & T took me only a few days. Because its so easy and more natural, in my opinion. Because of the Corona Lockdown, i can not go to the range to test my new swing. But in my garden (without hitting balls) the swing feels so good and consistent. I really can't wait to hit balls, to see if the ballstriking is really consistent.

    I like S&T, and involve many of the principles in my own swing. But I wouldn’t agree that it provides more club head speed than alternative models and patterns. Justin Thomas, DJ, not to say Jack are all high hands. Most of the longest hitters both now and in the past are higher than deeper at the top.
    Which isn’t to say you can get longer with S&T over your current pattern - you can. Obviously strike has at least as much to do with distance and THAT’s the main value of S&T. My opinion.

    • @NickTaylorGolf
      @NickTaylorGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi mate, the key to S&T is to build a swing which has consistent contact/low point, enough power to play the course and control of the curve of the ball. If the function was just to create power the swing may look different.
      The 2 current longest hitters on the PGA tour are Bryson and Rory, just because DJ and JT have a high left arm doesn't mean thats the reason they hit the ball a long way.

    • @commane21
      @commane21 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NickTaylorGolf Thanks for the reply. I don't disagree at all with the first part. But when you look at the all time greats on tour for distance, most have high hands. And if you look at long distance drivers, all have high hands. I don't disagree that you can be deep and long, as many illustrate. I just don't thing that having deep hands and an arm path that comes across the shoulders is THE source of power, as it sort of seemed like what you were saying. Cheers, Nick!

    • @NickTaylorGolf
      @NickTaylorGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the best golfers that have high hands manage to re route the club on the downswing and don't swipe across it which I see a lot of the higher handicappers do. Swinging a club on an angle would create more speed/momentum than swinging the club in a straight line up and down the target line .

    you clearly have improved your swing by allowing the club to move back on the inside. the idea of moving the shoulder around was a butch harmon idea. and, the idea of holding the back bolt upright was a leadbetter idea. but, the idea of allowing the spine to curve at the top is wrong, also. the key to good posture is to push back with the base of the neck, from the moment you move into the address position. when you do this it actually lowers the body into position and takes all the strain off the back. when you get yourself in position, relax the neck. you will stay in position. when you have been taught to turn the left shoulder round, and realise that this incorrect, and try to change, as is so often the case, with golfers, it is very easy to succumb to the laws of enantiodromia and do entirely the opposite- and try to keep the left arm close to the body; which can cause a player to hold the club off, especially if they try to work their shoulder down. and, really, the left shoulder joint has to be able to rotate in its socket in the takeaway. not that the rotation of the shoulder helps the shoulder joint to rotate, it doesn't. it, also, prevents the left shoulder joint from stretching in its socket- which is key to enabling the left shoulder to move down, passively. and, the grip is key to achieving this.

    • @NickTaylorGolf
      @NickTaylorGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why is curving the top of the spine wrong, a lot of the best golfers through time have done this including Ben Hogan?

    • @DASH1ful
      @DASH1ful 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NickTaylorGolf it isn't. but, a player should not focus on allowing the back to curve. if, they do they may find it curves rather more than they want. and if a player focuses on allowing their spine to cure they will drop their down when they get into the address position instead of using the base of the neck to get into position. with some players there spine will be straight, with some it will be more curved. but, when you look closely at hogan you will see that there is no lordosis of his cervical spine. and, if there is no lordosis there is no kyphosis. seve had great posture, also.

    • @NickTaylorGolf
      @NickTaylorGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว
