When your coach finishes the lesson out of breath, you know it's been a good one.

I noticed Paddy getting out of breath on other videos. If it was me I would get a medical. Especially my heart and valves checked.

Padraig, I´ve being a great fan for over a decade! I havent golf since I had a hart attack 9 years ago. At that time I use to shoot around 85. Today was the first time I went to a drive range in 9 years! Hit 2 Buckets of balls, because of your youtube channel. Thank you!!!! Hope you you get doble the inspiration you gave me!!!!!!!!! I am 55 years old now by the way. If you ever come to Brazil who know we can play a golf match!
    God bless you!

Paddy! You just gave us Hogan's secret in 2 videos. Push the right hip back and transition by pushing down hard on the left foot! Teaching pros everywhere are damning you. Thanks so much. I almost started crying at the range as I was flushing shot after shot. I'll be following you in Phoenix. Keep up with the great tips.

Thanks Padraig, what a revelation. That’s the clearest explanation for the leg action I’ve ever watched. To be honest I thought that at the top of the backswing my weight should all be on my right leg.

Padraig is a throwback to the old days of the tour. When players were teaching professionals as well. Some of these young players can't articulate the how, what, when, and where. Ask them why do they do this or that and their coach will answer for them. Great stuff Padraig. I love your contributions to Bob Rotellas book "The 15th Club".

This is Dr. Kwon stuff and really modern bio mechanics! It is also a great example of why Paddy is always eagerly awaited by most of us. No bullpoop and no rabbit holes . This is tough stuff for those of us taught the swing in a certain way. I have been working on it for a year but it is a tough change. You likely will need professional help to do it correctly.
Without a doubt Padraig offers the best REAL golf advice i have ever seen.

This is a brilliant lesson. The two-step drill has been around for ages (Bob Toski must have got it from somewhere 40 years ago). A single step forward, however, seems relatively new and all the advice is to make the move as soon as the club swings back to P1. Paddy's advice to do it at P2 gives the golfer a much better chance of completing the backswing. It felt great in the garden and hope springs eternal.

What a great explanation from a major champion of the actual feelings you should experience, his passion for golf really comes through as he wants everyone to just play better and enjoy the game, I will never now how much Paddy has worked incredibly hard to get the ultimate championship by winning the Open but what a great man, I feel like I could meet him at the driving range in the next bay & he would give me the best advice regardless of how great he his, big fan , keep it going Paddy

Paddy does great teaching vids. While doing the one step drills front and back foot, I noticed that my weight shifted with which ever foot moved. This seemed to create a conflict with where the weight was when the swing was near the top.. If I stepped forward, my weight was forward with the swing at the top, but if I stepped backward the weigth was on my back foot when the swing was at the top.. I have no doubt the conflict simply comes from a fine line of weight shift from backswing to downswing but wish Paddy would have explained this a bit.

  • @kckong3

Swinging the left heel in away from target like the long drive folks... I tried that and it felt much easier to rotate the hips and make room for the right arm to swing through. Not sure when the left foot action is supposed to happen but i found it most helpful right after the transition...also felt good that my left arm stretched a bit more across my chest as if more "loaded" 😊

I don't know why you share so much great content, but I am very glad you do. As I understand it, you seem to say that the forward movement of planting onto the lead foot begins to happen by the time the hands are waist high on the backswing. Given there is such a small amount of time between the time the club starts to move back and the time the hands are roughly waist high (and given you are not someone who sways off the ball in the backswing), do you have an opinion on whether it would be ok to simply keep more wait on the lead side early on in the swing? Seems like it might be easier to load the front leg as you discuss. Thanks again. Great video.
