    I actually really like this apartment and I LOVE the way the bed was thought out with the steps and hidden storage.

    I looooove your apartment! I read in the comments that this one is $560 and I do think it's a bit cheaper and more adorable than the ones I've watched before. Awww how I wish I could live like this one day in Japan! Take care!

    There are dryers in Japan. Every machine I've had is a washer/dryer combo. Only really cheap and older buildings have washing machine only and it would be easy to just buy a new one.

    This is awesome for me. I'm moving to Japan next March with Interac to be a language instructor like you and I've not been able to find any apartment videos using Leopalace for Interac until yours. During the interview session they mentioned the company name so i'm glad I was able to find this. This actually looks super cozy to me as I enjoy simplicity when it comes to lifestyle. I'd also enjoy the road noise for background noise.
    Anyways great video and you've made me more excited to get to Japan! I also just ordered a beginners language book off Amazon as well as a diagram sheet with verbs and other useful tidbits. If you have any tips for a beginner going to Japan only knowing basic phrases let me know!
    Thanks!

      Congrats Michael! That's so exciting! I hope you have a wonderful time! I think the Leopalace apartments are great, especially as a first apartment.
      As far as language, I recommend starting off by learning to read the Katakana alphabet and learning a few survival phrases. Especially those for buying food :) You'll be fine though. Most of my fellow teachers came with zero language knowledge and have learned a ton.

      I'll be going to Japan in March to work with Interac as well! I've been looking at some videos in regard to Leopalace. I'm bummed out that they lack a lot of kitchen space (is a foodie) but I bet I can jerryrig my apartment to make it work! I wish March would hurry up!

      @@brittanysmall7514 Haha yes I am very ready for March! I can understand the kitchen space thing but I don't mind it too much. I'm looking forward to living a little bit more simply and cozily! Maybe I'll see you at training!

      If I remember correctly there was already Wifi but we had to purchase our own wireless router.

    Thanks for this, very informative and interesting. I notice the sliding door insulates the sound of the traffic from the street, am I right?

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! Thanks for watching. You're correct it does insulate the sound but it's not 100% sound proof. You still hear street traffic but luckily this road isn't so busy.

      Hey there! The one the apartment came with was not a smart TV. You'd have to purchase your own smart TV to do that.

    Hi! I would be having the same apartment unit as yours! I would just like to know the size of the bed please? Is it the usual single bed size? It seems so small in the video. Thanks in advance!

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Arisa_ DESU Hi there! It is a single size bed. It was similar to the twin size beds college dorm rooms usually have.

      Krissy Estrada thanks! Also, I saw you placed some designs in your apartment. Are we allowed to drill on the walls for additional shelves or racks?

    • @holakrissy

      Arisa_ DESU Arisa_ DESU Unfortunately no 😕 Everything I put up was done by using blue tack or double stick tape.

    Just interviewed with Interac, waiting to hear back, and praying (if I get the job) I get placed in Aomori @_@ I'd be so thrilled LoL
    How long have you been there?

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Kayleona I've been here in Okayama for 7 months now. Next month I'll be moving to Yokohama and starting a new contract with Interac there :) Don't be afraid tell them exactly where you want to be or your deal breakers. They worked with me on my request to be in a mid-sized city.
      Good luck and I hope you get the placement you want!!

    • @OkaeriKairii
      @OkaeriKairii 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! My recruiter said that it sounded pretty promising to get placed in Aomori since pretty much no one actually REQUESTS to be there. Though I need to get the job first! LoL

      Yes I did! I got put in Hokkaido, and about 30 minutes away from a major city.

    How do you deal with any neighbor noises?

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't really had that issue come up. From my experience, Japanese people are quiet and respectful of noise. Honestly I think that I'm probably the loud neighbor because I love listening to music. But I do my best to show them the same respect they show me.

    It seems like a lot of Leopalace's look the same. Or is it just around the area? I'm pretty sure I saw another Japanese apartment tour video with the same layout as yours. (Just curious)

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Hanami Dango Yes, many Leopalace apartments have the same general structure. You'll only see slight variations with the hallways or closets. First floor apartments will have wood floors and second floor apartments will have carpet (to help with noise).

    hey, just wanna' ask you how much is the rent cost in leopalace?

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It varies depending on location to public transpo, square footage, and the amount of new amenities. This was about $560 and about a 20 min bike ride from Okayama town center.

  • @vankilsing

    Did you deal with leopalace on your own of did your employer do that? if you did, how was it?

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +vankilsing My company set up my apartment when I came to Japan but if your company is not assisting you with housing, Leopalace is still one of the easier places to deal with. It's affordable, they have places ALL OVER Japan, and they're very foreigner friendly. It's a good short term option if you're living on your own.

    • @vankilsing
      @vankilsing 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for replying so quick! yeah, it seems like its the best option for a furnished apartment. how is the internet from your experience? ive read that some people find it to be a hassle.

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +vankilsing Most Leopalaces come with internet included in your rent, so from day one you can hardwire in. You will have to buy your own wifi router. The internet speeds aren't great, especially at peak times (weekdays after 5pm). I usually don't have problems with Netlix though and I know some of my male friends are able to play games online without much hassle.

      ah i see. i read somewhere that you have to re-login to the internet each time. is that still true?

    • @holakrissy

      I have to relogin with my cellphone every time but not my laptop.
