    I also wish I had more discipline when I was an undergrad, and I like your thoughts on being an adult and being back in school. They're very motivating. I think it's time for me to go back too! BTW, which do you like better, UCLA or Berkeley?

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really is a whole different perspective coming back. I'm finding you get so much more value because you have a clearer idea of your goals at this point and you can more easily cut out the noise. I mean- I gotta choose my school... There's a reason I'm doing THIS program versus the others but UCLA is in my top list. Fantastic option as well.

    • @joeyp1927
      @joeyp1927 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@holakrissy Yes, I guess this time around you're coming back for a singular purpose and not to socialize or find yourself or have the "college experience." Although I kind of want that last one! I was back at Cal last year (seems like yesterday) and I found myself not just wanting to be in school but longing for that 'experience'. Especially just walking among the throngs of happy students. Harder to cut out the noise on Sproul! ;)

    hey, just wanna' ask you how much is the rent cost in leopalace?

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It varies depending on location to public transpo, square footage, and the amount of new amenities. This was about $560 and about a 20 min bike ride from Okayama town center.

    Did you deal with leopalace on your own of did your employer do that? if you did, how was it?

    • @holakrissy

      +vankilsing My company set up my apartment when I came to Japan but if your company is not assisting you with housing, Leopalace is still one of the easier places to deal with. It's affordable, they have places ALL OVER Japan, and they're very foreigner friendly. It's a good short term option if you're living on your own.

      thanks for replying so quick! yeah, it seems like its the best option for a furnished apartment. how is the internet from your experience? ive read that some people find it to be a hassle.

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +vankilsing Most Leopalaces come with internet included in your rent, so from day one you can hardwire in. You will have to buy your own wifi router. The internet speeds aren't great, especially at peak times (weekdays after 5pm). I usually don't have problems with Netlix though and I know some of my male friends are able to play games online without much hassle.

    Just interviewed with Interac, waiting to hear back, and praying (if I get the job) I get placed in Aomori @_@ I'd be so thrilled LoL How long have you been there?

    • @holakrissy
      @holakrissy 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kayleona I've been here in Okayama for 7 months now. Next month I'll be moving to Yokohama and starting a new contract with Interac there :) Don't be afraid tell them exactly where you want to be or your deal breakers. They worked with me on my request to be in a mid-sized city. Good luck and I hope you get the placement you want!!

      Thanks! My recruiter said that it sounded pretty promising to get placed in Aomori since pretty much no one actually REQUESTS to be there. Though I need to get the job first! LoL

      Yes I did! I got put in Hokkaido, and about 30 minutes away from a major city.

    It seems like a lot of Leopalace's look the same. Or is it just around the area? I'm pretty sure I saw another Japanese apartment tour video with the same layout as yours. (Just curious)

      @holakrissy 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Hanami Dango Yes, many Leopalace apartments have the same general structure. You'll only see slight variations with the hallways or closets. First floor apartments will have wood floors and second floor apartments will have carpet (to help with noise).
