    I just switched from 2 xs power d3400 and an xp3000 for an 80ah lto bank, I actually bought them from showtime electronics after seeing EXO's video a couple weeks ago. I was on the fence about LTO for a while but I couldn't pass up the price. I have the same LAF case with the Jims Machineworx standard bars. Looks amazing. I have a 320 amp singer alt that charges up to 15.3 volts. The difference in available power is ridiculous. Never below 13.9 in the city, never below 14.8 highway and that's playing loud enough that the fans for the taramps smart bass 8k turn on in the winter. Also the fact that when I'm driving down the highway, when the bass hits I don't feel my car slow down and the rpm's go up anymore. It is a massive benefit. The sub sounds different as well. Must not be clipping as much.

      AGM are a waste of money these days. Too big, too heavy, too expensive, and one small LTO or even life p04 will do 3 or 4 times as much as an expensive AGM. Plus the lithium have higher resting voltage and fast recharge rate.

    The problem with LTO cells is that they quickly shift into the koyaanisqatsi mode when SOC is over 80%, so only charge them with a maximum of 2.55 volts per cell. Approximately +-60AH is sufficient charge.

    Great video,my confusion is the BMS/balancer. Looks like you used tge 6s one on the 80ah 12cell build. But the big jeff Audio 12 cell kit has a 8s one. Just trying figure it out bc i recently got 12 cells and already have a hetec 4s/6s bms but not sure if it will work.

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Basically when using these for car audio applications you are essentially joining 2 of the cells together like in this 12 cell setup. They are in pairs each 2 cells share a buss bar so basically even though it is a 12 cell as far as the balancer goes it’s wired like a 6 cell. If the were all separate you would have a 28 volt setup and no cells would share a buss bar. But to keep the voltage in car audio range you have multiples of 6. And so yes the 6s balancer or the 8s balancer on big Jeff will work. Just with the 8s you would only use 6 of the 8.

    Seems like alot of work. And what about the upkeep of these cells? I have a xs d3400 a mechman 240 alt. Two sundown x10v3 s in a custom ported box. One deafbonce 2100 watt amp. Big 4 . Zero Guage wire . I wanted to get more power to my subs. They are rated at 2,000 watts RMS . Should I run RMS or more. I was going to buy the deafbonce aak 4,000
    Also Considering deafbonce aak 6,000. Or should I go with deafbonce aak 8,000 watts. Longevity of subs who knows. The thing is I will need more battery reserve. LTO or AGM? I don't really want to charge batteries or worry about them

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s really not much work and these 6 cell 40 ah LTO will do what 2 or 3 xs AGM will do. You only have to charge the first time before installing into your car. After that your alternator charges them. You just need to use a $30 500 amp battery isolater for a 6 cell LTO mixed with your under hood AGM.

    So i just won a bank from exos giveaway . Am i going to need to get an alternator and voltage regular so it charges more than the 14.2 my stock is putting out. I have a ford crown vic police car. I heard these have a slightly higher output alternator due to the higher need for powering the lights on the cops cars. Or can i use the ltos on my stock set up? This is new to me.

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They will work with a stock alternator, but just make sure you use a battery isolator so they don’t backfeed your starting battery for your car. as far as alternators go, I would definitely check out Auto Tech engineering. They have great alternators that are very reasonably priced.and get you up to about 14.8 V that will make everything more optimal.

    • @theinsaneunknown

      Before you put then in your vehicle, MAKE SURE the pack is fully charged. If you do not, it will hammer on your alternator and most likely damage it. If installed correctly with a big 3 upgrade, your alternator will keep it charged. With these cells, it's highly recommended to upgrade your alternator to a High Output. Good luck and be safe with any lithium battery!

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you need one if you are using with an AGM or head acid battery. Reason is because when the car is off the resting voltage will be higher on the LTO so basically the LTO will charge the other battery since its voltage is higher until they both reach the same equal voltage. You can use without and isolator but not ideal. Isolators are cheap and easy to install. Here is an isolator that I use.
