Thanks Mike - Like you, I am also an over the top battery/ power geek LOL. Like you, I have also built way more big geek and little geek batteries in ammo boxes than what I could ever possibly use LOL. I just love building them and adding different accessory outlets and meters to them. For my Bioenno batteries I didn't want to take a chance and bought Bioenno specific chargers while I was at Orlando Hamcation when I was in the USA on one of my USA vacation trips (I saw you there) 73, 5Z4J

So to sum up the input in this video: 1.get an LFP charger, 2.connect the charger, 3.charge the battery until led turns green. Very helpful video😂

Noco chargers are great for LiFePo4, AGM, or lead acid. One charger to rule them all, and they have lots of different sizes. I use a 5A Noco for everything I need to charge.

Hi Mike. If you use power poles to charge the lower amp hour batteries (10-30ahr) do they bypass the BMS in the battery? Thank you. I appreciate your videos

Thank you so much for doing this video. I was wondering if I could use my Bioenno charger with my new Cyclenbatt, and this answers that question. Just need to get a barrel connector adapter. Thanks!!

I have the Bioenno charger. It works well, but the light has never turned green. I spoke to two different people at Bioenno and they told me because of the built in battery management system it will never let it overcharge, but it stops the light from turning green. I usually charge my batteries for about 4 hours and it gets to 14.38 and then I unplug them. I wish the green light would for feedback purposes, but it does not seem to and I guess I have to believe what Bioenno says, right?

Can I charge my 100Ah LiFePO4 using a Power Supply that produces a consistent 13.8v and 11.5 amps and a Solar Charge Controller? TIA

Good video, useful info. However, the large Bioenno charger did not seem to have a certification mark like UL, CSA, ETL, TUV. The certification by an NRTL (Nationally Recognized Test Laboratory) is required by US law for electrical products sold in the US (OSHA). The laboratories put the products through torture tests to insure there is no risk of failure. The laboratories send an inspector to the manufacturing site four times a year to insure the manufactured product still meets the requirements of the original product. The CE mark is for Europe and is not a certification but a self declaration that the product meets safety standards.

Charger #3 and #4 seem like they are just CC type chargers. Have you measured the current towards the end of the cycle to see if they monitor "tail current" as a flag to end the charge cycle?

Didn't that 40 amp charger have a max input current notation on the label of 9 amps? At that much current in (@120v) it would only be around 55% efficient. Does it really draw that much in use, please?

With all batteries heat is not your friend. The cooler you can keep q battery during charging the better for the battery. I am not saying ice cold but if you can keep it room temp by charging it slower its better for the battery. Thanks for the helpful video!

I agree with this. I check my batteries and charger temps during charging with an IR thermometer, just in case. Just once or twice, depending on how long they need to charge. I also use only Bioenno chargers specific for the battery. As I type this I am running my 50-watt VHF/UHF off my 30Ah Bioenno while I monitor the various emcomm repeaters here in Florida to keep track of Hurricane Helene. I could use a switching power supply, but thought I'd radio on battery today.

LiHV is lithium high voltage. In the R/C car racing industry, they over charge their batteries for more punch. 🤷‍♂️

    THANK YOU FOR THIS!
I was losing my flipping mind the first time I was looking for chargers.
Especially with the 100Ah batteries, I don’t think my $50 charger can charge that properly.
