    Fun Facts:
    This studio is from South Africa.
    The co-Director's sister is a real life Shaman.
    Her sister's attitude and wardrobe is reflected in the Jedi.
    They made felt plush figures for the 3D animator's to reference.

    Resonating with crystals has been a long standing element of Jedi lore, but I like the idea of a niche Jedi ability where singing can resonate and purify vast quantities of crystals. Very avant-garde.

    I never expected to like the episode with the admittedly adorable plushies, but here we are. I'll take two please 😂

    This one is definitely one of my favorite ones and it makes me tear up every time I watch it for some reason I am unaware of. I also quite like having a largely non-verbal main character. As someone who is largely non-verbal IRL most of time, its nice to see that.

    • @HotDogTimeMachine385

      Same! I'm really saving this episode as an example to show how you can totally make a non-verbal protagonist!

    I feel bad for all of the bled crystals that never got purifed. Especially kylo's cracked kyber, that poor thing must be in so much pain.

    This one caught be by surprise I must admit, for one it was nice to have the season not end on a downer like Vol. 1's "Akakiri" did, but Aau's Song did set up a nice and light Star Wars story, relative to kyber lore but also effortlessly blending a friendly environment with Aau's plush-like design, the Jedi was also a great design too.
    Compared to Screecher's Reach and Bandits of the Golak I did like how the offer to be an apprentice was made a genuine option, it was not a blunt or dire need to accompany the Jedi, Aau makes a choice without bias and thus it feels like a more hopeful conclusion than a tragic or bittersweet one.

    One of my favorite 3 episodes.
    It was so wholesome and cute and I got strangely emotional at the end.
    Nice one 😊

    Another one that I really liked! I really loved the style, Aau and her dad being some kind of bear people, and the Kyber lore. I was genuinely mad when Aau’s Dad stopped her, I was yelling at the TV “It would have been if you hadn’t stopped her, you idiot!” 😅 But anyway, as awesome as it was seeing all what all these anime studios could do with Star Wars, I really loved this season more. Seeing so many other cultures interpretations of Star Wars made every episode a blast and I can’t wait to see how they keep expanding if they do a third season!

      While I think there were a couple I liked more in the first season. I think overall this season has been better. More experimental more layered. A lot of these can also easily fit in canon timeline with less work.
      Also personally the only one I don’t really like is in the first season

    OK, now I can speak on my favs. My favs are 7 & 9. One of the main reasons is due to my past. I was not loved by my father, and my brothers parroted him. Seeing a brother and father absolutely adore their sister/daughter, and doing what they think is right to protect them went really deep for me. It's something that a bit of my core still aches for and over. One of the best birthday gifts I ever received was from my surviving brother, who, on my 29th birthday, called me to wish me happy bday, but to also apologize for how he treated me when we were young.
    🖤🤎🧡💔🧡🤎🖤
    Also, I love the animation styles. "Bandits of Golak" has a lovely grittiness & darkness, and "Aau's Song" looks almost exactly like some of my favorite childhood books. They were 3D puppet books by Grosset & Dunlap, if any of you are curious. I have collected a few during adulthood because I just love them so much.
    Thanks, guys.

    Gonna throw my hat into the canon discussion. For season 2:
    "Sith" can be slipped into Old Republic canon easily.
    "Screecher's Reach" Could be part of the early Sith War era. Best short of the season, imo.
    "In the Stars" Part of the Bad Batch/Solo/Andor era.
    "I am your Mother" Nope. Can't find a way to put this into canon.
    "Journey to the Dark Head" Part of the Sith War era.
    "The Spy Dancer" Fits in the ANH/Rebels time very well. Especially since no one was a Force user.
    "The Bandits of Golak" It could fit into the Bad Batch/Solo/Andor time well enough. One of the best Inquisitor designs btw.
    "The Pit" An example of Imperial Brutality, Slavery, and Exploitation? Easy fit into the ANH/Rebels timeline.
    "Aau's Song" Either Old or High Republic era.

    • @Geekkid124
      @Geekkid124 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'll also say, Screecher's Reach could fit into High Republic, Rule of Two potentially, but these are all solid shouts for settings.

    • @Animaniac0451
      @Animaniac0451 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      "I am your Mother" is the easiest to place. It's during the New Republic. Wedge is a celebrity after the war and they are at a New Republic pilot academy. Also we see Maz Kanata acquire Luke's saber so it's before The Force Awakens

  • @indecisivewolf5620
    @indecisivewolf5620 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you told me before I saw it that this would become my favorite episode of the series so far, I would've laughed. Nothing against the animation style, it was just after action-packed episodes like The Duel, The Ninth Jedi, Sith or Screecher's Reach I never thought the plushie animation would be so endearing. This episode makes me tear up every time I see it. Aau's Song and In the Stars are the best of season 2, in my opinion and top 5 for the series so far.

    I really enjoyed this season of Visions (my favourites were In the Stars, The Spy Dancer and Screecher's Reach), and I'm so glad there's going to be a third season of this. It can be a little bit hit-or-miss at points, as is to be expected of an anthology show, but the sheer amount of creativity present in both the stories and various animation styles is really a joy to witness. This may sound like quite the big statement, but I think Visions (along with Andor obviously) is the best thing to come out of Star Wars on Disney Plus

    Except for the classic "Jedi must take children away from their parents" this was my favorite. The style as well as the story

    • @LuisHernandez-ks3oh
      @LuisHernandez-ks3oh ปีที่แล้ว

      If the parents don't want to let the kid go, they stay. Jedi have their own path, they will not stay near the kid's house for years to complete their training. Specially with a parent that might disagree with some aspects of Jedi training, thus making the training difficult, or impossible.
      I agree with the Jedi. Take em' or leave em' no in-between.

      @@LuisHernandez-ks3oh Only Sith deal with absolutes. And wasn't that rigid isolation and emotional cruelty EXACTLY THE THING that led to Vader's creation and the Jedi's downfall?

    I am in the minority but this is one of my least favorites (which isn't saying too much as I really enjoyed all of them). The music/animation is great, no issue there, but I think I am just kind of over the 'precocious child' trope which came up in at least two others, and watching her carelessly on the cliffs gave me anxiety. I also really loved the general concept and worldbuilding regarding the kyber, and that she has an inborn ability to sense and purify them, and I love the idea of sensing it as a song, but the idea that she's just able to purify the whole planet was too much for me.
    I also really love the design/demeanor of the Jedi character. It's really just that I want to know more about the purifying process, which is clearly a special ability, but I want to know why/how she is able to do it so easily and how she learned that. I'm always slightly bored by characters who just are effortlessly powerful. Raw power is one thing, but I'd like to know more about how she purifies the crystals.
    Screecher's Reach and The Spy Dancer were probably my favorites.

      Completely agree there about both the positives and negatives. The art style is so cool, as well as the music, but the second Aau started singing I somewhat rolled my eyes. The magical voice thing has been done better before and I was definitely not interested in that side of the plot.
