Glad to see you guys really happy about the show. So to answer Rick's question The High Republic lasts from around 500BBY to 100-50BBY (with it being closer to the 100bby range as it’s already over during dooku’s time as a Jedi) so roughly 400 Years. No. Not "like that" in a freaking vaccuum. I'm really glad you guys liked it. I remember being really optimistic about this show leading up to it, (pretty rare for me) and being just a bit underwhelmed. I definitely don't think it's bad, I'm enjoying it enough to want to keep watching as more episodes release, but there's something about it that I'm not smart enough to explain that makes it feel underwhelming to me. But it definitely isn't bad, I'm looking forward to seeing more, and it's nice to see such positive responses here!
It seems like the show is going to be depicting legitimate issues that "common" people could have with the Jedi Order. Every power structure that exists, no matter how well intentioned always ends up harming/disenfranchising people.
It very much reminds me of the most hated arc that was ever done in clone wars which was the ahsoka walk about arc. Which in the years since it's come out. I feel is less about a soca coping with the loss of being a jet. I no longer as opposed to what it really seems to be about. Which is what the common people view the jedi. Order as So close to the rise of the empire
I watch Blind Wave a lot but I had no idea Rick was autistic, I also don't understand what that means in terms of needing headphones/earphones, can any explain?
@@SGz_Eliminated autism takes many forms and is different among everyone who is autistic. However, for a lot, very loud and sudden noises can be quite triggering and cause some to either shut down or have other noticing affects. I can't exactly speak for Rick and how it affects him, but I imagine he's wearing them to cut down on sudden noises that are too loud and sudden for him that can cause him to react in a certain way.
They were shot in the back by people they thought were their allies in a war they have been fighting for years. A lot of them having formed connections with those clones. Not once have we seen a direct head to head where a Jedi is against somebody with a blaster and loses. And when it comes to the death at the beginning of episode 1 May was clearly outmatched even though she pulled out her knives. She 100% would have lost of it were not for her baiting the Jedi into saving the civilian instead of focusing only on her.
If the source of the fuel, heat and oxidiser is coming from the ship, then a fire even in the vacuum of space is perfectly possible Like literally because physics.
Based on what we have seen from the Old Republic, the technology in Star Wars doesn't really change. The artistic choices and designs change slightly, but astromechs and protocol droids stay reletively the same. In fact I would argue that during the High Republic some things like Ships and outfits should actually look newer and more artistically grand than during the Prequels and especially during the Originals.
My prediction is that the Jedi tried to take Osha to be trained and Mae lashed out in response to being separated from her twin. Maybe the fire was started as a result of her actions but not necessarily with the intention to crisp her family.
Just immediately finished the first episode. It’s Good so far, I’m liking it but felt like there were some moments that were abit iffy. But still it’s fine, I’m enjoying these reactions as well
I'm not sure quite what to make of Yord. He's seems like very much by the book, and also humble and admits when he's wrong, but also kind of a dork making a lot of mistakes. Maybe uptight is the best description, quick to draw his saber. A good guy, but very flawed.
7:52 - All you need for fire is oxygen and fuel. They said a valve ruptured. Pipes can carry fuel and/or oxygen so the fire is well within reason. It would probably look a bit different due to a lack of gravity, but even that can be mitigated if there's a force pushing the gas out of the pipe at the right speed.
Yes this, if the heat, fuel and an oxidiser is coming from the ship A fire can burn even in the vacuum of space, It does seem unintuitive so I wouldn't knock people for thinking it can't, but for anyone trying to bash the show for it All they're doing is demonstrating a lack of some scientific curiosity.
I am so glad I have Blind Wave, Star Wars Explained, and ForceCenter Pod to go to in a hotly stupid culture war internet. We positive vibes people gotta stick together, you know? Really enjoying the show so far! For Light and Life!
wow i had no idea rick was autistic That's awesome! I'm autistic as well, highly functional and relatively independent, so i'm proud of knowing there's an ultra-fan of star wars out there who is on the spectrum!
There is a strong possibility that Sol, and the other three Jedi went to Osha's home planet, but they didn't do everything together. Indara may have been in charge, and Sol was just told that Mae started the fire and that the others tried to save her but couldn't. Everything he "knows" might just be Jedi hearsay, and he trusts them to tell the truth.
Im worry about the Weinstein assistance view and comments saying R2D2 is lesbian, wth? honestly for me was really hard to watched the series your reactions took the good parts of the show but still I did rolled my eyes to some things here.... This show is off to a heck of a start. I'm 💯% on board. Funny that the haters are already out there screaming. I'm happy to ignore them. They aren't my effecting my enjoyment of Star wars ❤
Let's not forget, the Jedi aren't perfect. When recruiting force users it may be that once they're recruting or bringing a youngling in, a sibling would be in the mix, but once they meet face to face problems may occur...it's obvious something happened during this meeting. Twin sisters separated. Fire happened. Revenge is sought. Questions now need answered. I love the drama.
I honestly liked the first 2 episodes, gave me big KOTOR vibes, despite not in the same era. We also get to see a lot of force usage just in the first 2 episodes.
how are you a grown man and legitimately get bummed by the opinions of randos on the internet over content geared for kids. why would you ever admit to this
I'd like to believe that the Master is a Sith given the allusion to the Sith code. With the Acolyte being 100 years before the Empire, that puts the current Sith Lord being Darth Plagueis or his master, Darth Tenebrous (assuming Tenebrous is canon). We know Sith are still operating in the shadows, having yet to reveal themselves to the Jedi since that takes place in Phantom Menace. The philosophy at the end is interesting. The Jedi being in a proverbial dream shared by all and that dream is killed when a Jedi is killed without a weapon. Hopefully we'll see more of this Master and find out if he's actually a Sith or simply a dark-side user who adopted certain tenets of Sith ideology.
I almost feel like Indara sacrificed herself.. when they both realize there's a barkeep left there.. Indara looks like she doesn't want to kill Mae and knows the only way this ends if someone dies.. and if she killed Mae.. there would be no answers for why she is there.. dying and taking a warriors death leaves bread crumbs..she knew this was the only way since she knew who Mae is and similar to Torbine.. she knew why she was there..like Torbine did
I was unfortunately not surprised Master Indara was the first murder victim. I know we'll get more of her in flashbacks to show whatever the traumatic cover-up event was.
So far, I'm really loving the show. I can see it becoming better and better if we get multiple seasons like Game of Thrones, Clone Wars, or Andor. A lot of great potential with new characters and new world-building Star Wars lore. Can't wait for more!
Man it’s so refreshing to actually go to a video or some sort of reaction/review to this show without an overwhelming level of hate. These guys have such a way of content creation and a community 👌
All of the SW reactors I follow are predominantly positive. Wave Squadron, Kyle Katarn, Reel Rejects, pReview’d, and the odd other one. Reel Rejects will be a little more vocal about things they don't enjoy, but they aren't toxic like many other reactors out there. I don't have the time or patience for haters.
@@pkrmkn31they didn’t say that. Also it does become toxic when you fixate on it. Normal people don’t spend more time hating things they hate than liking things they like. For example, I watched madame web a few weeks ago and hated it. Gave it a negative letterboxed review and haven’t thought about or mentioned it until right now. That’s normal. The “fans” that fixate on hating everything Disney Star Wars care wayyyyy too much at this point and it comes across as obsessive. And obviously when I say this I don’t mean everyone who has criticisms. I mean the people who aren’t even willing to give newer Star Wars content any credit at all
@@alexm4163 What you are talking about is passionate people who are actual fans of a beloved franchise, who are criticising the material coming from that franchise, which is being used to spread identity politics and political correctness while aiming their newer material at people who have no interest or invest money into the franchise. All they want to do is spread messages that nobody except for a small minority of people want to hear. People are understandably upset and critical of something they once loved literally burning to the ground in front of their eyes. if you don't have criticisms of the new star wars material, and actually think its good and enjoy it, then you definitely was never a star wars fan before 2015. When the owner and the writers of a show go out of their way to specifically say that they are trying to make star wars gay, or the force is female, when there was never any gay, or sex ever even involved in star wars, that doesn't even matter, but now its the main focus to these people. Those are the people who are toxic and fixated on changing something to fit their weird narrative instead of the narrative that already exists. You actually support huge corrupt corporations toxic behaviour, yet get offended by normal people having valid opinions and criticism, its weird.

Thanks to Eric, Rick, Calvin and Aaron! 🌑 I hope Rick's *ear* *infection* heals quickly and fully. 🌿
The martial arts in this show are great
Just hoping Disney gets the lightsaber fights right for once as well

I think Indara realized she would die if she saved the bartender but she couldnt NOT save him
You’re right, Jedi have limited precognition.. some can flat out see the future though like anakin or palpatine.
It seems odd to me that she wouldn't be able to stop two knives at once, considering she is a Jedi Master.
@@lostfremen Jedi don’t always become masters because of their strength & abilities.
@@LucianPosey Indara is very clearly presented as incredibly adept at combat and her use of the force.
@@lostfremen she just seemed to have basic Jedi skills to me, but that’s my opinion.
I love that the fight choreography looks like a mix of The Matrix and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
So glad the Blind Wave/Wave Squadron community isn't ridiculously toxic like other SW communities!
It seems like the show is going to be depicting legitimate issues that "common" people could have with the Jedi Order. Every power structure that exists, no matter how well intentioned always ends up harming/disenfranchising people.
I like we're seeing the Jedi being the "peacekeeper" cops the order was supposed to be. Really like the detective element of the series thus far.
This. Yes.
Always appreciate you guys' reaction!!! Keep it up!!
i have to say it feels really refreshing seeing jedi be jedi
Poor Rick having to explain the headphones across so many videos!
"Steel or laser are no threat" to a Jedi? How many Jedi were killed by lasers during Order 66? Trinity was killed by steel at start of pilot.
@@AlexsTheWizard Steel and laser are a threat or they're not. Seems like the writers want to have it both ways.

7:47 no you cant just have fuel, you need an oxidizer or something equivalent
i really can't figure out how that "fight" scene is cool but everyone else loves it but me
About the fire in space comment... there should not be sound either. Fire was always in space in Star Wars :)
Yeah exactly, its space fantasy, not sci-fi. Never has been, and its all the more charming for it.
But still odd that a fire stopper ( i have no idea how its spelled as i'm not an native english speaker.)
Can stop it but the lack of o2 can't?
If the source of the fuel, heat and oxidiser is coming from the ship, then a fire even in the vacuum of space is perfectly possible
Like literally because physics.
7:47 "How is there fire in space"
You're asking this now!? XD /J
Just immediately finished the first episode. It’s Good so far, I’m liking it but felt like there were some moments that were abit iffy. But still it’s fine, I’m enjoying these reactions as well
I LOVE master Sol. I’ve got a feeling he will become a fan favourite.
Favourite character so far!
“How is there fire in space?”
As if any of the space logic makes sense in Star Wars…
I'd say it makes sense to consider the Invasion of Naboo the end of the High Republic era.
Yes this, if the heat, fuel and an oxidiser is coming from the ship
A fire can burn even in the vacuum of space,
It does seem unintuitive so I wouldn't knock people for thinking it can't, but for anyone trying to bash the show for it
All they're doing is demonstrating a lack of some scientific curiosity.
I am so glad I have Blind Wave, Star Wars Explained, and ForceCenter Pod to go to in a hotly stupid culture war internet. We positive vibes people gotta stick together, you know?
Really enjoying the show so far! For Light and Life!
This is some mandalorian scale of excitement. Awesome production, awesome fighting, and good dialogue.
wow i had no idea rick was autistic
That's awesome!
I'm autistic as well, highly functional and relatively independent, so i'm proud of knowing there's an ultra-fan of star wars out there who is on the spectrum!
The High Republic is roughly 500 BBY-100 BBY, so the twin suns are definitely starting to set on that era during this show (132 BBY).
Who is that voice at the end? Feel I've heard it somewhere. Marvel movie maybe?
Figured out who it reminds me of. Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin.
I always excited for this but it was better than I expected! So happy!
So far it is a good show. Solid first 2 episodes.
7:52 I was genuinely curious about this, never knew fire could burn in space
It's SW. Different galaxy 😅
I assume the ship's shields have something to do with allowing air for fires. Also star wars ships in space explode into flames all the time.
If this was The Expanse, I would be more critical. However, throughout the franchise we've heard sound in space and fire in space.
maybe if it was leaking a flammable gas?
@@smittyjjensin558 I also assume that the oxygen burning off from inside the ship
thought both episodes were great, excited to see more next week
Did you realize that Jeckie is played by Dafne Keen aka Laura/X-23 from Logan all grown up
A living, thinking Multitool is kinda f**ked up
It reminds me of a tricorder in droid form.
Im waiting to see what else they do and I will not watch any other interview from the actors, have you guys watched them?
The interviews is what made me not watch this, I’m only on this video for the comments like yours.
I can guarantee you they'll like this not good but not bad show better than Vinland Saga.
Lol, I made the exact same Fugitive joke! 😂😂
U guys and Kyle Katarn are honestly a breath of fresh air from the negative peeps out there
Loved the first two episodes. So excited for this show
I absolutely love Acolyte! I’m so bummed of all the negativity that’s surrounding it :(
You love what you love! Don't let the haters get you down 💓
Don't worry about it, no matter what gets released these days, it could be a masterpiece, and numbskulls will find reasons to slate it.
how are you a grown man and legitimately get bummed by the opinions of randos on the internet over content geared for kids. why would you ever admit to this
@@GuappoZaccagnino why are you being so dramatic
@@samsny21 what i said is dramatic and not a grown man that is getting irl bummed out over strangers opinions on SW?
I liked Ashoka…. Needed a little more heart but I liked it… season 2 will be better … love the acolyte so far
i will only be watching this how through your guys videos
I almost feel like Indara sacrificed herself.. when they both realize there's a barkeep left there.. Indara looks like she doesn't want to kill Mae and knows the only way this ends if someone dies.. and if she killed Mae.. there would be no answers for why she is there.. dying and taking a warriors death leaves bread crumbs..she knew this was the only way since she knew who Mae is and similar to Torbine.. she knew why she was there..like Torbine did
Thank you Eric for being the first person I've seen who's as amused by Osha's name and job situation as me.
I was unfortunately not surprised Master Indara was the first murder victim. I know we'll get more of her in flashbacks to show whatever the traumatic cover-up event was.
0:03 I had no idea. That explains so much...(no disrespect)
Is it bad or just hilarious when I heard “hello Osha” the voice made me immediately think “Hello mothafucka” 14:24
So glad you guys caught the Selkath, I was like Leo in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood when I saw him lol
So far, I'm really loving the show. I can see it becoming better and better if we get multiple seasons like Game of Thrones, Clone Wars, or Andor. A lot of great potential with new characters and new world-building Star Wars lore. Can't wait for more!
LFG!!!!!!!
The two episodes had me hooked, and the mystery detective vibes are strong with this one.
The fighting is fantastic, the writing leaves a bit to be desired but I'm intrigued by the "why done it" as SW Explained said.
Every time I hear "Hello osha" my brain automatically inserts the "hello motheafucka" meme lol
@@WillRose3 having an opinion and criticising something that isnt very good isnt toxic.

I'm really like the direction they are going with the show so far, especially with the tone! I'm not 100% sold on the show yet, but I have a feeling next week's episode, and the episode, after that, is going to 100% fully invest me with this show. Solid Premiere episodes, imo. The incredible fight choreography and great performances are selling me 100% on the premise of the show so far.
