I've seen other reactors say, it was just a hallucination/dream, but I have to disagree. It's possible it's a combination, but how does Jacen hear a light sabre fight if it is just a hallucination? And how does he then amplify it so Hera can hear it? It makes more sense to me, that Jacen was able to connect to the World between World's a place that multiple Jedi have, "experienced," over just a pure mind link to Ashoka, I guess.

I really enjoy Dawson as Ahsoka and you can now see why her portrayal of Ahsoka was a little different - it was Dave’s vision to have her be portrayed as someone carrying so much guilt. By the end of the episode you could already see Rosario had that Ahsoka vibe we all know and loved because she finally let go of that guilt over Anakin’s turning. I like that anakin wasn't just glorified into an inhumanly perfect mentor figure. They showed his flaws, especially in the line "Yeah, I'm joking. What would you prefer, you want me to be more serious?" It shows that the sort of humour Anakin, Obi-Wan, and even Ahsoka had, wasn't just the show being childish, it was a genuine disassociation from the violence they were in the middle of. They cracked these jokes because they'd been desensitized to the killing, it meant nothing to them, and only once Ahsoka had spent so long living after the war was she able to look back and think about how casual she had been about all that death and destruction.

    • @Flufferz626

It also showed how much she valued each and every clone. Yes Anakin had Rex and Obi-Wan Cody, but the Jedi (even Yoda) make it clear clones are expendable. Ahsoka learned (especially via Rex and the rest of the 501) that they're each their own person and deserve dignity and aren't cannon fodder.

What? Every time we get Jedi-clone interactions, it's made clear that they don't view them as expendable - there's an episode where Yoda tells clones how they're still their own people and we have Plo Koon literally spell it out that he doesn't think they're expendable in the Malevolence arc. The only Jedi we've seen who actually thinks clones are expendable is Pong Krell - who's also turned to the Dark Side.

The Jedi resqued from the citadel, for example, (Even Piell?) got a mini funeral on a lava river…Cody’s troopers on the mission, all of which who died, didn’t get a second thought, only the other clones called to them.
You have a few other scenes where Jedi lead clones in the open, charging blindly at fortified positions. The Jedi make it across the killing field…but the clones often don’t. Ahsoka even directly calls Anakin out on this during the attack on the Malevolence.

Ahsoka’s complete demeanor change after her final lesson from Anakin felt so earned. The imagery of her being bathed in water and then being up in the sky wearing all white looking angelic was so powerful, especially with Kevin Kiner's incredible score. She’s Ahsoka The White now and I thought it was an incredible way to show her character growth. Also, it was so amazing to see Hayden as Anakin with good direction and dialogue. This was easily his best performance as the character and it made me realize how much potential he’s always had. Filoni kept it vague, but him flashing between Vader and Anakin felt straight out of legends and almost as if Anakin is an otherworldly being now (Mortis god, The Father perhaps). The reason for her travelling galaxies also changes now.
Before this she was going for a hunt, she was going out of fear , agression and panic, although unknowingly. She was looking to harm thrawn. She was ready to doom her companions or use her as a means to an end...kind of rude tbh. She was pushing people away out of fear.
But now her focus has shifted to sabine and Ezra , to the rescue to protect them. Shes going to defend, shes going to save and rescue, shes going to help, her compassion has taken centre stage. Shes also more trusting of herself, and of others.
Which is literally what yoda said in ESB "A jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, never for attack" . She just basically completed her transformation into being a true jedi master.

@@TheRibottoStudios @TheRibottoStudios people do get it, except the issue is, this is a first for Ahsoka, Luke already went through it with Vader in return of the Jedi, He already learned those lessons, he acted out of fear in episode 5 and got his ass whooped, then he learned to be calmer in episode 6, and then out of anger he almost kills Vader but decided to put down his weapon and choose the Jedi path. The OT shows plenty of times what a Jedi truly means. I don't know why you're acting like only the sequels showed that. Obi wans first introduction is healing luke, immediately followed by attempting diplomacy with a stormtrooper and then showing disarming of a criminal (lol). Not once in the original trilogy does a Jedi, besides luke kill anyone.
What happened in the last Jedi wasn't really that bad to be fair, but is was very very unneeded, because he's already gotten those lessons, he knows past Jedi failed, he knows that the whole attachment forbidden thing was wrong. He chose to be his own Jedi , he learned those lessons, there was no reason for him to backtrack. I don't think he would ever pull a saber on a literal child no matter how angry he is.
He knows the dark side, he's even kept up with training according to book of boba Fett, so he shouldn't just give in because of some future visions, he's had those before too. It just didn't make a whole lot of sense timeline wise.
Fight with Ben was cool he didn't really hurt kylo/Ben although I would've liked him to actually be there and do what he did for real but that was cool too. Maybe just disarm Ben? Honorary Skywalker arm loss in the second movie of trilogy lol. What he did with kylo wasn't the issue, but how he got there was. Do I make sense? I don't know how else to explain my views lol

Ahsoka has been fighting her whole life, not giving up, yet not living, closing herself off, stern and aloof.

Watching it a second time, I feel like Ahsoka's melancholy, no nonsense attitude in the first half of the series was a result of her giving into fear in a very subtle way. She knew that the one who trained her had fallen and done evil, vile things...and he had taught her everything he knew...and perhaps she worried that she would suffer the same fate. So she tried to harden herself against it because she feared it might be inevitable.
The lesson here was that she did not need to stand in his shadow or follow his path. She could choose life....she could choose to be more...and that's what she did. Instead of striking down Anakin in that moment as a Sith would do, she made her choice to not give in. To live.
Another thing that occurred to me just this morning is the symbolism of the water, and I'm pretty sure it was intentional. It's a common rite in many religions and cultures to submerge in water or have water poured over one's self as a way of cleansing the soul and the spirit, or being reborn, or committing one's self to an ideal.
Here too, I think we see Ahsoka's rebirth from the Grey to the White, casting off her doubts and her fears and becoming her true self. This particularly hits home at the end of that sequence as she lets herself slowly be submerged in the rising water, and calmly accepting it. Very powerful imagery.

"...the symbolism of the water...It's a common rite in many religions..."
Indeed. And it also perfectly mirrors Anakin's "baptism by fire" to be "reborn" as Vader - Ahsoka chooses a different path partly _because_ she was Anakin's Padawan and can learn from _both_ his triumphs and disasters. So yep, totally intentional, i'd agree.
(it's been a minor frustration that some fans have complained about how Rosario Dawson is playing Ahsoka because to me it's been very clear even since "The Mandalorian" that she's deliberately playing her as withdrawn and somewhat broken by her experiences, almost certainly with an eye to exactly this kind of character arc, where we see her come back to herself. And sure enough, once Ahsoka's inner conflict is resolved Dawson perfectly portrays that lightness of spirit that's been missing up to now. Hopefully those people that couldn't see it before will be able to appreciate her performance all the more now)

    Hear me out.
Dave is making canon the fact that Anakin literally *is* the chosen one. This is his purpose now. The keeper of the World Between Worlds, or similarly powerful force entity. After death he continued to hone his abilities in the force and found his way to the World Between Worlds. He achieved a perfect balance of light and dark, literally becoming the embodiment of "balance." He was able to control the light and dark side of the force at will (subduing his sith eyes). Comparably, in the Clone Wars he was able to control/submit the daughter and son simultaneously. The Father wanted him to replace him as the arbiter of the force because he knew he was the chosen one. If Dave chooses, he could give us everything we've ever wanted.
Side note: I think Ahsoka's final lesson was a test of her ability to overcome her battle with the dark side. It was symbolized by her holding his RED lightsaber in that moment, and her eyes went slightly yellow. Every Jedi is tested by the dark side. Anakin lost his battle with it. Ahsoka chose to rise above her anger and guilt, and let it go. Anakin then subdued the dark side in him, said "theres hope for you yet", and sent her back to the mortal world. She learned her lesson, and from that point on, her demeanor was much more Ahsoka-like. Hopeful. Optimistic. And most importantly, fully trusting in the force.

One line he says 'i heard this before' shows to mean he has all his memory and is not past anakin but rather present and it's his spirit because Ahsoka wouldn't know that dialogue between Luke and Vader/Anakin. Jacen hearing the lightsabers and even Hera heard which to me show that it's actually happening. Hera an hear it because a portal is open. I loved how this episode showed more of the fact that Ahsoka was sadly both a Jedi AND a child soldier. What’s more is that while while the Jedi were taught to not form attachments to people, she and her master clearly broke that rule and cared for not just their men but their friends and family. The difference is that while Anakin failed and fell to the Dark Side because he couldn’t let go of those he loved, Ahsoka succeeded and learned to let go and move on.
After seeing Ahsoka having a moment of catharsis with her master, and letting go of her guilt and pain to more fully embrace the Light Side, Rosario Dawson now truly has become the Ahsoka we remember from Clone Wars! She has now truly risen and has now become tied with Luke Skywalker for me as the greatest Jedi of all time.
This is also easily the best performance Hayden has ever given as Anakin, he actually felt more like Anakin from the Clone Wars than the movies. I honestly never thought I would see LIVE ACTION scenes from Clone Wars, or even Hayden in Anakin’s Clone Wars armor!
And for those that thought “it was all in her head”, the very fact that Jacen was able to sense Ahsoka proves that she was somehow in the World Between Worlds.

If there's one thing I rate about this episode it's the fact that Dave & co knew not everyone who watched Ahsoka had seen the animated shows and chose to show us the most brutal, tragic and ugly aspects of the Clone Wars - the Jedi being forced to forsake their peaceful ways, literal *children* being pushed into military command positions, clones dying either by heroic sacrifice or by terrifying & easily preventable bloodshed. And all of that to facilitate the Sith's return to power. The visual portrayal - the fog, the dust, the fire, the all-consuming endless skyless hellscape - hammered it home. The lack of any detailed scenery in these scenes might annoy some people but the abstract feel and the atmospheric Kiner score made it work for me.

This was a landmark moment in Star Wars as a franchise. Ahsoka is such an integral and beloved part of the fandom, and the choices Anakin made and who he became must have affected her so profoundly, but were never shown as more than subtext when Ahsoka confronts Vader. This was finally digging into how the mainline story affected her so deeply and her resolving that and it was magnificent

If that scene with Ahsoka and the injured clone does take place on Ryloth, then it would presumably take place very shortly after Storm Over Ryloth, the Clone Wars episode where she struggles with that same issue. She’s probably still mourning those clones in this new scene.

It was absolutely perfect to see that episode in particular and how coming out of the flashbacks she had regained what made her great. Rosario absolutely nailed the shift in the character having had that immense weight lifted off her shoulders.

10/10 episode. This episode will stand the test of time and become one of the most legendary moments in Star Wars History. I cried at the end of it. Only because I know what ROTS had the deal with when it came to the “fans.” With me being young at the time and seeing the Prequels live in theaters, and witnessing the shit and hate fans and media give to the movies and actors (mainly Hayden), then seeing Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau work so hard to give the prequels the flavor and beauty it deserves is so satisfying. And the praise that Hayden is getting now makes me tear up since his re-entrance in Obi-Wan. This episode made me tear-up even more because this whole episode was a tribute to ROTS, Clone Wars and Rebels, pretty much all of Star Wars, which was so beautifully done.

It just hit me that this answers so many questions about what was left unsaid between Anakin and Ahsoka. I’m so deeply sad about the way things went for Anakin, but if Feloni can give us clone wars Anakin, show us that the Sith didn’t destroy all of the Anakin we loved, I’d feel like that’s redemption, that Luke truly saved the best of his father, I need to believe that. They just need to turn Star Wars over to Feloni at this point and make him Star Wars Kevin Fiege, let him draw the road map at this point.
