Which "Untouched" Gen 4 Pokémon are Still the Most Useful?

  • The Sinnoh region provided many Pokémon that were already updates to past entries with evolutions or babies, but there were still plenty more that have seen no updates since Diamond and Pearl, and even more that haven't even seen so much as a significant story arc and have really been left behind in terms of any attention, but these Pokémon are still great, so let's shine a light on these underrated beauties and see if we can bolster their profiles on our own!

      @@Socioromanticism And what's even worse is that because it's so unbelievably dense in muscles, it sinks in water and cannot swim. But by running in the waterbed, it goes fast and deals a lot of damage in rivers. In some cases, it goes faster than it can on foot. It's not distantly related to horses for nothing.

      you know, they could actually pull that off rather well; in this regional form, Buizal/Floatzal's floatation sac would be shaped in a way so that when it inflates, it allows them to actually start floating in the air like a balloon, then they use their propeller tails to give themselves thrust, similar to an airship

    I don't think it can be overstated how useful gastrodon can be in VGC. Completely invalidating kyogre (more a gen 8 thing bc water spout was made single target by dmax) or urshifu rapid strike by switching it in when a water move is being used is so useful.
    Also, is interesting to note how much better floatzel got in gen 9 simply because it learned wave crash, made it quite a threatening swift swim user, at least in early formats

    • @matthewkuscienko4616
      @matthewkuscienko4616 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      What Rampardos needs most is more speed, seeing as it's only good stat is attack. Both the gen4 fossils are extremely flawed: Bastiodon may have extremely high defensive stats and is part steel typed, but it also has 2 different 4x weaknesses (and to some pretty good types, no less), gets no recovery, and has no other even remotely good stats. Rampardos, meanwhile, is both slow AND simultaneously frail, made worse by it's typing being bad defensively; again, it's not really wanting for more power, as it's head smash attack can deal ludicrous damage to even things that resist it, even if it does take a lot of damage itself from doing so

      I agree that stats aren't everything. But for it, stats are pretty important, just not in the way you think...Since it wasn't fast, it couldn't deal the damage it was supposed to. And since it wasn't defensive enough, it couldn't tank the damage to retaliate either. And let's not forget that it never got Rock Head, which could've given him some sort of niche somewhere in there.
