Awesome video! Great to see you fishing with your family! I used to go with my mom and dad, my mom's dad was a self employed fisherman (he saved and bought his own boat). My dad (passed 8 years ago, RIL), but he said my mom is the best fisherman!
This is a great experiment.. I always have all of these 3 baits and squid with me every time .. if something is not working move it o the next … sand fleas always get but the most but quick to miss the bites
I can’t believe how well the egg loops keep shrimp on! I tied a bunch after watching your video and left a couple of shrimp on overnight. Never caught a fish but both shrimp were still anchored by my loop. A lot of little nibbles in the shrimp from bait steelers but didn’t get them off my hook or loop.
Awesome! If you found this helpful you gotta check out my website, I custom make a ton of gear to help you with your next fishing trip! www.heyskipperfishing.com 😄
I tell everybody that asks me WHY I catch more fish than they do that YOU are the reason! I tie my own “catch all” rigs thanks to that vid you made a few weeks ago and have been using fishing thread for almost a year! One day, I caught 5 hardheads, 2 BIG Black Drum, and a 42” Red Drum all on the SAME FRESH DEAD SHRIMP thanks to that fishing thread! I shouldn’t have bought a pound of shrimp that day! So, I made salt-cured shrimp… that I also learned from you!

@@yogabagaba36 aww dude, I am not sure. It was probably like six months ago? He may have deleted it. Maybe I will make a video showing the same. It works really well and doesn’t need much extra tackle. I only buy swivel clips and weight swivels. I have caught 20#+ Black Drum and Red Drum on it with no problem. I make mine with 50# mono leader and 25# Fluero hook leads with a 1/0 Gama Octopus hook.
On your sandflea vs artificial sandflea vid you say you don’t like to use plastics or artificial baits because you don’t want to pollute. But what does that bait thread do? Is it a vinyl thread. What is it made of and is it toxic to fish?

hey skipper. how nice to see your research with three types of bait. I participate in fishing competitions from the beach in the North Sea. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I don't catch fish while the fishermen next to me regularly take fish out of the water. do you have some tips for me? I follow you from the Netherlands🇳🇱.

Hey, heyskipper Nice video but ive also got a question, im having trouble casting my conventional reel far, its 4o but i dont use a long rod, its only a 4-5 ft rod is that the problem?
Hey Meek. I'm not the Skipper but hope this helps. In general a longer rod will help your cast. It will also depend how rigid it is, how much sinker/bait weight you have, the size of the reel, and the thickness of your line. Having said that, I'd argue that overhead reels and short rods are best utilised on a boat, or when ballooning/kayaking/drone-dropping your bait out.
@@nicoibzschalin-hr4bj Maybe. It could also be that you're fishing in dark waters. And there's nothing wrong with that or with catfish. This type of fish is one of the most popular here in the Atlantic Coast of Colombia because the waters and sand in Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta (where I'm at) is dark. Dark doesn't mean dirty. It's just a geological factor. You can still sell it or eat it. But if you go 45 min North of Santa Marta you start finding very beautiful beaches with transparent waters and yellow almost white sand. You can catch other type of fish in these areas and in La Guajira. I've been to Panama City, but never fished there. But I do know that Panama has beautiful beaches too. But what I'm getting at, is Hey Skipper or any other angler from the States NEVER uses octopus as bait. Octopus and squid are my favorite because their skin and meat is hard and elastic and it will never fall off the hook. Rather in shrimp, it can fall off when you cast and it's easily bitten off by small fish. I never use shrimp because of this and I hate tying it with a thread. I think gringos should try octopus just to see what happens.

Shrimp is always good bait. The fresher, the better, but salted stays on better.

Are bluefish edible?
Cool ❤
If u wana catch more blue fish then cut up 1 blue and use it for bait
Why don't you use bells on your rods? They really help while you're distracted.
Isn't Bluefish delicious? You always return the fish to the water.
I like blue fish. But you have to eat them fresh. Like same day fresh. But others don't like them. They are high in mercury though.
i think most peopke dont like it due to its reallly pungent fishy taste
