i thought i was the laziest fisher. i use WAAAY oversized reels and overkill braided line with circle hooks so there is no need to "set" the hook. the fish does all of the work. im about to buy a 15' rod to put my 10000 size reel on with 100lb braid and a 24/0 circle hook. trying for a shark.
I catch sharks on 10 foot rods 30 pound braid size 60 fishing reel 60 pound fluorocarbon Number 7 Demon Circle hook big hunk of mullet I’m 61 I’ve been doing it all my life
I was in Pismo a few years back and sand fleas were everywhere. Grab a flea rake and learn how to harvest them for bait. I was not in Pismo to fish unfortunately.

I have 2 spring loaded rod holders from china, however they’re illegal to use in my area so I don’t set the spring. Can’t wait for the weather to warm up in Canada so I can get back to fishing. 14:22 that line snap was crazy.

You know that that is a bad design for a rod .cause when you cast with that typ of reel the line rotates off the spool and slapps that metal bracket and weakenss or even snaps the line .there is not enough clearance space .

Atleast if you hook a big tuna or bill fish your already rigged with heavy enough line and enough of it to get the fish in without bullying it in..
That's actually better so you can not overly exhaust some fish in a fight if you're going to release them.

They're not the ones you bought on wish or geek are they? I remember they work but after a few casts the self striker spring function started to fail.
