Same issue with me i am using Note 8 and i did all the steps 1by1 but it when i go chat features it is not connected and even when i did verified my number

Also it says "chat" in the text field for RCS and "text" it's SMS as soon as you click the person's name. Take a look at that before your start typing. You don't necessarily have to go into details.
You can also look at the conversation compose bar for a "Chat Message" rather than a "Text Message". It's the type of thing most people overlook

RCS is amazing. Unfortunately not many would do those steps which they consider complicated. I hope they make this default through update for all android devices.

I did this on a couple of my friends with sprint phones and it was already there. But the part where u do the google sandbox thing wasn’t done so it still was working and different. So I did the steps anyway and works perfect. Sending perfectly clear videos no matter the length. Thx I heard it here first.
Yeah I have a note 9 on sprint and i didn't have to do anything except become a beta tester for messages, I did the steps anyways though and nothing changed so I'm super confused as to why I was able to get Google's RCS messaging without having to do any of the steps
ohma geddon well I know with sprint it has a version that can only be used between sprint customers and android messages was always capable it was just up to the carrier. The ppl that had it in my experience are all sprint. I’m Verizon

Hi! I think it's enough to look at the place where you have to write, if you see "chat message" or "Text message". However, thanks for this information! In Argentina, this service is available just for users of one of the three main companies (Claro) about two months ago. I hope it's available for everyone soon.
Is it possible to add or enable both your numbers to Google RCS chat if your on dual or eSIM ? Seems once you add 1 number Google won't allow to add a second ?

I have an unlocked note 10 plus but I don't have half those options under the chat section in settings, the option to turn rcs on and off is there but it never says connected or anything. What am I missing?
Also when you test someone your bubbles are light blue if it's sms and dark blue with white text if it's rcs. And on the bubble where you click to write your message if someone is connected via RCS it says "chat message" but if not it says "text message"
In Poland, you can still not configure it according to your guide, in addition, messages are not encrypted end to end and potentially a few moves and I can get to the message on such a phone - it's worth the risk ??

Same. Though I know a few people who specifically use iMessage which I thought was RCS by default. And yet they still show up as normal SMS ... I feel like there is a bug

@@brucekoostachin5763 I'm sure you have found what you need by now! I have 3 of my regular textee's who have chat. They have a blue dot on their names & all the benefits of chat. Shows typing, read or just delivered. Also they have a pretty blue message background instead of the drab green. Very handy to have & I'll be glad when all have it. Mine came on automatically after an update. I accidentally found the settings for it in my sms settings. And as stated it was on automatically! Have a blessed day!
What if you chose sms when you got a new phone for one contact and now want to change it back to rcs? Theirs comes thru to me as rcs but I cannot change it back. There is no toggle in that convo anymore
This RCS just started on my Samsung 22 I got last yr. I want it off , unable.

How do you get group messaging to work with people who do not have this? It seems when people who have iphones send a group message I only get a notification that says message expired. I can not send picture or gifs in group message either
Though this video is old, I have a question...what would cause an rcs conversation to revert back to sms with someone who I was using rcs with? It's complicated, but I'm unable to ask if they changed any settings to their phone or our text messages. I was relying on rcs to tell me if they were receiving/reading my texts. They're not tech savvy, so unless someone changed their settings, I don't know what happened. Suggestions?

I just a friend of mines I noticed that his response was dark blue compared to other so while he was texting me the bubbles poped up then I seen where it said he read my message he got some Android but he didn't install his chat message in his must of came like that ...the features is diffenantly there.

Hey i done everything as you told, But my chat status is still stuck in connecting...
Under chat features it said unavailable on this device (Note 9) that my carrier does not support this feature... I'm on TMobile....
Im on TMobile as well and didn't get that message. Im showing as connected but none of my contacts show as also using RCS. Even though I know a few do.
Mine was working..now its orange n says connecting..... any help?

It works on Metro. Should also work on tmobile.
So I only had one conversation with someone when I hit the details button their was no options. So what does that mean? Cuz I'm connected otherwise thx in advance but answer that one

Is the google app the only way to use rcs messaging? because my note ten plus has an rcs messaging option and it seems my pics are sending in high quality when sending to my wifes note ten plus!
Robert Cortes some Samsung Messages RCS works depending on your carrier. For me, Samsung Messages RCS works when I text other people on AT&T. Sprint RCS works with other carriers that support Google's RCS when using Samsung Messages or Google Messages.

I cannot get it to work with my Note 10. Carrier T-Mobile. It reads Your carrier does not currently support this feature.
I'm confused, After the steps it said i was done that first day. Now it say chat features is not unavaiable for this device.

The other way you can check if it's enabled too and is quite a bit easier is that it will say in the text box where you enter your message, if RCS is enabled it will say "Chat Message" and if it is not enabled it will say "Text Message"

I have a concern here, lets see..
If I n my friend use RCS - I m connected to internet and I send chat message! But when my friend is not online he doesn't get it at all.. not even as text message! Until he connects to internet he doesn't get the message !

While my phone does show 'connected' i have no others showing they are. I know some of them specifically use iMessage which is RCS. So why don't I have that option to send SMS under details?
iMessage and RCS are actually not yet cross supported (why would Apple give away a large pull factor of their iMessage system?)
I'm kinda confused myself because I have a Sprint Note10+ and my wife a S9+ and we have ALWAYS been able to use this feature between us on Samsung stock messaging app. We can see the message has been delivered and that it has been read and three wavy dots when we are replying. So what you are saying is that we will be able to use this feature with all types of phone manufacturers on any carrier? If we use Google messages of course.
Limited phones had this ability due to manufacturer, phone model and carrier. This video as stated is the ability for ALL android phones on ANY carrier.
You dont have to do anything then...this is for people that their carrier or messaging app doesnt support this feature.
It's because Sprints supports Google's RCS so it works with other carriers that support the same kind of RCS.
Went through all ten steps... Didn't get the upgrade. .....service not available in my location

If I have trouble convincing people who use WhatsApp to switch to Signal, Telegram, that require only a few steps, why they would follow to enable RCS following more steps with technical details?

Another way to tell is the text box shows chat message then the other party has RCS. When they don't have it the box will show SMS.
This would be amazing if Google could make it work on wifi tablets. So all devices are able to send and receive in real time. I search the Google play store for my samsung wifi tablet and I can't find the Google massaging app for my tablet.

Try to restart her phone and it will connect.
@@brahimboulahmel tried that as well. During set up process it gave the check mark with circle around it but never connected it kept saying setting up and then connecting
@@xtqu1ckx hey uninstall the app....reinstall make sure you get the beta ....then do it again open it ...then force close it
Note: Chat bubble color for the texts were sent though RCS turns into light navy blue :)
The other thing is the color of the sent message bubble. The ones with RCS enabled are Dark Blue and the one without RCS is lighter blue.

I have metro PCS note 9 it works using this method for me I followed the steps from both videos videos he's referring to and tested it out as well

Depends on your phone. I heard that some phones are starting to not work as manufacturers are maybe blocking it

but we already got WhatsApp for rcs why do we need to go through all this process to have it on google messenger if someone will still have to download it. only solution is that newer android phones will have it preinstalled.

Just look in your text box while in your message thread, if says text message the other person doesn't have it. If it says chat message they do have it.

It's years later and you still have to click each and every one of your contacts to know whether they have RCS or not. Imessage just highlights your contacts with blue colour. Google messages is years behind on ease of use
They say that RCS messages are not encrypted and can be viewed by 3rd party apps.

Well it kinda defeats the purpose when majority of people aren't using it any unless it's pre installed and ready to go when someone buys a new phone then the average consumer is not gonna waste there time setting it up once they get there phone. Plus if it doesn't work with iPhone which would probably be the biggest appeal then I don't see many people careing.
All you gotta do is look where your typing it will say chat or text ....easy
