You must have done this a million times Bro, because I made the biggest mess know to man. One time it was my fault because I forgot to put the plug back in when I was venting it. There was no real way to know how much to fill it before the vent process so I'm not sure I did that right because ink got pull back into the syringe every time, but yours was just air. Hmmmm, I'll guess we'll see when it's time to print...

I am having trouble refilling only the black ink cartridge. The ink just keeps bubbling out when i try to refill it. it's not full the cartridge is empty.

downloaded the firmware the ink is not coming out. I did all your steps after I had tried it with the plug and chip holder in. now I see streaks but not the full image and/or text. Please advise.

Activation successfull, all colors show full. I only put the black tank in, the rest are chipped. I cannot get black to print, just slight shadows.

Do I have to install chipless firmware? I actually don't know what that is or what its' for? Can you explain to me, please. I am sooooo new to all this. I am buying this exact printer used. And will be converting it to sublimation. I have already seen videos on how to clean the ink jets and will be buying empty cartridges/ink.
I hate finding these videos "after the fact" I had to figure out on my own to pull the opaque plug to fill instead of the colored plug. AND I did not know about those plastic tabs that needed removed prior to inserting into the printer. Needless to say, "some things" got broke. Now I need to get past the error message of "ink cartridge is not installed correctly." As for the firmware update, i believe i did all that when i initially set up my printer. Im 3 seconds and one beer away from tossing this thing out, and i dont drink.
Find your activation key and/or recovery code from your chipless Firmware purchase.
Then start your printer in update mode like the video shows to install the firmware. If you try to update the firmware in normal mode, you may encounter issues installing due to the ink cartridge error.
After installing the chipless Firmware, your cartridge error will go away and your printer will always read "Full".
Maaaaan who you telling I had to look at the video and see he never put them back on I was going crazy wondering why it wasn’t working thinking I did something wrong now I need to know what’s the process for filling them back up once the ink runs low

Popup box will not display once Activate Online is selected thus preventing us to input key. Any Suggestions or fixes??

The firmware update won't complete the installation.
HELP!!!!! I accidentally downloaded the activation file first. So I uninstalled everything for the printer. Then I started over. I clicked the firmware file, and have have been sitting here for over 30 minutes. The ON light is still flashing but I haver no choice but to turn off the printer, as it is 1:23am. Please help.

Yes. Install chipless and place your sub cartridges in.
Everything works until I get to the part where i have to go to the link provided and try to download if anyone could help it will not download it and it doesnt do anything from there.
Can you use a Mac with Windows software being run on a virtual machine or does it have to be an actual Windows machine? Just wondering bc I haven’t used Windows in years and would have to get ahold of one of my kids old computers and see if they still work…
I believe you can use a virtual machine in mac environment . I havent used a Mac in years.

It lets the printer think that there is always ink cartridges in the printer and they are always full.
This will let you use the chipless refill cartridges and use any ink.

After doing this, I tried to print something in my cricut design space to sublimate, and it isn't printing the colors right. When I try to print orange it turns a hot pink color...even my gray has a slight pink tint to it. Any suggestions? Also I have refillable cartridges with chips still on them. Would that possibly be the problem & do I need to remove them with this software? @dynamitegorilla

Everything is set up by these directions (btw it’s awesome) overever it’s printing blank 😢. Any suggestions?
Make sure that the vent plugs are removed from the cartridges. If not it will print blank. Also make sure that the cartridges are primed. There should be a little ink inside the center circular chamber of the cartridges.
@@McZell I did I figured it out. I cleaned the nozzles several things. That was the issue.
How can I fix this. My screen on select the printer doesn't say USB and then I got a pop-up that says the printer is not connected or is not the target printer?? I'm lost as to how to fix this

Yes it can. After installing the cartridges with sublimation ink, print like 3 purge files...you'll be able to tell on the print where the ink has switched over. You can find purge files all over the net.

@@McZell alright I have an update. I followed your suggestion of printing a purge file, however it didn’t work too well. I had to go to the printer properties from the system tray, maintenance tab then do a print head cleaning. Did a print head nozzle check to verify if I needed to repeat then did a purge page and it worked like a charm!

Activation chips? What issues are you having. The xp4105 is good for beginners.
@@McZell I bought a new 4105 from walmart. I followed your instructions to the letter, along with inkchip. The firmware loaded but the activation key came up in another language I could not read, I sent pics to inkchip. They kept insisting that I did not install the firmware properly. I purchased another activation key. Didn't work. It was still in another language, so I could not do anything with it. It's okay. You have to eat a peck of dirt before you die. I ate close to 300.00 worth. I'm going to a real sublimation printer. No more conversions for me.

In order to install the chipless firmware you'll need a PC running windows. Once it's installed you can connect it to your MacPro and it will still be chipless.
Got it downloaded but the black ink (when it prints) has a line through it. How come?
Make sure that the cartridge is primed (ink in the circle). And dona nozzle check to make sure you aren't missing any lines.

Do you know if there is a chipless firmware for the 7820
There is not unfortunately. When the printers were released, they (chipless firmware makers) thought they would have it done within a year. But, apparently the newer printers firmware is harder to assemble.
Also if you update the firmware on the 7820,7840 the 3rd party chips (the ones the sell on Etsy, etc) won't work.
At this point I would try to find an alternative for a sublimation printer if you were considering a 7820/7840. I would only use those as a temporary solution.
The XP15000 was $349 forever, until more people started using it for sublimation and DTF. Now it's creeping towards the $450 range. I would look into that as well.

yes.
My printer didn’t start up with setup mode, just started up as regular. Did I miss something?
This was a new printer. If yours has already been used or if it's setting up as normal. Just install chipless and install sublimation ink cartridges.

ugh I followed every step very carefully and am stuck at the activation part. It wont let me even enter the key it says please wait or the update then a box in another language pops up and kicks me out. I KNOW I installed the firmware correctly. Everything went exactly like the video, not one hiccup. So now what do I do? I am stuck here with the printer lid open, the light flashing at me ...ugh
You may have to hit up inkchip.net. the activation connects to a server. Did you disable any antivirus or firewalls that may be running?

hello dynamite gorilla, I have the same printer but the key activation file on inkchipnet is different than the one on this video, after I extract it it gives me an activation.exe file and when I run it the program is slightly different. When I try to activate the key is says "activation code can not be recognized"

I've never had this issue when installing. Someone else did and they contacted inkchip.net support team and they were able to get them up and running.

There is no chipless for that model.
Do i need the firmware?
To print with refill cartridges yes. You can take chips from original oem cartridges and swap them out each time, but the cost of a set of Epson cartridges is higher than the chipless Firmware.

Did you disable your firewall? The software connects to the internet to activate. It might be showing up as a false positive for dangerous software.
Furthermore, you can contact inkchip support under the contact link on their website. It has always come up for me after disabling my antivirus and firewall. Also try right clicking and running as administrator.
