Thank you for explaining all the ways you found. This video was so helpful!
THANK YOUU. THANK YOUUU. I have the same exact printer and only used it a few times for regular projects. I just ordered the kit and the paper you used - Life saver thanks so much!
Yayyy! So glad it worked for you too!
Where can I get the pack from
Thank you for posting this. Great at teaching!!! Came out so nice
Glad you liked it!
How is your converted printer working after a couple months? I have the same printer & a Epson WF printer I plan to convert. Good video! Thanks for info!
Amazing! I’ve used it to sublimate so many shirts, totes and coasters! No issues yet 🤞🏼 I say go for it!
Hello which paper settings to choose for sublimation paper? I just unboxed mine as it came as a sublimation printer but I can't find the sublimation paper choice.
I believe I use premium paper matte; but it all depends on what paper you buy and their instructions.
Hi! A bit confused. Are the pre filled cartridges regular ink or sublimation ink! Also where did you get the chips from? I spoke with the person via etsy and he directed me to an entire kit. Ty!!! :)
Pre-filled is sublimation ink. I got the chips from the same seller. The entire kits sound good, makes it easier when it's time to purchase!
When you converted the printer did you have to empty out the regular ink that was in it before installing the sublimation ink or did you just insert the sublimation ink and start printing??
I didn’t use the ink that was there before because that was regular ink not sublimation ink.
You are a life-saver!!!! Thank you so much!!!
Yayyy so glad it helped!
thank you. But I have a question. How can I print in black only when the color cartridges are empty?
That I’m not 100% sure, but maybe print in black in white only (settings before you click print on your computer)
Hi, I’m trying to get a sublimation printer soon but doing my research first. Your conversion looks the most affordable and easy to follow to me. I went to the Etsy store but I have a question with the chip If you don't mind answering. I know you said its a one time chip. Is it everytime I get a new cartridge I need to buy new chips? Or I can reuse that cartridge with that chip and refill it. Thank you for your time
Hi! Every time you get a new cartridge you will need to get a new chip. Keep in mind that sometimes the printer will tell you it’s out of ink (even though there’s ink left) if this happens, you will just need to replace the chip. Hope that helps!
@@SteffanyCrafts thank you for the info
Oooooo so prettty, make sure you also tape it down to avoid ghosting! Sublimation is soo cool.
Oh ‘em gee. Thats exactly what I should have done! Thanks for the tip
@@SteffanyCrafts 😂😂😂 you’re welcome girl
Oh do you have any Teflon sheets? You can use them instead of butcher paper
Sublimation is so much fun, you need to try it with tumblers
Hi i have a Epson Expression XP-4105 wireless all-in-one color inkjet printer will subliminal ink work for it i had it since 2022 and im just afraid that i can't use it
Where you find the sublimation ink cartridges and the chips? Great video thank you
Thanks! The Etsy shop is linked in the description of the video.
I ordered the exact sublimation ink for the same printer, what are those instructions step that came with the ink cartridges, mine didn't come with any.
It came with my order. You should reach out to the seller if you didn’t get any instructions, they should be able to email them to you
Hello!
Please tell me how this printer prints photos? When printing a photo, is the black cartridge involved in printing? When printing a photo, does black create color cartridges by mixing, and black is used only for printing black text? Do all four cartridges still work when printing photos?
That is definitely not my area of expertise, sorry! I know if you google the question, you might be able to find some answers. Good luck!
@@SteffanyCrafts Thank you, cood luck!
Thank you for sharing this video, was so helpfull
Glad it was helpful!
Hey do I need the wide format or standard kit for this printer? Thanks
I used the standard.
What software were you using when you printed the design? new to sublimation
In the video, Silhouette Studio Basic Edition which is the free version.
I just bought a new XP4100 because it will work with LINUX easily--- so- I'll download and keep this video--- because when it eventually gets not so good at printing- I'll convert it to sublimation!!! THANKS..
Here's my question, are the chips there to read ink levels because the only empty cartridges I've found are chipless. I tried converting an epson wf 2860 and couldn't get it to print correctly and I also have an Epsom xp-4100 which hadn't been used but that's my last try. I have ink refills that I bought for the other Epson but I want to buy empty cartridges and use that sublimation ink in those. I'm truly ready to throw up my hands. Thank you for any help you can give me.
Nooo don’t give up yet! The chips are to read levels which is why you have to replace them each time the ink runs out. The seller I listed in my bio has everything you need for the 4100. They don’t list the names so just double check the listings and ask the seller any questions, they’re great with getting back asap. Hope that helps and let me know how it goes!
Hi there. does anybody know where to find the replaceable chips any other place than paperbryan? I have the exact same kind of printer (EPSON XP 4100) and my wife is into sublimation now and I ordered the empty cartridges and the ink but I can't find the chips, any suggestions? Thanks
Hey will I be able to convert my Epson expression home XP 420 to a sublimation printer following these instructions as well?
Hey! Since mine is a 4100 I only know that model will work, not sure about the others, sorry.
Where can we get the chips and the pre-filled cartridges for sublimation please
I got them from the Etsy seller I linked
are the chips you got for your epson 4100 auto reset or one use only, i looked on Etsy but didnt find for xp4100
They are one time use only
The seller I purchased them from doesn’t have the model numbers listed - here is the link: www.etsy.com/listing/1201623608/ink-chips-for-standard-format-printers?ref=yr_purchases
Maybe I missed it but where did you buy the ink cartridges and chips?
Etsy
attempted to use sublimation ink however caye color stopped working. If I purchase your cartridges will that fix the issue. tfs
Not sure what the issue is, sorry.
You can refill those ink cartridges yourself.. they are the same ones I bought empty. The chip probably doesn’t need to ever be replaced either, it’s a permanent auto reset chip. Refilling those with sublimation ink is the easiest thing ever.
Yep you definitely can but I feel like I would somehow mess it up.
Can you give the link to the empty ones
In the description
Do the ink come with the chips? If not… what is the name of the chip I should purchase? ❤
@@SteffanyCraftswhere can I get empty cartridges for my 4200
where do you buy this ink and whats the name. is this a regular refilled ink
Etsy and no, it’s sublimation ink
Hi girl, thankyou for this video!! What if the # of ink cartridges did you use pls lmk TIA 💕
Hey! I don’t have the number but if you message the seller with your model number and they’ll tell you exactly which one to buy
Where did you get the cartridges for the sublimation ink from
Paperbryan company I’m pretty sure I left it all in the description
What exact chips did you get because I bought the ink and the ink empty cartridges but they didn’t come with a chip. Please help me with this
I got it from a company called Paper Bryan. But you need to reach out to the company where you purchased the ink from to help you with whatever else you need for it to work.
Where did you buy the cartridge? Which company?
All info can be found in the description box.
can you please help me , how many print heading cleaning do I have to do
It all depends on your printer, I did quite a few til it looked about right
where did you get the chips? i cant find the right ones on etsy. could you send a link?
Shop is linked
You are an ANGEL....I have had a Epson 4100 for almost a year for sublimation and was told it wouldnt work. So its still in the box.. my question is should i load the printer before or after I reset the ink .
YAY! I'm glad I can help. I'm not sure what you mean by "load the printer" though
do I load the original software tiwh the printer. Its new in the box. sorry so late.
@@SteffanyCrafts
how many pages can I print with each cartridge? do I have to buy chips for each fill up?
thanks
I think the pages depend on the design you are printing and how big they are. So far I’ve printed about 14 8.5x11 designs and I don’t think I need to refill soon. Chips are needed for each cartridge replacement unless you do the software program for the chip less option.
@@SteffanyCrafts thanks for getting back to me.you are saying that I will need a new chip when I change the cartridge.how about I refill the cartridges as I use them before they get empty.
Thanks
Can you tell me which kit you purchased… I went to the site and was not sure… I have the exact printer you have
Prefilled ink cartridges and the chips separately.
did you have to clean the old ink out of the printer
No, not in my case.
Can I do the same with the epson expression home XP 4105
You would have to look for the same conversion kits I bought but for your model.
Where did you get the refills cartridge?
Linked
This is the printer I have and I’m wanting to convert it. What is the brand of the prefilled ink cartridges and do you buy the chips separate? Thanks so much and nice job.
Hi! All of that info is linked in the description of this video.
What designing apps do you use?
silhouette studio
I can’t seem to find the link for the ink chips. I have the XP 4105 and I’m afraid I will buy the wrong ones. Please can you help me figure this out.
I have the same printer! Did you try it? Did it work?
Message the Etsy seller I linked, they’re super helpful and fast at getting back to questions!
thank you I have the xp 5100
WHAT PHOTOSHOP DO YOU USE, HAVING PROBLEMS FINDING ONE 🙏🙏😪
I don’t use photoshop
Where do i get the 410 x and 410 ink cartridge
linked
I have a question, is there a certain type of printer to do this type of work? I have an epson xp-6100 inkjet printer, could I use this as a DTF Sublimination?
I only have experience with the 4100 / 4105 models. I did a quick TH-cam search and nothing comes up for your printer as far as converting. Just google your printer model and if it can be converted to sublimation. And remember, DTF and sublimation are two different things.
Thank you for responding back. I will do that. Thxs
@@SteffanyCrafts I googled the printer and yes I can. Thank you very much
Will it also work on the 4105?
I need to know too
You would have to search for a conversion kit like the one I bought but for your model.
I tried to order the bag of chips on Etsy but could not find them. Do you have a name or item number for the product. TIA
www.etsy.com/listing/1201623608/ink-chips-for-standard-format-printers?ref=yr_purchases
The colors are more vibrant after their pressed to the shirt
Yep!
where do i get the sublimation chips?
Seller linked in the description! Feel free to message them with any questions, they get back ASAP.
I used the 232 XL it printed and the next day it said it was empty. I've tried 3 different methods on u tube but so far no response.
Oh no! Sorry you're having trouble. I don't have that model but when my printer was saying "empty" (even though more than half ink was left) I just replaced the chips. Hope that helps and good luck.
Know of any other sites that sells the prefilled ones? I don't think this site does anymore all i seen where empty and you have to fill them yourself ..It looks messy and Id rather don't do it myself cause I know me if it can be broken I'lll be the one to break it.
Just checked the shop, they still sell pre-filled sublimation cartridges. Message the seller if you have any questions about which to buy for your printer.
Can I upload my own designs to silhouette studio and then print?
Yes!
Hey so you didn’t have to do the childless firmware at all?
Nope
How did you mirror image
In silhouette studio
Could this be done with the Epson XP-5100 printer?
If they have chips and ink for that model I don’t see why not! Message the seller I purchased from, their Etsy link is in the description.
@@SteffanyCrafts Okay, My printer is pretty much like yours but my paper is fed from the bottom of the printer instead of the top
Why did you change the chips on the empty ink cartridges if they already had chips? Or were they chipless cartridges
I didn’t change them, I added them.
Why did you add them? Do you need them for the cartridges
Yes or you can use them without but you have to download a software program. I mentioned all this in the video, I’m surprised you missed it.
I rewatched this video and I don’t know how I missed what I was asking… Lol 😂
Lol it’s cool. I’m not too knowledgeable on the program aspect of it but I hope I was able to help.
I just bought a brand new epson xp-4100. I haven't used it yet, but planning on only using it for sublimation. Which sublimation ink package do you buy and the cartridges? Thanks 😊
I purchase the prefilled ones because it was more convenient
Will this work for my Epson xp-4105
Not sure, sorry!
Can an epson xp2150 be converted into a sublimation printer?
Sorry not sure about that!
So is a Expression Home XP-4205 a similation printer
Not sure!
lots of info in a single video! can i not use black cartridges, are they not meant to be for sublimation purposes?
Thanks
Hey! Yes you can use black cartridges as long as they are sublimation ink.
Have the same printer and realized I ordered the wide format instead of standard and it was way to big , new to all of this lol 😅
I was unsure of that too so I asked the seller and thankfully they told me standard size! We all learn somehow 😁
@@SteffanyCrafts let me ask did you get the exact ink for your 4100 ? I went to the site and it’s has ink for 4200 etc can I use that?
@@earthqueen4739 I got the ink needed for my 4100
Is there a specific type of chip I have to purchase? I see the prefilled ink cartridges on Etsy but I am not certain about the chips
Chips that go with the model of your printer. The seller I used sells everything and they're really great with letting you know what items you need to buy for your specific printer. Just make sure to have the model # when you message them :)
I have the same exact printer you have and thank you
I am sorry for bothering you once again but I am still confused about the ink cartridges so do I
1.)buy the prefilled ink cartridges with chips
2.)then purchase another set of chips that are compatible with my epson 4100 printer
3.) then switch the chips out?
@@SteffanyCrafts I bought the replacement carthages and the ink but I did not get any chips. Is there anyway you can give me a specific name of a seller or either the specific chip you have
@@patienzphillips184 www.paperbryan.com they should be able to help you with the chips!
Wait you have to remove the little plugs?
Yep!
@@SteffanyCrafts I’m such an idiot! My black isn’t reading I have a show I’m just 😱
What's about xp 4205 it can convert
idk
Can you please put the link to the replacement chip. I can’t find it anywhere. Thank you!
I purchased it from the same Etsy shop. Maybe they don’t have any more? You can message them - they were quick to respond to my questions.
Why do some refill cartridges have chips and no chips? So confused
@@SS-nm9tx there’s a program you can download that won’t require you to use chips.
@@SteffanyCrafts what’s the name of the chips and cartridges?
@@jennywalker9470 it used to be whatever your printer model number is but they changed it. Now you have to message the seller to see if it’s compatible with your printer. They have impeccable customer service.
I prefer the chipless method.
I’m going to be trying chipless soon
Yours' is the "FIRST" video to show the need for this little chip at 2:27. My printer is close to the one you have here (xp-4105 expression home) and after dozens and dozens of videos, none of them ever mentioned this little chip, always "chipless" I ruined a brand new printer due to this lack of knowledge. Good thing it was a cheaper printer. I really hate finding the right video (like this one) AFTER THE FACT.
Sorry you found it too late. I try to provide as much info as I can. I usually watch tons of videos and read tons of things online before I try something new so I try to fit everything in my own tutorials.
@@SteffanyCrafts which is what i did. but I will just eventually get a sublimation printer. Thank you for not only the very informative video but for also responding.
There are some printers that don’t have that there’s also eco tank printers where the chips aren’t required
Your friend is amazing
She really is!
What is the cost for this printee?😮
Not sure
mine only accepts Epson ink 😞
Oh no!
BUY IT NEW(PRINTER)I HAD HEADACHES TRYING TO CONVERT A USED ONE ,NEW ONE LOAD SUB INK OR FIRST TIME.
I had NO issues, as you saw in the video so it CAN be done with a used printer.
Glad it worked out for you in the end 👍🏼
Was that a used printer ?
Yes
