is there a way to know if the Touch ID Button has been replaced ? i got a used iphone6 i know the display has been replaced and i don't have Touch ID (same as in 0"42 & 0:49) how do i can find out if the Button has been replaced or if it's just the flex ? Thank you !
I realize that the touch ID chip is right under the button covered with black poxy, but was wondering what does the larger chip do which is soldered into the flex cable closer to the connector? Is there any way to move the ID chip rather than re-soldering the fragile flex cable? By the way beautiful soldering job in this video. I don't think most people realize how small these parts/pins are. ;)
Could be caused by a couple of things... #1. You've damaged the home button flex cable #2. You've damaged the earpiece/camera flex cable #3. You've used a cheap/low quality replacement screen with a bad home button flex extension cable inside. #4. Unlikely, but could be caused by a bad main board. #5. Very unlikely, but could be caused by corrupted firmware. By the way what most people don't realize is that both the home button flex cable and earpiece/cam flex have to be attached in working, otherwise it won't even boot up properly. Trust me it's caused by one of these, I do this for a living every day. ;)
That's why you leave certain tasks up to professionals... like dentistry, brain surgery etc. Sure you can do them yourself, but probably not worth it. I'm cracking up already at the thought of all TH-cam mechanics saying.. "Pfff this is easy I'm gonna do it in 10 minutes!".... an hour later "F*ck this, calling REWA Tech!" lol

For iPhone 5s and later versions, touch ID is paired with CPU, and the user who has replaced his home button will then lose its touch ID sensor function.

I just love these REWA videos, as they've got all the kit to do these jobs properly, but they are not really practical for the average guy on the street., Did you notice that there was a hair stuck to the tweezers at 10:54 ? Luckily it didn't get lost inside the home button once he put the back back on.
Hi. Really informative. Once I got iPhone 7. Change of screen. Afterwards I found the touch ID problem. I changed the buttons but it not go through. Its home button was working perfectly but touch ID scan not. I am not sure why.
Would touch ID still function if you cut and replaced the actual button at 5:17 - 5:21. In my situation touch ID still works but it seems as if the button died from overuse.
Hello, Can you please provide a list of all of the tools you have in your repair lab? Your repair station looks very clean and organized, would like to really follow your lead with that. If you could also provide links to where I could purchase all of the tools I would appreciate it. Great video, you defintely have a lot of skill. Regards, a fellow repair technician in the USA :-)
Yup. I have done this method with a 5S a year ago, and it works perfectly. The same procedure. The only difference is i did not buy a new home button. i just used the same old flex. Cut directly to the bent section of the cable. Then removed those coating on the cable. Same procedure in this video. But of course you need a microscope to this. So difficult if you don't have. This method is pretty much legit. Good job REWA Technology for this awesome video. Thumbs up for this!

Better make damn sure you have the alignment perfect and the amount of tin on each flex just right. I can see a bunch of touch ID failed repairs after this video from people attempting this with little experience or no microscope.
Its a no risk repair at this point if it works alls well if not you lose all home button functionality however seing as touch id has failed in the first place you got nothing to lose at worst you wont have a home button that works at all then in that case you would need to buy a replacement home button just no touch id or best case this will fix the touch id as ive done 35 of these fixes and have not failed as of yet

In Aust...I’ve found that a non working Touch ID devalues the phone from $50-$100 on the final sale price of most second hand iphones. So maybe that’s a good indicator of a cost to charge. Personally if I could do it (not saying I can) and it took 30 mins or less id probably just charge $50.

Satp Icloud nope. Not yet
Do you do that kind of repair? I'm looking for someone to do it for me
Do you have a video like this for ipad?
The tutorial was pretty knowledgeable, but why to cut a new sensor for making old sensor work?
that old sensor is paired only to that iPhone so using a new one would not work look up (enclave)
only the old one will allow finger print to work
Ok Thank you for your answer. I don't know that much about iPhone parts so!
Can't you just do a full iPhone restore to get the new sensor to work with the iPhone?

Is there anyway that I can send you my iPhone and you can repair it
How much do you think should I charge if someone asked me to do this (excluding the replacement parts)?
In Aust...I’ve found that a non working Touch ID devalues the phone from $50-$100 on the final sale price of most second hand iphones. So maybe that’s a good indicator of a cost to charge. Personally if I could do it (not saying I can) and it took 30 mins or less id probably just charge $50.
Difficulty 11/10😂😂better buy a new iPhone!
Moldovan Radu Stefan or not buy an iphone at all
