  • It is well known that Touch ID chip is exclusively matched with the motherboard. If change a new home button only, the Touch ID function disappears as the unique chip is also changed. So if the home button is unfortunately broken, how can we repair it without losing Touch ID? Here is the solution for iPhone 7 home button replacement/repair.

      If your button is damaged by water or liquid, just use a blow dryer (hair dryer) and gently blow some heat where the charger goes. Do this for 5 minutes, let it cool off then repeat the process. Eventually it will going to work. If it’s other issue this fix won’t help you but it’s worth a try.

    What kind of double sided tape do you use? I know its from 3M, but there's a lot of them out there. Or which one do you recommend for repairing?

    • @JoseLuis-iu9bn
      @JoseLuis-iu9bn 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      R A Use the one that has red plastic labeled covered adhesive. That's the one I use. Very strong. Doesn't need to be 3M, but the stickiest one is the one that has yellow plastic cover label. Don't recommend that one unless you really want to stick something very well that you know it would be easy to come apart.

      Hi Farzand Amanat Bhatti. Thanks for your comments. The Touch ID function of the iPhone 7 home button is bonded with the motherboard. Even the button is original, you can't restore its touch ID function if it is not the one it out of the factory with.

    Does this work with the 6s as well? I don’t think I have torn my ribbon cable while replacing my lcd once, but Touch ID is just not working anymore, the physical button however still is. Is it perhaps because I unplugged the ribbon cable once while the phone still wasn’t completely turned off?

      1. Did you apply a new home button or the original one? Please use the original home button if you want to keep the touch ID function.
      2. Disconnect the battery and then re-connect it.
      3. For 6s, the home button repair process is a little different with iPhone 7, because they come with different flex cable structure.

      I have always kept my original home button on my device, touch id just suddenly stopped working after opening up the device a while back. The flex cable does not have any tears in it though. Could a broken Touch ID IC on the mainboard be the issue?
      Thanks

    What if the touch id does not work while the home button is still working properly?
    Where is the problem? @rewatechnology
    NB : The keypad is still an original device and has never been replaced before

    Hi, for iphone 6s, i checked the home button and there isnt any damage. Is there possibility that the damage is at the display assembly cable? One of the 3 cables from the display is responsible for the sensor right?

    • @rewatechnology2008
      @rewatechnology2008  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It might be caused by the damage of home button flex cable or home button extension flex cable.

    hi i have a question before i make the purchase. the home button and the vibration of my iphone 7 plus is not working. i changed the home button but its still not working. now i am thinking that it could be related to taptic engine because it is not vibrating. do you think fixing the taptic engine will resolve the issue???

      REWA Technology Thanks. So I have a problem with my iPhone 7. The fingerprint is working, but the homebutton is not. Are you able to fix that, so that both the homebutton and fingerprint scanner are working again?
