Absolutely. I can relate to the dedication of this guy to get a vintage computer keyboard restored to its former glory because I work in my hospital's dietary department as a dishwasher and I am always miffed at the sight of seeing the dish racks stacked all crooked first thing in the morning. I am also peeved when I come into work on a Monday morning and see that the garbage was not taken out by the weekend dishwashers. Though I am rightly pissed off when I see that the weekend dishwashers failed to fill out the temperature log. I take pride in having an extremely clean and meticulously organized work station as productivity does not flourish in a cluttered and disorganized work station.

I'm new to this channel but although that was a very touching scene, it was also a bit revolting as he reused the dirty toothbrush on the Ducktor's teeth/beak. It'd be comparable to scrubbing your bathroom walls with a toothbrush and then brushing your teeth with it.
When reinstalling the spring bars on the larger keys, you should always apply some grease to reduce friction and extend the life of the keyboard. If you pay close attention, the factory applied grease was still in place when the keyboard was disassembled.

Great Job! I used to love the extra clicky keyboards from when I was a kid, 80's-90's!
who asked
They’ve got better models today, and I really want one of those.
@@sjdfajjfdjsf5868 yo mama
This is not a clicky keyboard- it has a rubber membrane, similar to cheap laptop keyboards today.
@@jakethewoz I didn't know there was something extra underneath the keys that make them like that.
I have zero clue about any electrical stuff, but him talking about it makes me feel smarter. Thank you
I loved the satisfying clicks of the keys when you popped them out
10/10
That one button getting stuck is a bit too relatable.. *smiles in nostalgia*
This is dedication: my dude washed every single key on that keyboard
Does anyone want to tell him about ultrasonic cleaners, or should we just let him keep going?
@@talyrath Nah, let's keep this Information a secret. Don't risk losing another video
I just love the clicks of this keyboard
Me: Debating whether or not I should stay up.
TH-cam Algorithm: Want to see some dude clean his keyboard?
My inner Mr. Incredible: "Yeah, I've got time."
same here xD
Me right now lmaoooo
This guy: gets infected with covid
Also him: *seems like they havent made a cure yet so I will make my own*

Mom: what are you watching?
Me: some guy brushing a keyboards teeth in a sink with a rubber ducky dressed as a doctor
🤣🤣
😂🤣😂🤣
“Who’s dressed as a doctor?! The guy or the duck????!”
@@medinacsam the duck.
It’s nice not a sink bruh was it’s a plastic container filled with water 💦
Considering I've been thinking of opening my own shop for stuff like this, I need this channel more than I thought,
“Oh, I remember those.”
..... my age is showing.
I have one, the m and n keys don't have the letters on them any more
We used to have this one when I was a kid, it was in the 00’s, not too long ago :)
Quickly! Hide!
my "my family is broke" is showing
I miss typing on that keyboard and the sound of it. Now you barely have to touch the key.
I wish i had his patience. A few mins in I’d be like screw this I’m taking a nap.
Ok
and buy a new one when you wake up?
trust me, this stuff is relaxing
Yea come lets nap.
haha agreed 😂
The worst part is: once you've started to detach those buttons, there's no way back!
Odd Tinkering: when is the last time you cleaned your keyboard
Me: *Sweating intensifies*
“Y. . .you have to clean them?” Also I just now realized while typing this I’ve been away from my PC for 2+ months and there’s going to be so much dust. . . I am upset now
@@GuardianPsycho lol same
if u use a mac, it has metal things inbetween the keys that turn brown over time because of finger sweat
With modern keyboards, just pop em to the dishwasher then leave em a day out in the sun to dry properly. Tgey come out looking brand new
@@lloydtucker that would just break the keyboard;-;
I make my own tool: scratches every key with it
If there's ever a video where he doesn't brush the Ducktor's teeth when he's finished washing something, I'll rebel
I'm new to this channel but although that was a very touching scene, it was also a bit revolting as he reused the dirty toothbrush on the Ducktor's teeth/beak. It'd be comparable to scrubbing your bathroom walls with a toothbrush and then brushing your teeth with it.
@@FinbyOasta ikr! That’s what I thought lol
@@FinbyOasta Glad I’m not the only one who feels the Ducktor is being violated every time

I love those old keyboard with that big ENTER cap❤

His teeth? Like, his beak you mean?
fresagrus tomato tomato ducks and geese have tiny teeth lining their beaks anyway so basically the same thing lol
The noise that it makes when he removes one of the keys is satisfying
That is amazing quality, all these years and even the cable shows no wear.
Key Tronic made the best rubber dome keyboards ever. Even after so many years, the key feel and sound are great, and it has a beautiful design.
When reinstalling the spring bars on the larger keys, you should always apply some grease to reduce friction and extend the life of the keyboard. If you pay close attention, the factory applied grease was still in place when the keyboard was disassembled.
Stabilizers.. The lube is there to make the keys smoother and rattle less
I usually use petroleum jelly. Cleaner and cheaper to get.
It's good to replace the grease once in a while too, keeps the sticking to a minimum
The fact that you're washing your duck after him swimming in dirty water, makes me really happy
I really appreciate this guy’s intelligence and care. This morning is quite cold and because I work outside, it’s hard for me to get going - but after watching this with a bit of coffee, I feel much better.
That made me so happy.
I wrote so happily using a keyboard like that with an IBM compatible and a green CRT monitor!
