  • I've always wanted to learn how to muscle up. Well, lockdown provided the perfect opportunity to finally put the work in and learn how!
    I went from being able to do 0 to 5 muscle ups in 53 days

      Hi Swithers - I wonder if I can ask for some advice? I have set myself the target of one muscle up. Im 83kg and ran half marathons before, so was staring from a LONG way off (I couldn't do a single pull up to start). From January, I have worked hard and can now do 10 strict form pull ups and I have similar progression in dips/push ups. I'm struggling with the transition part of the muscle up - how can I get past that? Cheers 🙂

    • @Swithers
      @Swithers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MyMyMyAccount The transition is by far the hardest part to get down, you can see in that video that I'm not really doing it properly.
      The thing that helped me the most though was doing the muscle ups with the bands. Not having to focus so much on the strength on those reps really helped me focus on the technique. Then just try and replicate that feeling without the bands. Hope this helps!

      @MyMyMyAccount 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Swithers I'll be sure to buy myself some bands. Thanks for the advice 🙂 where did you find the outdoor pull up bar by the way?

    • @Swithers
      @Swithers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MyMyMyAccount No worries :) The pull-up bar is from a company called Gravity Fitness, there's loads of its type though, just happened to be the one I chose. Pretty sure I googled 'outdoor pull up bar' or something like that to find it

    Congratulations, it’s not easy even with the kipping. And one thing I agree with you is some days it’s hard to do one even up to this date I did many. One question: When you said 2 days rest, you meant you did nothing or you did some other exercise other than pulling? Thanks

    • @Swithers
      @Swithers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In that particular case it was two days of doing nothing
