I believe no Mario & Luigi game is outright bad. I agree on good outweighting bad, but rather in an "each game individually has highs and lows" with every game overall being fine at worst. You are free to disagree though. Even Paper Jam (my least favourite M&L) has what's probably the best battle gameplay, and by Mario standards, it's a good game. It's just lackluster in story compared to other M&L games, but I'd still say it's "fine", it's still more creative in gameplay (and debatably story when compared with the New series) than your average Mario game.
@@GabrylMD I agree. BIS is kinda overrated, the bosses felt too light hearted and didnt feel intense at all. The story is just another, ‘villain needs some magic superstar to conquer the world’, and although the final battle music was epic, the final boss felt too easy to the point where the ending of the battle felt anticlimactic.. partners in time actually had a unique story and a more accurate tone towards what theme they were aiming for such as genocide, invasion and loss of hope (reminds of the chimera ant arc from hunter hunter). Superstar saga did better than what BIS did, there’s dramatic turn of events and life threatening situations (and dont even count the, bowser gets squashed, part since he had the mario bros to help him). Overall, i liked SS and PIT more than BIS.
I know I am to this day led by nostalgia bias, BUT Partner in Time will forever be my favorite entry within this series. I remember playing it all the way back when I was like 5-6 and even tho I could barely read at the time, the Shroob invasion just intrigues me so much to this day... such a wild & dystopian plot idea for a children's game. But I loved it so much! Even tho I know of the not so great aspects abt this game which mainly include the low replayability value + the balance flaws, I will forever love it with all of my heart. I am 21 now and I probably replayed it 5 times by now.
Partner in Time is the greatest game I’ve ever played on my ds. Played it as a kid, pretty sure I beat it but couldn’t remember for sure. Emulators became popular this summer, so first thing I did was download PiT and beat it within a few days. Brought back so much nostalgia, and I enjoyed every single part of it
Partners In Time scared me as a kid, was always a big fan of space and what lies there. Seeing aliens beat mario and luigi was death for me as a child.
The Mario&Luigi games have had a great influence on all the RPGs that Nintendo has released after them, sure, but not just that: they had an impact on the RPG genre as a WHOLE, and well outside of it. And the reason i say this is very simple: their interactive combat sistem was straight up the inspiration for the dodging mechanics in Undertale, which is easily one of the most influential games of all time.
It’s so awesome that people loved Fawful so much that they brought him back IMMEDIATELY in Partners in Time then made him the main villain in Bowser’s Inside Story, Fawful was so amazing that even in a pre-mainstream internet era he had a big impact
PIT would have been the best game to remake on the Switch. It barely used any DS capabilities other than 2 screens (1 was a map, that they can repurpose in the Switch version)
I actually thought that a lot, but I guess it makes the battles a bit too long? I suppose a 50% dodge with 30% wrong time of dodge (beneficial for player) couldn't hurt.
I do agree in a way but enemies always usually hit decently hard in the late game and did have some tricky attacks or they got to attack multiple times so it really evens out.
6:38 Back to the present after that fight, that wasn't the case, they were fighting Bowser who was possessed after eating the Elder Princess Shroob's Shroom, Peach had no issue on it (perhaps you were mixing it with TTYD)
I grew up with Partners in Time. It's design lead me to SS which made me love the genre and BIS made it's way to surprise us with playing as Bowser. It was a great time for me as a whole game experience, I even remember bits related to my vacation as small me, and also was really surprised to see BIS. All the other M&L games except Paper Jam had lead me to expect the unexpected. Even though people like new things and BIS being the big surprise of actually playing Bowser and the game itself living up to the hype lead it mostly to succes. As the PiT story still has some plot-twists, especially the ending (could still have goosebumps about it), it always have liked how M&L games could surprise me. It really has set on kind of how true adventures could look like. And ofc we grow up and like to truly rate our past M&L games on technical standpoints, but it's also about (marketing and) experience. M&L games have always been invested in rich stories. But compared to other products, I did love the brutality and world-dying part in Partners in Time. It's almost existential in a time where everything matters, it's a story that's actually quite immersive. It did kind of hurt that not everyone was on board about I thought and loved that game, but over time my belief has changed from + / - / + to ++ / + / ++ PiT holds dear to my heart, but I do reckon to be truthful and honest when rating and comparing. Yes, maybe the level/world design from PiT is linear, but as a story it has a dynamic plot and it holds a massive plot-twist towards the end that could kind of guilt trip you. Partners in time touched me the most, it had me probably the most invested, because of its dark story it felt the most mature, and sometimes feeling mature all what a child wants. Partners in Time catched me and the whole franchise with it, I'm glad and sad I've experienced them :')
I feel like no one talks about how much Paper Jam, Bowser’s Minions, and Bowser Jr’s Journey did for the Koopalings as characters. These might just be their best incarnations as characters. We get to see them as a group, their personalities show with each other and Bowser Jr. we NEVER get that anywhere else
Mario & Luigi Dream Team was my favorite game from the franchise. However, Im still not a fan of Starlow being incredibly rude to Luigi. Hold on- wasn't there like an hint she was a Thusundre or something for Luigi? 💀
Dream Team is my personal favourite. I played partners in time and inside story, but i just adored dream team. I know people hated it for the tutorials, but i honestly didn't mind them at all. The luiginary battles and the giant battles were some of my favourite fights in the entire Mario and luigi franchise
My personal favorite is dream team, but thats probably because its the one I started with for the series. Superstar saga is also one of my favorites to play as well
Something cool to note about BiS, in the dark bowser fight, Bowser tries to show off and puts his full effort into it while dark bowser just tries to look menacing
bowser's inside story was a blast, mainly because you could control as bowser. controlling a villain stopping another villain. and bowser is also my favorite fictional character, and so strong and big he could become!
Hot take: I preferred Mario & Luigi over Paper Mario because it was about Mario and Luigi going on adventures together instead of saddling Mario with OCs.
The first one I played as a kid was bowsers inside story. It was so good. It was also cool seeing the hundreds of flipnotes that incorporated the dark star into combat or otherwise story scenarios. The game definetely left an impact seeing so many people make animations and art based off of the dark star corrupting people.
I was a kid and I watched my mom play these. She actually beat super star saga and partners in time. I never seen her play any other games after that. One of my treasured memories with her.
This is a game series where I can see why any of the titles are someone's favorite. Alphadream has done god tier work to make this franchise as consistently GOOD, GREAT and EXCELLENT as possible.
Dream Team will always be a nostalgic game for me since it was my first ever game to actually buy from saving money during a summer job i had and play on my 3DS during family trips which were quite often back in the day for me.
Mario & Luigi games being able to play with both characters like that is such a brilliant concept that made gaming so much more fun! I always thought it seemed unfair on Luigi that Mario got all the accolades & the girl. 😂 Love how Luigi got his own fan club & all after all the years it was Mario in the spot light! 😂 These games are so much fun & the comedy & storys always made it so much more fun. Can't wait to get this later version coming out soon!
The amount of times my brother and I have played Bowser’s Inside Story is ridiculous. Once we thought we lost the copy and panicked and pooled our money to buy a new copy. Found the first one a few months later and we were still stoked because now we both have copies. I’m making my fiancé play it for the first time soon since he was a Sonic kid and hasn’t played much Mario at all-very excited
Dream team is honestly (what I think is) the best M&L game. Although it has it's flaws (the damn tutorials every like 30 minutes) it actually inspired me to mod my 3ds to try the other M&L games. I did like them (outside of paper jam because it kinda fell flat for me although the bros attacks were awesome) but dream team will still be my personal favorite
Yeah the tutorials were a lot. Paper Jam was an acquired taste for me, over time i have grown to like it more and more. The others are all great too! :D
Awesome video! So far Mario and Luigi Dream team + Mario and Luigi paper jam are the only ones I’ve played but the others seem really interesting. Cant wait for the next video :)
It can’t be nostalgia as I never got the opportunity to play a Mario and Luigi game due to having a switch, yet I still thought they were legendary. I thought all hope was lost for being able to play this game, but brothership will finally give me the opportunity I wanted since 2017. Hope it lives up to the expectations set by the previous games.
True I don't understand the hate other than the story, the only mario & luigi i kinda dislike is partner in times because of the new baby mechanic. But it's still good like all of the game.
@Cosmicy_Magey Everyone says the same thing about it too, lack of story, unique characters, and interesting locations, which is understandable, but most forget about the positive changes it brought to the table or most people don't give it a fair chance at all and also never played it.
4:46 you say that with vitriol but I’m gonna be real, this series used the Koopalings in by far the best way in the franchise. I actually enjoyed seeing them because they actually felt like whole characters with internal dynamics
I recently played Mario and Luigi superstar saga and it was so good. It was the remake but still very good and I am trying to play all of them before brothership
Partners in time is probably my favorite of all time I’ve put so many hours in that game. Played it again after several years away and I still love the story and boss battles
Dream team and partners in time are some of my absolute favorite games of all time. If i ever get my hands on those cartridges again, I'm definitely playing them.
Hey, excellent vid, demonstrating the concept of each game in the Mario and Luigi series, personally I think bower’s inside did it the best due to the theme song of dark bowser considering being the final boss. Also really excited for “brothership”, definitely buying day 1!
I love all the games but I have to say partners in time is my favorite by a little bit and it’s the darkest Mario game and they aren’t even subtle about it, it’s flat out in our faces throughout the story.
The one thing that I find surprising is that all the bros attacks now are item related only, I would have loved if the attacks that the bros did with one another stuck around and have the item attacks be something else, I hate when games completely leave out things (even tho the items stuck around as the main bros attack)
Bowser _did_ find out, by the way. He gets furious, and the credits have them fighting. Post-credits, Bowser's bedridden with post-stomp exhaustion, and Bowser receives a package with a cake from Peach as thanks for saving the kingdom.
As someone who started with Bowser's inside story and then went backwards, yes, the games were just that good in my opinion. The gameplay always felt fun and fresh to me. It was my intro to RPGs, and it manages to make it simple enough to understand, but with enough depth. Making almost every battle command a quick time event kept battles engaging for my little brain, so even if i needed to fo a bit of grinding if im underleveled, i was having fun. That plus stories that were fun to watch unfold and the silly characters we get to meet in between, and the music makes these games REALLY really good, and i hold them dearly in my heart. The only game i consider to be less on part is Paper Jam, for obvious reasons, though the battles were still very fun to play, and alphadream never missed with those, everything else felt like a missed opportunity, and the game was more or less unmemorable to me.
I love this series so much ! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💚💚💚💚💚💜💜💜🩷🩷💙💙💙 The sprites are gorgeous, the artstyle is so toony, the humour is funny and the world, levels and characters are so wacky and zany🤗🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩🤩💙💙💙💙🩵🩵 My favorites are partners in time, bowsers inside story, dream team and brothership🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗💚💚💚♥️♥️♥️♥️🩵🩵🩵🩵💙💙 But superstar saga, paper jam and the 3ds remakes are very enjoyable too 🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩♥️♥️💙💙💙💙🩵🩵🩵💚💚💚💚🤍🤍🩷🩷💜
I played superstar saga when i was like 5 beating the game despite putting points in random stats that made the game rediculously hard. I love that game I saw brothership was getting released but had no idea there are like 5 other mario and luigi titles best day ever :)
Slight correction to how BIS ends, Fawful blows himself up from within Bowser’s body, and that’s what causes everyone to get out of his body, once everyone is out of Bowser he sees the Bros, realizes they were in his Bod, tries to fight them, and gets absolutely creamed by the Bros as the Credits roll. Afterwards Peach sent a cake to Bowser’s Castle as a means of thanking him for helping them against Fawful’s schemes
partners in time is my favorite. i really like the story of the game and i remember the shroob princess really scared me and was one of the most diffucult boss i fight in videogame in that time. always have a place on my heart
I've only played the first two and loved them both. I plan to marathon the whole series soon though... including the dreaded (and unmentioned) Color Splash
Im one of the few people that think paper jam is a 10/10 game, when i first saw review's of that game i thought it was the worst thing ever made, then i tried it and wow it immediately became my 2nd favorite (1st is Dream team)
Nostalgia trip. My FIRST Mario and Luigi game I ever played was Bowsers inside story for the ds. I remember nights where i was a rebel and played the game inside my closet at night so no one would see the lights from me playing. Managed to catch up buying carts and digital of all the games plotwise EXCEPT FOR partners in time. Had been saddened when the company that was making these games went bankrupt after Paper Jam; so the Fact they are making a comeback with Brothership? ESTATIC!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO COME OUT!
Had always, ALWAYS, loved the giant battles. Something Dream team shared in common. An extremely dangerous situation where, with a little help, has the character go HUGE to match their opponent was a blast. Didn't like the microphone mechanic for the breath attack (something the remake fixed) but everything else about the fights was epic!
I thought this series was done after the devs went bankrupt and I’m so happy to see it come back with Brothership and you better believe I’m gonna get this game at launch
2014 i played all of dream team at the ripe age of 9. Came back and played all of dream team at 19 in 2024 again. It's not nostalgia genuinely had a great time playing the game over again
I have a feeling that the reason Bowser's Inside Story got the remake before Partners In Time was because Alphadream was likely about to go bankrupt and tried to remake the game that would likely sell the best, which was Inside Story.
Fun fact: Bowser's Inside Story on the DS runs at 60 fps, while the remake runs at 30. This could be why the animations look less fluid to you in the remake.
My first ever game was either paper jam or bowser's inside story I can't quite remember but paper jam holds a very special place in my heart I loved that game as a little kid but definitely bowser's inside story was the best I adore that game and honestly every game in the series is good I can lay back and play them and enjoy every single one of them
Bowser's Inside Story is my favorite Mario and Luigi game and one of my favorite game of all time, and I don't even think Starlow is that bad in BIS, she only was rude to Luigi one time in the game, but she still apologized and that was it. Also that scene was also hinting that Baby Luigi in PIT defeated the Shroobs with his tears anyways.
I will say this for the microphone section. The intent behind it was to get you to blow into the microphone, rather than just make noise. If you're talking about the same section I'm thinking about, which is the giant bowser fights. But otherwise, it's a... game on a device with touch screen as an advertised feature. that's like getting upset the wii had moti-wait most of the internet did do that... hmmm.
I think you forgot to mention a big part of Dream team, the boss battles where Luigi would turn really big as well as the enemies. Also you would have to tile your 3ds sideways and use your stylus to fight, bringing a new way of fighting, this and many different things that dream team did that made it my favourite by far.
Superstar Sage: 7/10 Partners In Time: didnt play Bowser's Inside Story: 8,5/10 Dream Team: 9/10 Paper Jam: 7/10 yeah seems like a very strong franchise
Dream Team is my all-time favorite out of the series. Everything about that game is great, I love that game. All the Mario & Luigi games are great. Out of all of them, the most overrated one is Bowser's Inside Story.

Wow Bis has shitty music
7:24 I’m hoping Mario and Luigi’s jump to the switch will allow us to get a brothers in time remake someday
Also Bowsers inside Story has the best Final Boss music out of all the final Boss Music's in the series.
I own all of the games and beat them except for the newest one. Partners in Time was by far my least favorite. I like Paper Jam over PIT.
Yes, next question.
I've always wondered about the quality of Mario and Luigi games and this video cleared things up.
I am glad that it could help :D
It's not fair to the enemies that Mario and Luigi can completely avoid and dodge their attacks, but they can't avoid or dodge their attacks.
The enemies deserve it lol :D
I actually thought that a lot, but I guess it makes the battles a bit too long?
I suppose a 50% dodge with 30% wrong time of dodge (beneficial for player) couldn't hurt.
I mean, to be fair, sometimes the enemies have the numbers on their favor
I do agree in a way but enemies always usually hit decently hard in the late game and did have some tricky attacks or they got to attack multiple times so it really evens out.
Superstar Saga man had so many memories with that one. I’d never thought I’d enjoy a M&L RPG game so much.
6:38 Back to the present after that fight, that wasn't the case, they were fighting Bowser who was possessed after eating the Elder Princess Shroob's Shroom, Peach had no issue on it (perhaps you were mixing it with TTYD)
I must have mixed it up, i recently beat TTYD on switch so it got me lol :D
Superstar Saga, Bowsers Inside-Story, and Partners in Time are some of my favorite RPGS of all time.
Mario & Luigi Dream Team was my favorite game from the franchise.
However, Im still not a fan of Starlow being incredibly rude to Luigi. Hold on- wasn't there like an hint she was a Thusundre or something for Luigi? 💀
Starlow overstayed her welcome from the getgo. Ditching her in Brothership was the best part.
What the heck is a Thusundee?
Dream Team is my personal favourite. I played partners in time and inside story, but i just adored dream team. I know people hated it for the tutorials, but i honestly didn't mind them at all. The luiginary battles and the giant battles were some of my favourite fights in the entire Mario and luigi franchise
Tbh, the paper jam ost was absolute perfect
My personal favorite is dream team, but thats probably because its the one I started with for the series. Superstar saga is also one of my favorites to play as well
All of the games are solid but BIS and DT are my favorites for sure :D
Something cool to note about BiS, in the dark bowser fight, Bowser tries to show off and puts his full effort into it while dark bowser just tries to look menacing
Yeah dark bowser just tries to look menacing and edgy the whole time
bowser's inside story was a blast, mainly because you could control as bowser. controlling a villain stopping another villain. and bowser is also my favorite fictional character, and so strong and big he could become!
1. Dream Team
2. BIS
3. Superstar Saga
4. PIT
5. Paper Jam
Mine is:
5-Paper Jam
4-SuperStar Saga
3-Partners in Time
2-Dream Team
1-Bowser's Inside Story
@@andrewvanover9747 dream team and BIS are very interchangeable ngl i mess w it
I’ve played everything, personally it goes
1.BiS
2.DT
3.SS
4.PiT
5.PJ
Yeah pretty good list
Dream team is peak
My favourite entry is Dream Team and my least favourite entry is Paper Jam. Talk about getting whiplash from one game to the next.
Hot take: I preferred Mario & Luigi over Paper Mario because it was about Mario and Luigi going on adventures together instead of saddling Mario with OCs.
You also beat up oc's and team up with oc's in Mario and Luigi.
They are literally OC's in Mario and Luigi games, what's your point?
Although I think Mario himself was characterized better in M&L, I still much prefer the characters and world of the first two PM games more.

Were they that good? Yes, the answer is yes. The answer will always be yes. You cannot fight this
Yes, even paper jam, great mechanics and gameplay, despite it being bland. My favourite will always be dream team though
2:06 "This is Mario AND Luigi game, so you'll be controlling both brothers at the same time" looks like they forgot this for Brothership.
The first one I played as a kid was bowsers inside story. It was so good. It was also cool seeing the hundreds of flipnotes that incorporated the dark star into combat or otherwise story scenarios. The game definetely left an impact seeing so many people make animations and art based off of the dark star corrupting people.
Dream Team is my absolute favorite! It was so magical
Such a great game overall :D
I was a kid and I watched my mom play these. She actually beat super star saga and partners in time. I never seen her play any other games after that. One of my treasured memories with her.
Oh my, so many more games i gotta get, i cant miss out on my favorite series after only have played 2 of the games...
It is such a great series, there is not a bad title
Same here! Need the Super Star Saga Remake!!!
You did NOT just call her “Cack-LAY-Tuh.”
:O sorry I can barely read lol
My favorite game in the series is paper jam simple and fun and i like the card systems
Dream team is slept on its my favorite game of all time idc what anyone says abt it if dream team got no fans im dead 😭
All of them (besides Paper Jam lmao) are amazing. PiT is not only my favorite game of the series but also in my top 3 Nintendo games of all time.
BIS is my favourite Mario RPG game. There is so much charm, amazing artstyle and amazing music. The final battle was epic
Awesome video! So far Mario and Luigi Dream team + Mario and Luigi paper jam are the only ones I’ve played but the others seem really interesting. Cant wait for the next video :)
I am working on it now :D I appreciate the kind words :)
Regardless of how they stack up now, my nostalgia is 110% tinting my vision, so if I get the chance I want to play all the d2 ones
Paper Jam will always be my favorite of the bunch cause I have the most fun with it out of all of them, despite the general consensus on the game.🙂
There’s also the paper toad missions. Not all of them are bad, but the ones that are are miserable, and they take a long time.
@Cosmicy_Magey Yeah, some of the paper toad overstay their welcome, but they are manageable.
@@eeveemaster5794 they are easy for me for first time play
Dream Team was the best for me, and Superstar Saga had the most nostalgia for me.
Excited to play Brothership!
Partners in time was and still is my favorite I want them to make another where you play as the babies
I never preorder games but brothership was an exception for me! I hope you enjoyed and consider checking out some of my other stuff :D
How are you pumping out so many quality videos so quickly?! I watch every single one. Keep up the great work!
I dont sleep a lot lol :D I just love making them so it does not feel like work to me :D
@@StrawHatMidas I can dig it. Glad I found your channel.
This series is 5 for 5 with their games (not including remakes) for me, now waiting for them to be 6 for 6
They will be 6 for 6 im certain
As someone who started with Bowser's inside story and then went backwards, yes, the games were just that good in my opinion. The gameplay always felt fun and fresh to me. It was my intro to RPGs, and it manages to make it simple enough to understand, but with enough depth. Making almost every battle command a quick time event kept battles engaging for my little brain, so even if i needed to fo a bit of grinding if im underleveled, i was having fun. That plus stories that were fun to watch unfold and the silly characters we get to meet in between, and the music makes these games REALLY really good, and i hold them dearly in my heart. The only game i consider to be less on part is Paper Jam, for obvious reasons, though the battles were still very fun to play, and alphadream never missed with those, everything else felt like a missed opportunity, and the game was more or less unmemorable to me.
i never knew they made so many games in this series i thought the switch version was just a long awaited sequel 😊
I love this series so much ! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💚💚💚💚💚💜💜💜🩷🩷💙💙💙

Quick Answer.
YES.
6:50 We uh... didn't get to explore the Present Day Mushroom Kingdom in PiT, only Peach's Castle (which served as thd Hub for all the time portals).
That's funny because when I think of Mario and Luigi, my first thought is Partners in time.
partners in time is my favorite. i really like the story of the game and i remember the shroob princess really scared me and was one of the most diffucult boss i fight in videogame in that time. always have a place on my heart
Bowser actually does find out Mario and Luigi were inside him at the end of BiS, that was the credits' scene fight
I've only played the first two and loved them both. I plan to marathon the whole series soon though...
including the dreaded (and unmentioned) Color Splash
I can't see myself not replaying them every once in a while
Im one of the few people that think paper jam is a 10/10 game, when i first saw review's of that game i thought it was the worst thing ever made, then i tried it and wow it immediately became my 2nd favorite (1st is Dream team)
Paper jam is overhated in my opinion. It is a good game even if it lacked in some areas :D
I'm currently replaying the ds version of Mario and Luigi's Bowsers Inside Story and its still fun to this day
Nostalgia trip.
Thanks for the list of all the games. I will try to get as many as I can
I thought this series was done after the devs went bankrupt and I’m so happy to see it come back with Brothership and you better believe I’m gonna get this game at launch
I am 100% there with you, I would pay a ludicrous amount of money for a new title and it is back :D
2014 i played all of dream team at the ripe age of 9. Came back and played all of dream team at 19 in 2024 again. It's not nostalgia genuinely had a great time playing the game over again
I can't believe what they did to my boy the Jump Helmet in the remake.
I have a feeling that the reason Bowser's Inside Story got the remake before Partners In Time was because Alphadream was likely about to go bankrupt and tried to remake the game that would likely sell the best, which was Inside Story.
On god Dimentio should’ve been the villain in Paper Jam. He needs to come back
Fun fact: Bowser's Inside Story on the DS runs at 60 fps, while the remake runs at 30.
I hope they reference the babies in brothership, now that they have an engine for Switch I can hope for a PIT remake :D
Brothership is so addicting omg
Now that we have brothership I hope we could get a partners in time remake on the switch.
Partners in time most underrated one top favorite
Short answer:YES
Long answer:YES
I will say this for the microphone section. The intent behind it was to get you to blow into the microphone, rather than just make noise. If you're talking about the same section I'm thinking about, which is the giant bowser fights. But otherwise, it's a... game on a device with touch screen as an advertised feature. that's like getting upset the wii had moti-wait most of the internet did do that...
hmmm.
Bro is out here talking about Bowser's Minions and Bowser Jr.'s Journey like they are fun at all.
I think you forgot to mention a big part of Dream team, the boss battles where Luigi would turn really big as well as the enemies. Also you would have to tile your 3ds sideways and use your stylus to fight, bringing a new way of fighting, this and many different things that dream team did that made it my favourite by far.
Dang that was a GREAT part, I am going to replay DT next ! :D

Yes they were. I really liked the certain point where we saved princess peach.
