    Thanks Alex! Just subscribed to your channel! Loving the content. Can you do a tutorial on articulations in Fl studio? I would like know how you deal with switching articulations.

  • @landofviking
    @landofviking 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Another tip is to store your Kontakt Librairies on a SSD and use the DFD option on Kontakt to stream the samples a little more from the disk and less from the RAM. You can save up a lot of RAM with that technique. I don't recommend doing this on a HDD cause usually, streaming from the disk is slower than RAM and you don't wanna spend an hour loading a patch, lol.
    Or you can be like Dirk Ehlert and get 64Gb of RAM! :D Anyway, nice work, Alex.

    Thank you man, this is a game changer for me. Kontakt used to be my nemesis, always creeping around the corner just waiting to crash ableton, straight killing my vibe. Not no more.

    • @tuck295q

      Is this the reason why I get the “kontakt is running out of memory, we are going to crash soldier!”? When I try to open my work on cubase? 😂

      @@tuck295q yeah i was getting those same errors, it's a ram issue. try razer cortex and/or getting more ram

      Nic Allen for real!?
      I have a laptop, not sure if I can change ram to go up. Im broke from getting so many instruments for kontakt.
      I just try to go into one of them taking whole entire night and tried to disabled all instruments....
      It worked and load so quickly now. 😂
      But that would mean I have to keep disable before quitting and make sure I dont turn on too many of them.

    • @jiat_spacejams
      @jiat_spacejams 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tuck295q you can upgrade ram on a laptop pretty easy. The process of replacing/adding a stick is not difficult whatsoever. Just find a stick thats the same frequency and slap it in there. You can get em cheap off ebay. But try razer cortex, it frees up ram and disables unnecessary processes. It frees up to 1.2 gbs of ram when i use it

    Can someone answer this question for me. I should probably experiment more but so you know how towards the end when he has like 10-15 instruments loaded in one instance of Kontakt, if you want certain instruments with different volumes, would you just use a mod wheel or just lower the fader on the actual instrument itself or something like that?
    Basically when I do it with multiple instruments in one instance and change the volume of a track, they all change together

  • @AndreasvanHaren

    I did the purging and yes, the ram amount in the kontakt instances went to 0, but still, Logic itself kept on using the same amount of ram in memory. This can be seen in the activity monitor (Mac OS). Even after having restarted Logic and all the Kontakt instances are showing 0 mb ram used, according to the activity monitor, Logic is still using that same amount of ram.

    how much ram do you have alex? I also want to ask that I am using cinematic strings,cinebrass,action strikes ane many more heavy libraries... sometimes my fl studio goes into underrun and produces the crackling sounds and renders the the track very badly.... when I hear the rendered track it chops the sounds which are legatto... why this is happening? is it due to my 8gb ram?? or should I expand more ram???

    • @AlexMoukala

      It might be due to your FL settings and maybe a lack of optimization. Write a post on the FL forum to ask for support there about it!

      +Cem Gelgun sorry i dont know how.I want to use 1 instance of Kontakt, load multiple instruments then assign them to different midi channels so i can play parts separate in 1 pattern in the piano roll if possible.the only way i know is using midi out but i'd have to load a bunch.I have a midi keyboard but dont know how to change it's midi channel in FL

    • @drumfrik
      @drumfrik 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, i don't get this sentence "so i can play parts separate in 1 pattern in the piano roll if possible". Are you trying to play multiple instruments at the same time, assigned in different parts (octaves) of the piano roll? If i'm right, i don't know if it's possible.
      Anyway, normally, when you load multiple instruments in kontakt, each instruments are automatically assigned on a different midi channel (as A(1), A(2) etc...) Then you go to the edit window of your DAW (FL) and assign as inputs the following channels. It will be Input -> Kontakt channel 1, then for the next track Input -> Kontakt channel 2 etc...
      Hope I was able to help you.
