Today we backfill a trench with the Kubota KX-057-4 Excavator then spread some stone with the Kubota MX 5400, I also use geotextile under the stone to build a good and solid road and it saves on stone.

@@KevinMBean that is what we have turned into. Making and preparing food has become something that comes from a package. Try to buy canning lids at a reasonable price now. We use to buy a package of 10-12 lids for a $1.25 and now Amizon is selling 1 lid for 70 cents. If I were living in town, I would be really be uncomfortable depending on others to provide my main stay. So when we group people together to have the same same we loose our individual image.

Love the video as always, I am glad also you play the music along with it. The main song used in this video I have always enjoyed. I do not here this style of music played in our area of Central Ohio where we are from.
Mike you ask also what do we do for a living? I do not watch your videos because I have acres of land and use all the equipment you show on your channel. I am a salesman have been my whole life. I had worked over 35 years in the food industry with sales to the grocery stores and big box retailers. I started watching your channel because I also love having a chainsaw in my hand to cut firewood for our fireplace. I also have a 30 ton splitter, i know a little over kill for my needs. But I am 60 years old now and have watched your channel for 2 years.
I also keep watching because I love to watch about hunting and how you function as a close family. Plus this Pandemic has only brought you all closer together. I can't wait to see the building done, plus see Hannah's Wedding or reception. Plus Melissa finally getting her swimming pool for her and the grandkids.
Please keep making wholesome videos and I will keep watching.

Talking about clean and dirty dozers - after working in heavy wet clays at the strip mine (southern Illinois) we had to use a tile spade to keep the top carry rollers on the tracks cleaned so they could roll easy and not wear a flat spot in the roller. Not fun on a low ground pressure wide track D8 when cold and rainy out. I really appreciate your references to the heavy equipment industries - a lot of great memories for this retired coal miner. Love watching Ty enjoying the big orange equipment.

I agree. I used geotextile fabric under a new construction driveway that's 500 feet long and passes through a known sink hole formation that fills with water temporarily during thunderstorms. The fabric has prevented my driveway from sinking into the ground for 4 years now. I also have no weeds or grass growing up in my driveway. It's well worth the investment.

Mike, while you have the post hole attachment dig holes on all 4 corners for posts plus maybe some around the gym door area???
If not I'll take bets on what corner gets hit FIRST! My guess is south-east (if the gym doors are facing North) 😊
Each bet cost $5.00 and the total goes to the Hunters' wood bundle fund or Burger fund???
Whatever post is the first will be put in a drawing (names of people that guessed right be put in a hat) & Hunter than will pick the winner. The winner will get a FREE hat or mug from Hunter!

Good testament to using “road fabric.” Lots of hard opinions for & against this step. I trust that you used it because it was the right thing to do. I also intend to use it as a way to save rock from sinking into our clay soil. Glad to see you using the land plane. Very handy that you can use it going forward and back (unlike a box blade).

Question: with joining the PVC pipe, why are there 2 types of solvent cement used on the join (clear and purple)? I'm no plumbing expert, but here in Australia, we only seem to use 1 type of solvent cement / glue to join PVC. I have seen some plumbers also use priming fluid to clean the pipe join first, but that is more of a clear water like viscosity (similar to acetone) that evaporates before adding the thicker solvent cement.

    • @johnsadler8637
      @johnsadler8637 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

That purple pre-treatment functions like your cleaner. It is runny and evaporates fairly quickly. I have heard that it softens the surface of the PVC some as well, but I don’t know if that is accurate.

If that's grey pvc, don't run water through it. This is for electrical wires so it has lead in the plastic. only use white for water.

It’s just a sleeve, a conduit the water line itself will run through it

Pretty cool to see your big supervisor out there today. He will be running the equipment before you know it.

Are you planning on installing a floor drain connected to the downspouts in the new building for getting rid of the snow from the machines and for washing the equipment. With the radiant floor heat you will have thawing snow and puddles all over the floor.

Good morning from NC! You got a lot done in an evening’s work. I have learned quite a bit about small details watching this process - thanks for that. It is nice watching your vision emerge from the original status. Ty does a good job supervising - I heard him tell you something, maybe you weren’t doing it right? 😉😄
