You two make me smile every morning.....its a great way to start the day....thank you Mike and Melissa....👍👍...keep on Shining you two...Have a Day🌞🌞☀️☀️
Oh man, Spring is finally here! Calling for 81° Wednesday, here in Hickory NC. I can't believe how many dogwoods are in my area, both sides of most roads and every house seems to have at least one, some with 4 or 5! Easter Lilies too! Thank you Lord for the beautiful colors, the woodpeckers and all the other birds back from the south. I don't envy you having to shovel the hard shale, it would be nice to see you get some help for that. Great video today Mike, as always! Thank you for sharing.👍🚜😁🌞
Got to meet Kevin, about 26 or 27 years ago when he first got started on the Bass Pro Tour. He came to our town of Cherryville, NC to meet with another Bass Pro fisherman Guy Eaker who lives here in Cherryville. He was a nice young man and Guy was telling us that he predicted that Kevin would be a great fisherman. He was right. This was prior to him ever winning anything big. He's done very well since I met him.
The problem of saw dust: It seems like an oval water tank on wheels (or rails) and fitted with a Kubota attachment plate on one side that could be connected to the Wood-mizer and move with the saw head. When full, disconnect it from the Wood-mizer, lifted with tractor and then dumped wherever. Just a thought from Iowa.
I have an idea of how you can collect sawdust without alot of work. It's nice to see a guy that keeps his equipment clean. When I lived in Western NY I truly loved getting into the wood and just listening to the sounds of nature.
I am thoroughly intrigued with and appreciate your choice for musical accompaniment for your videos! Way to go MIKE!! You're always scoring big points in that regard!! Thanks!! 👍👍👍👍
Mike I know what you mean about wanting to be outside working rather in the building!, lolo! I did the same thing the last two days. I even took my mustang gt out yesterday and today. Its feeling like spring more every day!😁😁😁. Morgans have a day!.
I got to fish with a few pro's back in the late '90's during a Bassmasters Pro-Am tournament. The two notable ones were Randy Dearman and Mark Davis. It was a lot of fun and I found out that they basically were "just like me" when it comes to fishing, only they had a lot more time to do it. Kevin VanDam is one of the nicest guys that you will ever meet and certainly very talented when it comes to his profession. I've gotten the opportunity to meet and talk with many of the Bass Pro's being that I live near the "Bass Fishing Capitol" (at least that's what they used to call it) Palatka, Florida. It's well worth signing up for the chance to do it.
Hello guys from Northern Lower Michigan. I live just a few miles from the VanDam family. They own a custom boat building business in Boyne City Mich. Just across the lake from me. That family builds some of the most beautiful custom wooden boats that you will ever see. Amazing craftsmanship. Just saying...
It always a pleasure watching you two, I think I would pass on the fishing trip, however Id call it a pleasure to spend two days with your family, and working around the family Homested. Blessings From Gaston, Oregon
Love the blues background music And 2) Melissa is having a great hair day. Good look. And 3) tell Hunter I had pneumonia for swimming too early in the year!
I have met Kevin Vandam got his autograph. Fished with many of the other pros back early 2000s when i was fishing pro/am they are all great bunch of guys
Wow the inside of the barn is going to look awesome. The tin on the bottom and wood on the top. If you use a 2 x 6 and put a chair rail at the top of the tin. It looks great and will save the tin for damage. You can use stain the railing for a color off set. Just a thing that has worked well for me. Love your video’s. And your family is awesome.
Nice looking pine. If its sappy you can run diesel instead of water to lubricate the blade. Cleaner than you think and keeps the rollers from clogging up.
Wow, Melissa got Mike "Flustered" and I'd say a little embarrassed. Way to go Melissa. You now stand a head taller in my eyes. Sorry Mike, she got one "over ya" I'd say. Have a great and happy evening, be safe.
Hey Morgan's, Down here in Arkansas, we call your "ginormous woodpeckers" wood hens and they are everywhere. Can't tell you how many bucks those critters have cost me by warning everything in the woods I am around. I love the sound of them too. Thanks for sharing your lives with us on both channels. BTW Mike, when my pretty blonde hugs me I get flustered too.
Greg from northern Michigan. Are you going to have a outside wash rack area outside your new pole barn for large equipment ? If so, now is the time to rough plumb the drain line in. Your video skills have greatly improved since adding the drone. As such, I want to give you the Cecil B DeMill film award for your footage of the Woodmizer (De Mill 😁) in action. Have a great day !
Good morning everyone. 53º in Kansas City now. Overslept again, waking up with some coffee now. Rain in the forecast for today and tomorrow, heading to the Stihl store in a bit. Stay safe, be humble & kind and have a day.
Mike, An observation, when you make the other benches put a slight angle to the seat toward the back. Oh, and when they come to pour the Barndominium floor, pour the entire driveway too. Just a thought!
Great job Mike, great plug for KVD too. That would be an awesome fishing trip. The milling is coming along good. It’s so great that you have the trees available for use. Enjoy the weather while you can, get a lot accomplished and get the pool in for Hunter, he’s waiting 😁. Thanks for sharing with us, stay safe and have fun. Fred.👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋🙏🏻🙏🏻
You were smart and got your building up before things got stupid expensive. We had plans to put one up this summer. Not looking like it’s gonna happen now with the lumber prices so crazy. Have a great day Morgan family!!
Great seeing both of you in the morning while at breakfast. Even my dog smiles, I think or maybe it's the dream she is having. Love the drone SHOTS. And it is a beautiful morning here in south eastern Pa. As well.
Mike, you mentioned in your last video that you wanted to buy a tamper from Harbor Freight. I bought an auger from them and it worked fine, but when you need parts they are far a few to be found. The local dealers do not stock parts, you have to get them on line from a slow boat from China. Just something to consider.
Morning Mike and Melissa. I thought about it and I guess I could take your friend Kevin fishing with me. Fishing in Minnesota is feel good and I think I can put him on some good Walleye and Bass. You too Mike if you have time off. Jake and Vernice Minnesota.
Time to put some air in that pressure washer tire. Sorry, it's an affliction I have to noticing things. It drives my wife crazy. Have a productive day.
I have to say... the video with the music was outstanding! What a wonderful way to start the day - even though I’ve been up for 5 hours. If there was a way to double thumbs up I would use it today❣️ I just want you to know - I would travel anytime to help you - just let me know when & I will be there! Marcus from Chesapeake VA.
This is where we differ so much. I love wood as I was raised as a tree killer before I had long pants... that in fact was how dad got me some long legged pants as my legs would bleed from walking through the brambles and what not to set chokers for him behind a cat dozer or other... was a time I worked with some mules and one team of horses that were my best friend as they absolutely were in a contest with each other as to who I rode so I took to taking turns. Best friends I ever had as a kid. Any who..... I don't see any cedar there so I assume that not many if any but I think there is a red cedar on the east coast that matches the tennessee red cedar which is kinda a white wood with red swirls in it. I mention all this an miss my own point. I would love to see nice woods like cedar or mahogany or other hardwoods that turns colors after being cut and make the tables and benches out of it. Also, other than fire protection using nasty old metal for wainscot in that garage. I love wood so much that seeing it with metal siding or sometimes even sheetrock hurts the heart a bit. I used the white cedar for my closets and after she smelled it, sold to the lady in curlers. I set up gang saws to make the quarter inch thick shiplap cuts. At the time I learned the mill my step mom would have me pulling down the sheet rock and putting wood up instead. I cut every piece of wood in her kitchen out of cherry.. it was a fruit tree that actually had nice fruit till something killed the tree and needed to come down. I made her a kitchen that could of made homes and gardens... and that is a long story.
Mike, I've wondered about this for a while. Having never run a saw mill. Seeing the last cut having to be thicker for the log holders. Why not just leave the fourth side bark down and cut down to it? That last piece would be possible, save some back break, and a little time. Love the show, love your out look.. A Philly kid trans-located to Sweet Home Alabama for the Grandkids.
Hey Mike, What is the max width you can put through the wood chipper? Do you use wood chips around the property? like on trails and such. Just something you could do with the scrap from the mill. The music makes the videos, great choices of music. enjoy the rest of the day. Mike should put a pedometer on when milling to see how far your building is having you walk for your wood.
Assuming this was yesterday or the next the weather has been beautiful down here in SE PA maybe warmer...ground water is still cold too cold to wash the horses... hahahaha Hunter would be disappointed jumping into a pool but I get it...what 5 months to go for the BIG DAY lots of luck getting ready
He has a chipper. Melissa runs that. She has too much on her plate right now with Hunter & the building & pool & the wedding this summer. Mike should take that new seat out to Stanleys corner???
