This is my first bow at 42 years of age. For someone with minimum bow experience, I was nailing my shots at about 25 yards right off the rip, not bad. I am liking it a lot so far.
Own one in green. It was a great bow to get me back into compounds having gone to traditional archery years ago. Just ordered an Elite Artus and your reviews helped in both purchase decisions. Thanks for your reviews and honesty.
My old roommate's friend stole my bow so he replaced it the day before deer archery started. All they had was this bow in purple and I had him get it.I like it,I think it feels good in my hand and the draw is stupid smooth.I would recommend it.I am going to rattle can it though it looks like laffy taffy.
Bought is bow about 4 weeks ago its a fun bow the sight is absolute trash could not keep it tight. The cable guide started to chew the cable up went to a roller system style the dampeners keep moving upgrades to the bow jax now its an amazing bow and a better stablizer
Just picked up this bow. $399 at bass pro and there is a $45 mail in rebate. So for $355 and it being my first bow I would say that is good. Right now target practicing with the kids, it is better than what they had 100 years ago. Overall might be like a kids bow but I can deal until I figure out if this is something my kids and I enjoy. Then if we stay with it I can gift it to them.
I am very tall and have VERY long arms, and my draw-length is 30.5". This was one of very few bows that I could find with a draw-length that's that long. I found it on Sportsman's Warehouse website for $280 last year, so I jumped right on it. I am brand-spankin-new to archery and this is a great starter bow. I didn't like the sight so much, so that was the only thing I replaced.
I have this bow. Didn't like the sight. Replaced w HHA trax-xl5519 and added a 7" Octane stabilizer. Much more quiet, stable, and it shoots so much better.
Definitely, all my reviews are from my spec perspective, I try to say it all the time what feels a certain way to me might be different for u, gotta shoot a bow to know
@@BackyardBows Definitely interested. We were about to order from Amazon. How can we contact you about what you’re asking for it? I can email the link on TH-cam if that works?
i was interested in this bow and wanted to like it but after picking one up i couldn't get past the grip. felt like they forgot to finish it, any cheap little plastic side plates would of had me buying it.
I agree that I today's day, 300IBO is slow sure. But when that was the case, parallel limb bows were a ways off. While the riser may be short compared to the modern past-parallel bows, compare it to bows of 15 years ago that were flagship bows just cresting 300fps. The Mathews switchback xt was a 31" ATA bow with a 25" riser and a 308 Ibo. And that was and still is a revered platform. I think the grip size being set for smaller hands in general as it's a a grow-with-you style bow, they kinda have to. For someone with smaller hands it may be easier to 'fit' the grip. That and you've been shooting a LOT of flagship bows lately and you are spoiling yourself then grabbing a budget bow. I think it's a sleeper choices for an averaged frame female shooter or a smaller early teen male or smaller framed adult male. Sure, I think the Bear Royale or Prowess is likely the ideal female bow setup on a budget as MANY female shooters would struggle to pull more than 50lb as it is and the bow is built for that sweet spot for them not designed to eventually fit a grown man, even above average size man. They max out at 27" and 28" draw so you wouldn't be able to review them as you do being far too short for you. There's not a ton of reviews for the smaller framed, women's, or early teen size bows in detailed reviews like you give. There are a few reviews of 10 year olds shooting them set at 20" or grown men shooting them maxed out when it comes to these diamonds and the bear cruzer type bows.
My first bow i bought today was this. Im 38. I use to skateboard and collect shoes. But im done with both. Guy at bass pro shop was nice and helped me out alot. I was originally going for bear adapt. But he said diamond is good too. But when you said it feels a kid bow makes feel stupid
I just bought this bow for my wife who is 5'3 so the shortness of the bow seems like it'll probably fit her great. This is her first bow and doesnt know shes gettung it for her birthday yet. I appretiate the video. Do you have any suggestions for mods I should look at getting her for this bow?
@@BackyardBows shes wanting to try to get her first white tail here in texas. Do you think the package it has can get the job done? I appretiate your feedback my man
i had to sell my diamond alter and getting this one i honestly would rather have the alter instead of this one. it just feels cheap.... im not so happy with it but im just happy to have a bow. alter: shooting at 125 yards accurately in ab out a softball size group. (i would never take an animal at that distance) edge xt: cant hit the target at 50 yards. lol idk what im doing wrong but i hate it ahaha
Looking at picking up a second bow for friends/family to shoot when they visit, I've owned a BowTech TomKat and a PSE Bow Madness Epix (still own this bow, the TomKat I sold back to It's previous owner years later because he missed it for sentimental reasons) Would you say this bow is easy to change setups with reasonably quickly? I don’t have a full service shop set up, just a simple press and a few tools, looking to get a bow that can fit lots of people and "get it done" shooting targets or critters, not necessarily the greatest bow of all time, great review.
Hoyt torrexx, diamond edge xt, pse brute, bear has many I like (whitetail legend pro, Alaskan, legit, adapt) - for the price I would go with the edge xt
With the adjustments on both either could be used for someone to grow with, I would consider this more for a young adult that has growing to do, whitetail legend pro is a universal bow I consider, great for all
Those Shurz-Aa peeps suck. You do see the 3rd string in the peep, causing the shooter to try to look to the left or the right of it, which translates to inconsistent shots as you move your head to get your eye around that 3rd string.

I agree I just got the same

Good luck bud send me a pic when u hammer one
Will do man, what do u suggest on upgrades. I’m looking Into a better sight. But honestly I don’t know much?
Thanks for your reviews, I'm new to archery and looking to buy my first bow. Your reviews are a massive help👌
i got some string silencers for mine, the true glow string silencers. they work great for reducing noise.
lovely bow, lovely review. hope someday i can get this bow and have some good time with it.

$300 on Bass Pro and Cabela's right now. Seems like a steal
Nice bow, bought it for the daughter. Got rid of that stock site immediately though, that plastic isnt cutting it.

The edge 320 review will be up next week, how do u like it
@@BackyardBows I ended up returning it because of the new options comming out. I like the edge max specs and the new bear legend xr.
