I read a study on bow purchases and it showed that people either spend tons of money on a bow or they wanna spend less than $500. That’s why Martin went out of business selling mid range priced bows. Bear seems to have a great affordable selection. I can respect the mission you guys are trying to accomplish with that partnership.
I’d like to see a video of what type of accessories you guys use and maybe which release you prefer. That would be extremely helpful as well
@@TheHuntingPublic I think this is actually Awesome!!! My Wife bought me a Bow instead of the rifle I asked for. This was about 4 years ago?! It happened to be a bear legion. I hated that she didn't get what I wanted, but once I shot that bow, that's all I ever wanted to hunt with from then on. Only have been hunting for 2 seasons now, but I've enjoyed shooting the bow since I got it! If not for the affordable price, I'd still to this day, would have never even shot a bow! Nothing against other brands at all!
My second bow ever I bought from an archery shop, a little out of my price range, but they let my put it on lay away. When I told my wife, she told me we should have spent the money on a new dryer. I tried to explain that I would have a hard time hauling a dryer up a tree and killing a deer with it. She was not amused.

And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

I love to see you guys shooting Bear Bows instead of Mathews/Hoyet or Bow tech . Bear is a GREAT hunting bow for the normal working class person. I owned a pro shop for over 25 yrs and could have shot any brand of bow made but I loved the Bear bows I shoot a Bear Traxx and it is a fantastic bow. Love your guys videos, I get all fuzzy inside when I get that notification on a new download from you all. Good luck this season and Ill be watching.

now a days most bows are very good. it's cool you love your Bear. i have had elite, bowtech, hoyt, and they are all great bows.
I own a Bear Traxx as well! It's a very smooth shooting bow. Draw is smooth, solid back wall, and I dont notice any vibration. Quiet too. Bought it brand new for 450 since it was a few years old. Dont regret buying it at all.

I don't think I've ever felt like I was 'saving' money at BP or Cabela's.
The only one I'll allow to work on my bows is me. But I agree support the local shops
Bass pro and cabelas have a bunch of no at all pro shoppers that will throw people off with lots of BS. Honestly I'd rather introduce new hunters at an actual archery shop that at least knows what they are doing and talking. Thell order you a package bow for the same price straight from the shop fresh. It educates the new bowhunters better....I'm not advertising or trying to get brownie points. I'm just talking fact.

I have the Fred Bear company locally in Gainesville FL, they have a 10 year warranty on their bow's. I had a broke limb, took it in and no questions asked, replaced it. I probably will never shoot anything but bear.
I still harvest deer with a 1978 Jennings model T compound lol. Original string, flipper rest, nylon spring loaded Berger button, aluminum arrows, wasp 100gn 3blades, three pin sight with 20yd pin that uses a button battery to light the mini led! If it's not broken, don't try to fix it 🤣 I have drooled over the modern bows for years, but my trusty original bow keeps putting them down for me! I definitely got my money's worth 41 years ago. 😲
I totally agree if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, but At the same time I feel that if the technology is obsolete replace it , and you can’t say that you don’t feel the same way unless of course you are riding a horse to work and mowing the lawn with a rotary mower , rubbing 2 sticks together to make dinner , have never had an x ray or takin an antibiotic
I just got my bowstrings replaced after 6 years of use. After another 6 I'll start thinking about buying a new bow!

My opinion on buying a bow from bass pro, is that it is like getting a haircut at walmart
It’s really depends on the the employee working in bass pro. If the employee is good they can get you by at bass pro. But bass pro usually does not carry higher end archery products. They also have you bug cables and string to restring bow.

Switched over from hunting with a recurve to a Bear compound a couple years ago and the bear bows a solid. This year I got an obsession to try it out but you guys will definitely be happy withe the bears.
That salesman/pro-shop employee from Archery Field and Sport sire seems like a class act and SUPER knowledgeable. He doesn't push bows based on price he just helps people find what fits and feels good. I wish there were a lot more people in the hunting/archery/shooting world like him. I also wish I lived anywhere near that shop cause I'd support their business without hesitation to support his professional and high quality work.

Bear makes great bows and their customer service is second to none. I'm shooting a 2011 Bear Anarchy single cam and love it. Super smooth draw, very quiet and very fast.
Modern entry level bows of today shoot better than top of the line bows from not too long ago. The biggest innovations were parallel limbs, string stopper/cushion, d-loop, and drop away rests. Top of the line bows shooting carbon arrows back in the day sounded like a gun going off no matter what you did to them and tuning 2 prong rests (not drop away) could be very difficult, especially with a helical fletch.

I have the spyder turbo....you will be shooting 40 yards like it’s 20....no joke buddy most accurate Hoyt platform out there I just put new limbs and strings on mine just to do it bc they were not wore out just did it for peace of mind 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
The luxury to shooting expensive bows is how comfortable they are and how comfortable they feel to shoot.

I've been wanting to pull the trigger (so to speak) and buy me a brand new Mathews bow for years now. Have just been slow in writing the $1,200+ check to get it... haha Your video is VERY useful! Was on cabelas.com looking at bows boots and hunting goodies was like well let's see what TH-cam has to offer and bam you guys were at cabelas/bass pro shop. Lol love the videos that you guys put up. Would love to see some target segments. And how you guys are practicing for some of those shot situations cause we all know not every shot your going to take is going to be like 3D target shooting at a range.
Great videos of the buying experience ! I managed an archery shop here for years, before Bass Pro came in. You nailed it though and are right. It's a little trade-off, but high level of personalized service and knowledge is typically found at your bow shop, wher bigger selection and somewhat lower prices are at the big stores. Both fun experiences.

Buying a new bow is always a special time for a young man. It's a symbol of the hard work to raise the cash for the bow and the symbol of the hard work to come to becoming part of the tailgate club. One of the top (non-hunting) episodes by THP by far. And I have watched them all.
I bought the realm x last year..its unbelievable. My first pin is from 15 to 35yards. Second pin is for 50..and my pins are stacked. Flattest shooting bow ever
The problem with big box stores is that the level of technical skill varies wildly. I had to adjust every one of my 4Hers bows from Scheels this year. On the other hand, three years ago it was the pro shop that was setting everyone up with too long of a draw length. I also like to support small independent shops.

Ya doesn't have to buy run of the mill old technology bows from Bass Pro to survive hunting public land. I hunted Public land all the way up to my 40's,and I still bought up to date technology bows from pro shops who sell bows the big box stores don't sell. My take is this. A BOX STORE bow, only causes reason for an upgrade as soon as you appreciate archery hunting. Everyone wants "modern" technology. Not saying you can't kill with a box store bow. I'm saying box store bows are hand me down technology that are often rebadged and sold that Pro Shops hardly delve with. For a couple more hundred dollars, you can buy a top end flagship bow with some negotiating skills. I never recommend people buy a middle of the road bow. Buy a starter versatile bow that has the wide poundage and draw length adjusts. Get comfy,get the itch,then buy a flagship. Flagship bow will give you many more years of upgrades, especially cam systems. Everyone wants bang for the buck. Get the best bow made, and negotiate the price down !

I dunno but still killing bambies with my recurve ...simple, stick and string..works fine, extremely light to carry and I can take a shot within a second...raise, pull and release all in one motion..25yds is the max I will go ..distance of most of my kills ? 15 yds or less @ about 190fps ..

But there’s so much more that goes into it. My anal retentiveness is triggered. 😂 what about after the initial string stretch? Bows almost always come out of tune after the first few weeks (sometimes faster depending on how much you shoot). That’s just for starters. I mean I agree with the message, grab a bow and go hunt. At least they aren’t crossbows. I think it’s the fact that I know the attention to detail y’all have for hunting deer, some of the best, but your bow setups... they kill me. Of course, there are tons of good resources out there on bows setups already, and it can get convoluted (like my comment) for the new guys, but this could possibly cause a lot of injured deer. Which is what happened to me when I started. Anyways all the other content is amazing! Still my favorites. And I’m happy to hear y’all have a bow sponsor. Y’all deserve all the hunting sponsorship moneys.

I'm just here to read all the Matthew's and Hoyt boys that spent $1500-2500 on their bow talk smack about Bear Archery! I guarantee you these Bear bows will harvest more game in these men's hands, then the guys screaming about how cheap and terrible these bows are! I'd rather spend a few more weekends in the woods with my saved money then have my Mathews bow sitting in a box and I'm broke and cant afford to go anywhere to hunt, or the gas and lodging it takes to get there! Went into Bass pro in Boise Idaho to spend $1,200 on a new bo, I was ignored for 20 minutes and when I finally talked to someone they were very disrespectful and rude they barely answered any of my questions, I spent my money somewhere else and will not go back!
You might want to think twice before playing anything by Paul Gadd (Gary Glitter) in the future. He is regarded as a pariah by many in the UK and Australia.
An interesting video. I have a question... In Italy we can only dream of archery stores as you have them in the USA. What I don't understand is that you buy an bow in one store and then go to another for fine-tuning. It would be unthinkable for us to enter with a new bow, bought in another store is synonymous with bad service, because the shopkeeper almost never likes the fact that he has lost the sale of a bow. You are very much, but far ahead of us... 😢
One thing that I didn’t hear mentioned,,, on ted and Dillion’s new bows , was the 150 shot check up ,, all new bows and all new bow companies suggest that a bow should be checked by a technician at 150 or 200 shots ,, with this being said ,, I bought a new bow the week before you guys did and at 150 shots the bow had a string to stretch a little bit and the bow started making a little bit more noise when I shot it , I took it back , it was free, and the technician found and fixed it and I’m back at perfect once again,,so ted , Dillion take your bows back before this trip this week and have them do the free check up
Deal with your local privately owned shop if they aren't a bunch of crooks. I've had excellent and horrible experiences but I always give them a chance.
HI, the biggest problem with big-name companies bass pro or field and stream their bows are overpriced and parts can only come from them. This is because they pay extra money so that any repairs is through them. Also, 95% of the time the worker there claims to be a pro and he is not. most of the time only ever shot a Micky mouse bow. They can only do arrow cutting and maybe offer any further help. For the best find a real archery shop they actually know what to do and full setup and besides would you want someone to come to your shop with a new bass pro bow and have them set up the thing. Remember he has a shop because he cares and will lead you on the best ride he can for yea not just that sale. Buy from the shop guy he has a family and the passion to keep him and you going. Happy shooting

Ok guys I have never made a comment on utube or any kind of social media so with that being said I love u guys show but with this video the begining of the vid kind of hit me when the you g man had his dad's handme down and u said he needed a new one but he has killed deer with it u know guys that not everyone can go to bass pro shop and get a bow or even Wal-Mart to get a decent bow u get what u got and hunt it's not about what u have its about the hunt and the emotions that come with it u have to ask ur self do u get the shakes and buck fever from the expensive bow or the experience and the release of the arrow and track job and finding ur trophy wether it be a monster buck or a doe I would rather kill a doe with my dad's 1975 compound and get the thrill than kill a 200 in buck with a 400 dollar plain bow I'm just saying use what u got its all about the hunt and memories have fun and good hunting
