  • Anytime a company just makes one of something, you can expect greatness. Hoyt has just one budget bow in there line up. See why they didn't feel the need to make another.

    Nice! I got this bow last year and arrowed a bull with it this year at 54 yards. Complete pass through and my arrow even stuck into the deadfall. Great bow! 👍🏽💯👊🏽🔥🏹🥩

    I've been kicking around the idea of going archery hunting. There are so many options out there for hunters to choose from. After watching your review of the Torrex I decided that was the direction I wanted to go. I was not disappointed when I shot the demo at the shop. I picked it up with the Fuse package so I could start shooting right away. It's worth the money.

      It’s been 10 years since I shot a bow. Everything was stolen bow 10 guns golf cart stand tractor battery anything that wasn’t nailed down was goneI looked at phase 4 , terrain, legend. The cost unfortunately is a factor
      So I can get Torrex release and arrow points and blades along with target and stand for bare bow phase 4. But Torrey just felt good to me 24:45

    I love this bow I bought one last week. My budget was like 1500 and I shot the Hoyt torrex, matthews phase 4, prime inline and bowtech sr350. I am not a very experienced archer so there might of been a few things more experienced archers might have picked up on but for me it really starts with draw cycle if it’s not comfortable to draw back I’m not interested. I narrowed it down between the hoyt and matthews but kept going back to the torrex and just couldn’t justify paying almost double for a bow that didn’t seem more comfortable to shoot over the torrex. I felt like if I went with the phase 4 it was for the piece of mind of buying a top bow.

    The Torrex is a nice bow cor sure. I shot a Torrex XT shot about 2 years. I really liked it. I did just upgrade to a RX5 for a price that was to good to pass up. It's definitely nicer than the Torrex, but not as much as you'd think though. Good review

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kinda of crazy the price difference, considering performance is so similar, I’m currently shooting a rx7 and can’t justify the 1000 difference between the two

    • @75superfan
      @75superfan ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I got the Rx5 as a hold over for the same price as I got the Torrex for. I love the Rx5 and it's nicer in every way. But I would never pay $1700 for it new.

    I'm torn. I shot a VTM31 today and it felt amazing, but my Torrex just shoots so well and consistent. The VTM would be a great upgrade with a slight speed boost, but is it really going to shoot so much better that it justifies being twice the price?

    You suggested “rollers” and “metal limb pockets”… can you do a quick video on how to and where to get, and maybe price of that process? Trying to buy my first bow as well as for my kids to shoot in the evenings as a family. Thanks

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  ปีที่แล้ว

      So rolling cable gaurds and aluminum limb pockets usually are standard on flagship (more expensive) bows, most budget bows will have a composite limb pocket and a sliding rod cable gaurd, but it varies from bow to bow

  • @wcwcgarner2717
    @wcwcgarner2717 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I remember when that bow was 650 dollars. 900 is too much. Just save up 200 extra dollars and get a flagship bow. But if 800 or 900 hundred is all you have I think this bow is a good bow. Nice review

    • @davidhowell3609
      @davidhowell3609 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't looked lately but when I bought my Torrex this summer, it was $800 for the ready to hunt package that included a Fuse sight, quiver stabilizer and a QAD drop away rest. I believe it was $650 for a bare bow. I think considering for $800 you can get a bow that shoots this good and is ready to go out in the woods with it's a great value. Of course not all the accessories are the highest quality they're not bad. Get a good stabilizer and then you're ready to go till you can learn what type of stuff you really like.

  • @allenr6687

    I know it sucks for you but you should try the quest centec and quest thrive.. the centec will hold its own to this bow with a upgraded string stop. And the quest thrive will hold its own to any elite minus set technology. Prime string stops suck and a lot of people walk away or talk about how loud they are .the quest thrive only downfall is the module system. You can adjust limb stops or twist cables to get whatever feel you want and that bow will hit ibo speeds.
