- Howard makes some more progress on the roof skin repair on his 1977 Ford XC Panel van.
The drip gutter edge has been replaced to allow the roof to be spot welded back on once the new gutters are made.

It's a problem when you can't get it up Howard. LOL. Great display of how to remove those dents and the perseverance required to achieve a great outcome. Cheers.

I turn this on to watch you fix the roof and what comes up as a screenshot on my computer is a photo of boss xc I took at motor ex last year 😂😂😂

I’d love to see you do a 75 TD cortina
Yeah that would be cool.
0.96mm cold rolled is the same as 20SWG steel (0.038”) which is basically what the entire Ford GT40 chassis was built from
Thanks for the info, my Dad always talked in gauge.
Cheers Howard I'm following the build closely I'm doing an XC Ute ATM
Thanks for sharing your knowledge legend
Cheers mate, good luck with the Ute build
Thanks Howard really enjoying this series and as has been said I hope you are passing on your knowledge to the next generation as there is not an app for shaping metal. 😂

Looks like you have been catching up
After you deoxidine do you put any type of metal conditioner or something to keep it shiny silver and not rust while you work on it? Thanks.
Deoxidine is the conditioner, it put a coating on the metal.
Have found that anything that turns black under phosphoric acid treatment isnt actually metal anymore, rather its now black rust which is hard as anything to grind or wire wheel out.. How do you handle areas that "go black"?
I’ve been using rusted solutions rust removal gel
zoom in Steve
I told him not too.😀
Don't you have a bead roller for doing stuff?
yeah I have a basic one.
It's not how I would have done it but anyway
Yeah always more than one solution
