- My truck has been suffering from the Chevy Shake, a high speed vibration coming from the driveline. In this video I install a 2 piece drive shaft from Performance Driveline.
The new driveshaft did improve the drivability, but did not completely eliminate the 'Chevy shake'
If you have had any luck resolving this issue please comment below.
Mines does the exact same thing. The seat shakes like crazy. 45 is bad too
Another guy replaced the axel along with this and he said it was much smoother but still faintly there
Great up close video. Thanks for that. Only other vids i could find were a bunch of Edgars either hacking stuff together, or filming someone else’s shop and mumbling while somebody else was up under their truck installing it. This is the exact setup I’m looking at. Still holding up good with build quality so far??
So far, so good.
So that company sells those driveshafts in a kit like that?
Did you have the Drive Shaft Balanced?
Mine only vibrates between 63-68 mph. I just cant figure it out.
Does this fit a 4wd ??
I have 2010gmc sierra 5.3 my truck started at 45 thousand miles.Still can't figure it out.I think I've spent about as much as the truck already. If you or anyone out there figures it out please let us know.
Any luck?
Im having trouble sliding the rear shaft like i have a solid 2 inches that can the spines are still xposed any tips?
align the yellow arrows. but even still I had to sand the blue coating down.
Did you ever figure out the problem?I’ve changed to a 2 piece and had the trans rebuilt and still shakes
No. did you upgrade the Torque Converter?
My 2000 has the same exact problem at 73mph
same here 2015 5.3
How many hex nuts did you get with the kit
Enough to double nut the cross member.
Did road force balance work?
Have not done it. Tires are not the issue. I did have to go with a lower cross member. Funny thing when it's cold and the trans pump is running high. It's much worse.
Have you eliminated the wheels and tires as the culprit by using a set from another car that does not shake? Mine came when I got cheap tires so I'm going that route. If that doesn't work I will put in this 2 piece shaft
Painting your yoke is not a good idea.
good thing i didnt.
