RE Remake looks better than most games made in the sixth generation. I was hoping RE2 Remake would have been like this game...........sadly that is not the case but the game looks really good. only prob i have is Claire's new face since she had a perfect face in darkside chronicles but that is just my pickings
You and me both, but it looks like Resident Evil 4, which isn't a turn-on for me. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy Resident Evil 4, though it's just not the right bland. I wish they adopted the same style as REmake on Game Cube, or even CODE: Veronica.
Invisible Enemy Mode isn't as hard as it seems. By the time you unlock it or decide to play it, then you should have a very good idea of where enemies are. In addition, enemies also give signs such as their breath fog when outside and their shadows. *NOTE*: I forgot to mention that you can play this mode on very easy mode , which is what I did, and that the auto-aim feature DOES NOT work (I previously stated that it did by mistake)
GC was/is one of the most underrated consoles. In right hands, it has the ability to pump out fantastic graphics and games. And I also share your opinion about this remake, it's wonderful. I love the graphics and even the Pro-Logic 2 sounds are wonderful. One should also look at GC-remake of MGS, Metal Gear Solid:Twin Snakes. Though some people did not like it, I say it's about as good remake as this RE.... I love it!
I agree. Actually, I feel both the Nintendo 64 and GameCube are underrated consoles. Yeah, a lot of folks here in NA loved the N64, but its reputation has declined over the years. So many players now shit on the graphics, hazy textures, etc. Personally, I feel it's a tad unfair. As for GameCube, I think it had better looking games than the PS2 on average.... Don't get me wrong, I dig my PS2. There's a lot of great games for that platform I enjoy playing today. Still, the GameCube was sexy, and the Star Wars and Resident Evil games were just the tip of the iceberg. In regards to Twin Snakes, I had that one way back when (previous collection went up in a fire). It's not a version I care to revisit. Not that it's a bad game. Visually, it looks great. The sound's fantastic. Gameplay is solid. However, I don't care for the added visual flourish found in cutscenes. I accepted it in Sons of Liberty, though it felt out of place in Solid. Also, I loathe that they went back and re-recorded the dialogue. It doesn't sound as if they have the same enthusiasm. I remember Naomi's voice talent sounding somewhat sedate, lacking the passion found in the original. That's a real shame since she pushes plot heavily later in the game. That, and there were a few line changes that didn't work for me. The biggest flaw though is the addition of features found in Sons of Liberty. Without significant adjustment to the overall design, it makes the game a lot easier.... Now, all that said, I don't hate it. It's a good way to experience Metal Gear. However, I feel it's inferior to the original, and doesn't compare to the craftsmanship that went into remaking Resident Evil.
When you go into the bathroom pull the plug in the tub for a little scare. Lol. Honestly though REmake is a beautiful looking game that still holds up.
One of the best remakes ever done. I road my bike 3 miles to Game Factory to get this game on May 1, 02 (yes I still have the receipt). 3:30 I prefer the live action cutscene opening of the original, which I rarely skip; whereas I usually skip the CGI opening of the remake. 9:41 It's better to kneecap the zombies with the shotgun so they don't come back as crimson heads. 11:20 I still have a save where I'm halfway through the invisible zombie mode.
Damn! I envy you....again. Hahaha! I noticed that upon re-watching the footage. The one zombie in the kitchen went down easily after "sweeping the leg" so to speak. It didn't occur to me in the moment. Ugh! Half way through? Jesus! Why aren't you a professional gamer?
+Master-Cast TV I probably should be a professional gamer; finally beat level 64 on Tempest 2000 and I'm at level 95. 5 more levels then I beat the game. Then I will have beaten every game in my 398 video game collection. A professional gamer would be better than what I'm doing now.
I question that last statement. Admittedly, my knowledge of professional gaming is limited, but what few I've seen on TH-cam they seem as if they focus on mastering ONE game. Are there better gamers out there?
+Master-Cast TV I think what I said was misunderstood, I meant being a professional gamer as a job is better than what i'm doing now (construction/carpentry/jack-of-all-trades) because the people I work for always say they have a lot of work, but they sure as hell don't want to pay a lot (cheap fucks), and take their sweet ass time to pay. Just finished a job to take down a chain-link fence, they were suppose to pay me 2 days ago, I hope they pay me today. Too much work and too little pay. You see the walkthroughs on do on some of the hardest games (e.g. Die Hard With A Vengeance, Cliffhanger) so I'm confident I am capable of being a professional gamer. If we're talking about multiplayer competitive games, i'm pretty good at Splatoon and Left 4 Dead.
Oh! Okay, I got you. That totally sucks though. You don't have a contract in which it stipulates 'payment must be received within 3-5 business days of completion' or something like that?
One Dangerous Zombie isn't bad at all, by the time it's unlocked you should be familiar enough with the game to zip through most rooms anyway, and he only shows up in rooms that are either open enough to run around him, or are small enough to get through before he reaches you.
Tbh, I would play this over 4 any day. I know that will trigger some fans, but that's the way it is with me. I only beat 4 once and I wasn't really satisfied with it. There were some moments I did like when the game slowed down a bit and had moments of horror and isolation. That is the RE I know, I don't like RE when it tries to be an action 3rd person shooter. Well, except RE5 (to me that game was really fun). Idk if you played RE7, but that game gave me the same feeling of tension and horror remake has.
I enjoy RE4 though, as far as I'm concerned, it takes place in an alternate universe. It just doesn't feel like Resident Evil to me. Not really. I feel the same toward RE5. It's a good game, with slight exception to the NPC horse shit. Reminds me too much of Zero. Not that Zero was a bad game, but having to keep track of two characters proved exceedingly irritating at times. Yeah, I tried RE7. Not a fan. Again, it's not Resident Evil for me. If anything it feels more like Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Video Game. I get the feeling they were working on something entirely different, then decided later to re-work two or three elements within the plot to justify the name.
WeskerRedfield3 StreamArchive what? Didn't like the opening scene...? RE4 is the only recent game in memory that I played through more than once. Had it on GameCube then ps2 then Wii which was the best version.
They redisigned the puzzles and added new areas because they had new mechanics they wanted to implement. In ways that made it more convenient for veterans. But they also increased the difficulty balancing. It's more important to stay true to the original while making it easier yet harder. They did the same with the RE2 remake now with 3d controls. Puzzles got redisigned as well and you can finally access the second floor of the RPD building instead of having to progress to unlock a ladder. The sewers also got the redisign. Instead of being Linear and straight forward, you'll have to go through the new areas. Accessing the RPD building in the Second run is also much easier. In the original, you had to get a bunch of random keys and your encounter with Mr X to get to the main hub hall. In the remake, it didn't take much effort. Speaking of Mr X, he chases you in both Campaigns this time. But he never stops stalking you which adds to the tension of avoiding him. He's still relatively easy to manipulate and maneuver past. All this makes your approach a little challenging. Mr X is only a mut compared to what RE2 remake offers. Zombies also have gotten upgraded. They can take more damage. Besides that unlike in the original RE2 where it was fairly easy to conserve ammo, in remake, you have far less of it to conserve. It's even worse on Hardcore. Zombies can also take a bite out of you sending you to danger and you have to use ink ribbons to save your progress. Auto save is disabled. So you're going to have to choose. But yeah. Capcom knows how to do remakes right. I point this out because another remake of one of my favorite games also got released on GC. It's called MGS The Twin Snakes. I thought it was an okay remake. But they added way too much matrix style cutscenes in the game. I always thought that a remake was supposed to stay true to the original. But Kojima ordered Silicon Knights to give it an over the top style. Looks like the ablige him. But the main issue is with the design. All the level design was copied from the original and pasted in Twin snakes. They didn't rebuild it from the ground up. They implemented the mechanics from MGS2 and things like the first person aiming broke the game in half. Because without retooling the level design, it is way easier than it should be. I was still entertained by Twin snakes. So it doesn't bug me too much. They did fix the backtracking. You can get a sniper rifle with a much smaller distance to combat against wolf and changing the PAL key can be done in the same area. Don't lose sleep if all you have is the original.
Thanks, man. I appreciate it. Here I didn't even have to ask for any of that. LOL! Sorry. I always tease some of my friends that end their videos in such a fashion. "Thank you for liking, commenting, and subscribing. Would you like a hot beverage thermal mug and free balloons for the kids?!"
@@MasterCastTV I actually think you should definitely ask for it. Many times I simply forget to like a video. There's nothing wrong in asking. I hope your channel continues to grow 🙏.
What can I say? I liken it to surprising a significant other with a gift. There's no birthday, anniversary or holiday attached, no. It's pure random. "I saw this and I thought of you. SURPRISE!" Those are always the best.... Fuck! I'm starting to sound like my mom. 😋🤣
Awesome review. Even today the GC version still looks amazing, although there is the HD Remake available.I just started the play the gc version again and somehow I like it more than the PS4 Version I also own.
Right in! Thank you very much. Yeah, I totally feel ya'. My girl got the HD version on PS4, and I haven't touched it. I'm like, "Just give me the GameCube."
I definately prefer the Gamecube version of Resident evil remake to the newer versions it pushed the system to it's limits with the lighting system the graphics and sound the zombies still look terrifying especially the crimson heads .
If I don't count Fighting Games this is the game I've beat more times than any other. On GCN alone I once beat it about 5 times in a weekend, probably 6. I just fucking love it.
I think that if you want a similar game like RE Remake inside on Playstation / PS2 / Dreamcast / PC. Play Alone In The Dark - The New Nightmare. ..... Somehow, both games are quite "the same". At some matters. Obviously different. Great too.
Defensive items are cool to use but honestly once you have mastered the game like I have, they stop being fun because they give you too much of an advantage when enemies grab you. I no longer use them because I want to increase the challenge of the game. If a zombie grabs me I dont want to hurt or even kill it automatically with a defensive item and not take any damage. It just makes the game too easy. What do you think?
In resident evil 2 there is an area where u press the action key and they run up the stairs without a screen transition. So it was actually implemented in resident evil 2 first. Its the area in the police station that has the metal steps going up to the next floor with the green herb at the bottom of the steps.
I'm not talking about the transition screen going up steps; I'm talking about *not* having to press the 'ACTION' button to climb steps, like Resident Evil 3. If I had been talking about the lack of transition screen, then we'd both be wrong, because there are steps in the mansion that don't initiate a door animation (half-way).
Dude, thank you! I haven't seen you in awhile. Gotta' hit your channel more often. I totally understand that ranking. I may prefer the '96 original, but this is really fucking great. Are you primed for the RE2 remake?
@@MasterCastTV I'm a resident Evil fan. I've never owned a Game Cube but I definitely need one. I came up playing Resident Evil on the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast. I wasn't even aware that there was RE3: Nemesis on the Dreamcast until I saw one of your reviews. Im getting it NOW!.
I've bought this remake a few times with the latest on the PS3. A great game that I've beaten several times. Ever try killing certain zombies with just the knife? he he. Challenging for sure. But not as crazy as invisible zombie or invisible zombie with grenade vest that blows up the whole mansion...
Thanks, man! More Resident Evil reviews? I do wanna' tackle Zero and 4, though I think I'll stop there. May take a peek at Dead Aim and Outbreak, just for shits and giggles, but nothing 5 onward. In brief, I enjoy 5, though it suffered from a lot of the same issues I had with 4. The heavy emphasis on action over horror, having a partner I need to protect on occasion, and so on. It doesn't really feel like Resident Evil. Not to me. Still, it can be fun. Resident Evil 6 couldn't hold my interest. Seriously, I played like two chapters before I turned it off, threw it in a box, and went back to Resident Evil 2. Not a fan. Resident Evil 7 is a good horror game, though it certainly doesn't feel like Resident Evil. If anything, it reminds me of the direct-to-video sequels for Hellraiser. They weren't written as Hellraiser stories. Instead, they were original works Dimension happened to own. Some jackass said, "Hey! We have all these weird horror scripts and a beloved franchise on life support. What say we change a few minor things and make some money?" That's how Resident Evil 7 feels to me. If you had put the game on, and I jumped in without having seen the title screen or anything, then asked me, "What are you playing?" I would not have said Resident Evil. When I first saw the demo, I thought it was a new demo for Silent Hills.... I can't see myself covering these ones anytime soon.
Cool vid, REmake is my favorite RE game pretty much for the reasons you've stated. It's the most immersive and that has a lot to do with it, I think. I agree with you on a few points against the game though for certain; The live action of the opening just cannot be beaten, no other opening scene in any of the games ever come close to it, including this game. That and yes, the bonus modes for this game kind of suck, and they're really more like just irritating challenge modes. I don't know why they didn't add something as simple as Arrange Mode to the game from the Director's Cut, it was a slight change that added some replay value to the game in my opinion.
Those live action sequences are awesome, aren't they? I know I've said it numerous times before, but it's like a love letter classic B-grade horror. The B&W photography, clever editing, brilliant use of sound effects and score. It's just awesome. I would have accepted 'ARRANGE' mode. Such a cool feature. It certainly kept me busy while waiting for Resident Evil 2.
Thanks, man! I prefer the original. I mean, for me, it's like my Zelda. I'm sure plenty of folks dig the sequels and all, but those old timers that started out with the original, I'm sure they still have those warm and fuzzies for the first game. The difficulty was welcomed personally, only because I fucking OWNED the original. I needed a challenge, some new puzzles, etc.
Great review. I'd take og RE1 over remake though. There's something about original that is just better then the remake. Maybe that they added so much more that it lost a bit of charm of the original. I agree on the post game additional modes, wtf where they thinking?
This, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and Eternal Darkness are why I got a GameCube. Resident Evil REmake is easily my favorite of the three and I have it on my Switch, my PS4, my Xbox One and Steam. The Twin Snakes was cool, but the voice acting wasn't as good as the original and the cutscenes were a bit excessively inspired by The Matrix
That's one of the reasons I haven't hunted down Twin Snakes. I mean, a part of me wants to give it another go, but the cinemas *are* very Matrix-like. They were cliché even then. That, and the voice acting's odd. Mei Ling isn't as chipper, and - if I remember correctly - Naomi's lost her accent. Another thing, I think Kojima changed a detail. In the original, Dr. Clark, the person responsible for Gray Fox, is referred to as "he". In Twin Snakes, I could've sworn they changed the pronoun to "her". It's been so long, I can't remember now. I guess, if they *did* do it, it was to make up for a later reveal where Para-Medic is said to be Dr. Clark. Guess it goes to show how Kojima didn't actually *plan* this series out.
@@MasterCastTV the voice cast definitely didn't have the same conviction as in the original. Mei Ling, Natasha and Naomi lacking accents, and just inferior voice performances in general. I myself don't recall the detail of Dr. Clark either, but it wouldn't surprise me.
I'm not a fan of Xbox. When it comes to playing the game as intended, I stick to original hardware whenever possible. However, the version released on PSN plays just fine, so I imagine the XBLA version must be just as good.
Hello! That I do. I just psyched myself out a bit. It may sound weird, but I reviewed the game once before on my old series, "My Life with SEGA" on SEGAbits. If I'm going to revisit the game and do it justice, it better be fuckin' amazing. Guess I built it up too much is what I'm getting at. Once I come back from my hiatus (in the middle of a move) I'll take another crack at it.
Master-Cast TV thanks to the Re- release that your talking about the remastered version I bought the digital version it's mine now hehe 😍 cuz I never owned the gamecube back then in 2002, and i one day thought I wish I owned the game, I did play it at a friends house and that was it
Now that you mention, I believe there were a couple of screens in which it got a little slow. Can't for the life of me remember when. Haven't played it since the review. May have to break it out again sometime soon.
I couldn't play this game. I was so disappointed and I tried return it on the same day. It had a different flow to what I was expecting. I would argue it had no flow, so I couldn't get in 'the zone'. I wasn't expecting a FPS action shooter, but I was expecting free roam, not for the game to stop every time the character moved 4 meters or went through a door. I didn't like the subtitles or the clunky inventory and just felt that there were more interruptions than things actually happening. I can appreciate the fly on the wall/CCTV camera angles and the cinematic feel, and that it was more like being part of an interactive movie, but sorry, this is just not for me. I have recently played The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners in VR and loved it and I guess this is what I was expecting from RE2. Shame I had to wait nearly 20 years for it. There is a new Resident Evil coming for Oculus Quest and it looks to be free roam with tonnes of weapons and things to collect. I will be cautious before I buy, but it promises to be epic! All the best, Rich in Sweden.
All Resident Evil games from 1996-2005 use the classic tank control setup. Also what was your first Resident Evil game? Mine was Resident Evil 4 but I do love the Resident Evil Remake & CODE: Veronica as well.
I can't agree with the 'save' mechanics. It's part of the challenge. When you can save whenever you want without consequence, I feel it cuts into the fear factor. It's one of the reasons I feel Deep Fear lacks the edge, in addition to ammo aplenty, and little music.... The inventory thing's a pain in the ass though. I mean, that's part of the game, though I see no reason why Chris should have fewer inventory spaces. It was acceptable before when that aspect was part of the difficulty, but now? It's unnecessary. Still, I'll take it over Resident Evil Zero or 4 even.
Luckily the remake came out before RE4. Can you imagine if Capcom attempted a remake while RE 5 or RE 6 was in production. What an abomination that would have been.
Merkell Hawthorne I disagree, man. You can see how Shinji Mikami's action focused game design is prevalent in Evil Within. He's the one that geared the franchise into the dark ages.
This game was semi disappointing for me. I did enjoy seeing the original cast in a new light, but lighting is kinda the problem I have with this game as well as general colors. I wished they stayed closer to the original, especially in terms of enemies and bosses. The new stuff took me out of the experience. I was heavily anticipating my first Yawn encounter but was side tracked by crimson heads... not necessarily a bad thing, it was certainly different, but why wouldn't Zombies turn into Hunters?... I always thought that was kinda the idea. Maybe not but not a big deal. The biggest problem I have with this game is the lack of color. I understand the idea and the concept; make it feel more threatening and scary, yeah yeah but it made everything look... cold. The original game had a variety of rooms and colors and I felt like the original use of warm colors and lighting caught you more off guard. I get the idea. Again, not necessarily bad, but it took away from the video game feel for me and was more like a scary movie simulation. Alot of the original puzzles are here which is great, but redesign was a little too much for me. Another thing I didn't like was the serious tone in everything... but the lack of realism in other departments. Originally you had zombies, hunters and the animals and plants infected along with the grand finale; the Tyrant. Now there's crimson heads, a crimson head boss and the worst Resident Evil boss in my opinion, Lisa Trevor. Could've done without those honestly, the originals were interesting enough on their own, as well as the story surrounding them and the people of the mansion. It would have been far more interesting to see the Ticks in a small return (Sega Saturn exclusive) or a better cross over story or even some co-op. But with that being said, it certainly wasn't by any means bad. I just felt with all they had they could've done more and not made it so campy. The weapons weren't the best either. Defense items? Ah maybe just not for me but it made parts of the game too easy. Before you were gonna take a bite. Too careless and you were getting your head taken off. It just made the urgency a little less threatening and is it just me or was there more health?
You think that the original Resident Evil beginning FMV is scary? I love the game but I think it was hilarious and confusing because of the bad editing. The original Resident Evil is not even a little scary to me. Anyway, good review.
Is it a tad cheesy? Yes. However, the fact that they kept the dogs in the shadow left a bit to the imagination, which is scary. The lack of "jump scare" bullshit music enhanced the mood, leaving you with this unearthly howl of wind straight out of The Evil Dead. Also, the editing - even in the North American edit - isn't bad. It was designed to put players in the situation of chaos and, yes, even confusion. That's a classic horror move... My only complaint with the movie is that Chris mentions finding the helicopter, though you don't see a lick of wreckage in the shot leading up to it. Somebody got cheap and lazy there. Seriously, they could've just dig through a dumpster and dropped some shit in the path. It's not like we needed a wide establishing shot, but *something*.
Main thing about OG RE's horror factor is the overall mid 90's B-horror vibes, the use of your imagination, Suspiria-inspired use of colour and the general feeling of being alone. REmake had none of that, it was purely early 00's japanese-style game with low saturation graphics (everything is basically grey) and relies purely on darkness and suprise. I've played REmake once and it didn't leave any impact on me, it looks good but that's about it. Now, since we've gotten RE2R and RE3R is on the way, we most propably will get RE1 remade again with this current trend Capcom is pushing for. RE series has taken much more western and serious style with RE7 and RE2R, which would make the first game truly terrifying experience with this sort of presentation.
I think and feel that the original version from Director's Cut it's better than the remake. Of course, i like the Remake one too, but i feel like at some moments and encounters inside on that game version were lame or ridiculous at some reasons. If you did noticed at some zombie encounters; while did you enter for the first time at the bathroom, on were a zombie were inside on a bathtube. That zombie behave a little funnier. Like a joke. Or what about when already unlocked that coffin when using those creepy masks. That zombie with that beard were like another joke again, it behaves funnyer, like if it were more smarter than the others. Not a Ganado of course. The DC version it's more realistic and more serious. More creepy at some ways. I like to use my imagination rather than on deal with reality.
The zombies always respawn in this game so shooting them is just a pointless waste of ammo, what's the point in wasting ammo on shooting zombies that are just going to respawn the next time you return to that area?. It is much wiser to just run past the zombies in this game.
Not all zombies re-spawn though. Not in my experience at least. Half the time, if there's three zombies in the room and shoot all of 'em, only one will remain as a "sleeper". Even then, you'll be able to map your path around that area, or work it so you won't walk through as often. Avoiding zombies is always best, sure, but some areas are just too narrow.
Yes, you are right, I think the reason I had a hard time with the remake was purely because I dived straight into that game with the 1996 original old school mind set and strategy plan, I tried to play the remake as if it were the 1996 original. It didn't work out too well for me because I quickly found that there were differences in the game play mechanics that I was ill prepared for. I have recently downloaded the Resident Evil Remake HD version from Steam and I am going to sit down and invest some serious time into it.
Great videos by the way, your videos have kept me entertained for a good many hours today, I see there are still a few I have not watched yet so I will be entertained for hours more, highly professional, top quality content, cheers.
Oh, dude, I feel ya'. I had the same problem initially. Like the Tiger's Head statue on the first floor, adjacent to the caretaker's quarters. I tried using the same blue/red jewel solution, only to find when I put the red jewel in, a bunch of fucking poisonous snakes came down from the ceiling. I was pissed. It was then that I realized this game is actually preying on veterans' knowledge of the original game and using it against them. On one hand, it's brilliant! It made the game feel fresh again. However, I threw my controller across the fucking carpet in frustration, because I had to hunt down life after that... Gotta' love these games, right? Thank you for the kind words. I'm always surprised whenever someone says my shit looks professional. Everything is low-tech on my end, using equipment that's more than 10 years old. That's why I tried to use it as an aesthetic choice. Hahaha! I highly recommend the Saturn videos. Always feel those turn out best. That, and 32X. Unless you wanna' hear my lose my fucking mind, then I suggest you check out any "Beating 1-Up" in which I play a Master System game. Action Fighter's especially hard.
I think your videos are top notch, there are not many channels that I can go on an all day watching marathon like I can with yours, your vids are like Pokemon to me - I had to catch them all, a proper all day binge session. Not only did I find your videos extremely interesting but your sense of humour had me laughing my ass off a lot of the time as well, to me you vids have the perfect ingredients of top quality entertainment. Cheers mate, please keep up the good work.
My levels were adjusted accordingly, and it's supposed to be a little louder than the review itself. Either adjust the volume on your end, or skip the intro.
i have this for my ps3 along with resident evil zero. resident evil zero is such a pain , can't be bothered finishing it , too damn hard. as for this remake i played it a bit but then got bored. cutscenes are so goddamn cheesy X_X
I don't care for Zero very much, though I beat it easily. My problem really is that it would be so much shorter if we had the bottomless footlockers. The dropping of items wherever you want is a neat idea, but it makes the backtracking even more drawn out and tedious. The cutscenes have cheesy acting, certainly, but the compositions, editing and atmosphere are tits! Still, the live action scenes were scarier.
I appreciate the kind words, though the audio levels are fine on my end, and Nine Inch Nails is just my taste. Afraid you'll have to keep muting when you see the intro. Just so you know I don't use it all the time. I kinda' rotate 'em.
Master-Cast TV I appreciate the personalized response addressing my criticism. Personal taste I guess. I'd suggest a more subdued audio queue for your intro in order to appease to a wider audience but that's just my humble opinion. That won't stop me from continuing to check out your content though.
Are automated responses even an option? If so, WTF?! Regardless, anytime! Personal touch is always best I feel. :) As for the intro, as I said I rotate 'em. Also, if someone's turned off by a 15 second intro, then I kinda' don't care. You don't like it yet you stuck it out and enjoyed the video regardless. Must not be *that* bad. The videos I make are glorified message board threads. I use 'em as a means to share my thoughts and feelings with others using one of my favorite formats; video. I like my shit to look and sound like the video equivalent of a garage band. That's my taste. That is what I like. That's kinda' how I feel, ya' know what I mean? If appealing to a wider audience mattered to me, I'd review way more Nintendo products, lose my salty language, and make a bunch of Top 5 videos. Hahaha!
Fair enough, buddy. lmao Personally, my biggest problem with this particular intro is the noise. Noisy music pisses me the fuck off. Not that it's too far above the sound levels of the rest of the content, it's just that it catches me by surprise and I am notorious for getting easily irritated. So that second unlike you got yesterday was mine. But after your message I liked the video since I had calmed down by then. lol Looking at it now I see there's now a second unlike, too. But that's not me! lol
LOL! Fair enough. Believe it or not, I'm easily irritated too. I may not come off this way in the videos but I'm a bit of an introvert. On top of that, I'm a cynical prick. No worries about the dislikes. Honestly, I'm used to getting dislikes either for my language or for pissing on someone's game. A lot of folks hit dislike on the Jedi Power Battles video, which I get, though I feel was fair at least. Then folks will give dislikes for saying "fuck" three times, or even "cunt". Apparently, if you use profanity you're just an AVGN clone. Who knew?
▪️ I remember this game lagged just a small - but noticeable - bit when it first came out. The lags happened Mostly during certain parts of cutsceens & change of camera positionings.. I'd like to see the version 2 improvement in comparison to version 1 side by side... I would imagine they would've made a smoothed out version for gamecube... 🟥
▪️ Well, I just looked to see if I could find if they ever released an improved version... and I didn't find anything. I'm guessing they didn't. I read back in the day that they probably released it with lag bc they didn't have enough time to iron it out before the release date... but the reality of might be that they simply couldn't fix the problem using the gamecube... but I find the latter hard to believe. 🟥
I still say this is one of the best looking games ever created. Good lighting and atmosphere go a hell of a long way.
This game’s visuals still look good in 2020. Amazing remake and the definitive version of RE1.
The remake still looks awesome. It was probably the best bang for the pre-rendered buck ever.
One of the best looking games on the gamecube. Still holds up really well to this day.
I totally agree. Just wish the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake were being done in this style.
+Master-Cast TV
I probably should be a professional gamer; finally beat level 64 on Tempest 2000 and I'm at level 95. 5 more levels then I beat the game.
+Master-Cast TV
I think what I said was misunderstood, I meant being a professional gamer as a job is better than what i'm doing now (construction/carpentry/jack-of-all-trades) because the people I work for always say they have a lot of work, but they sure as hell don't want to pay a lot (cheap fucks), and take their sweet ass time to pay.
I wish it could be ported to the 3ds. One of my all time favorite games.
That would be an appropriate follow-up to Deadly Silence. That, or Resident Evil 2!
GaMeStuH I have some good news for you
I NEVER PLAYED THIS GAME. I NOW HAVE IT FOR THE GAMECUBE AND GOING TO START IT APRIL 11TH AT 12 MIDNIGHT
I can hardly wait
Good review, favorite part: “Shinjay Mekamay”
This is how you do a remake
One Dangerous Zombie isn't bad at all, by the time it's unlocked you should be familiar enough with the game to zip through most rooms anyway, and he only shows up in rooms that are either open enough to run around him, or are small enough to get through before he reaches you.
I may have to give it a go then, just for the fuck of it.
2:41 Connect the God Damn Dots!!
Gotta' love Ministry, right?
Fuck it. Ima get this on amazon for my gamecube.
DO IT!!!
Totally Did. £5 on ebay. Boom.
I'll fight any man who claims Barry says "jibble sandwich"
LMAO! I'll honest, it often sounded as if he said "jibble." It wasn't until later that I realized he was saying "Jill."
That's a lot of challengers.
Cool video bro. Liked, commented and subscribed 👍
Love the intro and great upload bud...
Thanks, man! You rock!
Once again, nice review. This is a remake that will be remembered.
Thanks, man! Yeah, no one will be forgetting this one any time soon. Especially with the HD remaster.
Amazing game
I definately prefer the Gamecube version of Resident evil remake to the newer versions it pushed the system to it's limits with the lighting system the graphics and sound the zombies still look terrifying especially the crimson heads .
Love your reviews. ❤
If I don't count Fighting Games this is the game I've beat more times than any other. On GCN alone I once beat it about 5 times in a weekend, probably 6. I just fucking love it.
Damn! Even when it was new, I don't think I was that hardcore. I still need to revisit Resident Evil Zero. It's been a bit.
Awesome review as always. This game is amazing, I'd say it shares my top spot with RE2 as far as best in the series goes.
Dude, thank you! I haven't seen you in awhile. Gotta' hit your channel more often.
I totally understand that ranking. I may prefer the '96 original, but this is really fucking great. Are you primed for the RE2 remake?
Gaming was the shit back then now it sucks
Great review. I love this channel. Your review style is my favorite.
Thank you! I really appreciate that. You a GameCube fan, a Resident Evil fan, or both?
Good to see you tackling more resi games, you ever getting round to re7? Wondering what your opinion is on that one.
Great review!
This is my favorite game of all time.
Thanks, man! I appreciate it. I'll get around to the other RE games on GameCube eventually.
Great video I prefer the original over this because I had a hard time with the remake
+Master-Cast TV yep at least it was better then the directors cut with the crapy music and what do you think about the ds version of resident evil
Great review man!
Thank you very much! I appreciate it. :)
Still got to play this one but right now im stuck with the ds port and 4 on the pc
I really dug the DS port. Wish I still had it. :(
Pedro Henrique Fonseca da Silva DS game is actually pretty good. For a handheld at least
@@MasterCastTV The reveal that the patriots are the radio team of MGS3 was silly anyways
@@MasterCastTV the voice cast definitely didn't have the same conviction as in the original. Mei Ling, Natasha and Naomi lacking accents, and just inferior voice performances in general. I myself don't recall the detail of Dr. Clark either, but it wouldn't surprise me.
So I have an Xbox and a GameCube
Which one should I get ?
I know obviously the Xbox but the GameCube supposedly has better controls ? Idk I need help
I'm not a fan of Xbox. When it comes to playing the game as intended, I stick to original hardware whenever possible. However, the version released on PSN plays just fine, so I imagine the XBLA version must be just as good.
Master-Cast TV so get it for the GameCube 👌🏽. Alright thanks
You're like what Classic Game Room wishes it was. It's still amazing to me that he's a fucking millionaire now.
Another great review, i never played the game, for shame
You've never played? Did you not have a GameCube, or a Wii? Heck, it's even available on PS3.
Do you still plan to do Panzer Dragoon Saga?
Hello!
Was the remake a gamecube exclusive?
It was for a short time, though it was later released to the Wii, Windows, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One. It's everywhere now.
Master-Cast TV thanks to the Re- release that your talking about the remastered version I bought the digital version it's mine now hehe 😍 cuz I never owned the gamecube back then in 2002, and i one day thought I wish I owned the game, I did play it at a friends house and that was it
Master-Cast TV I wish it would be put on the 3ds.
Great review, thanks man 👍
It was my pleasure, sir!
Do you experienced slowdowns in some moments?
@@paulbell3682 The menus are painfully slow for the 1remake. Even re3 1999 didn't have that issue.
@@mrpussinboots4252 Not a big deal unless you're laughably impatient.
@paulbell3682 yeah agreed. Really not that big of a deal
My complaint is keeping the awful save mechanics and inability to carry more shit. But it's fantastic
LOL! Please, I have enough nightmares as it is.
I've said this many times. Resident Evil 4 (although a fun game) ruined the franchise.
Frank Aliberti No. Shinji Mikami leaving is what ruined the franchise.
Merkell Hawthorne I disagree, man. You can see how Shinji Mikami's action focused game design is prevalent in Evil Within. He's the one that geared the franchise into the dark ages.
Turner D Century lmao they would have probably fucked it up and put it in first person or give it the RE 4 treatment
Goddamn. Some people can't be pleased I guess.
Not only that, but both campaigns followed identical paths with minor differences. And the true canonical ending IS NOT available on game! Pathetic.
This game is tedious and not that fun but it is still addictive.
Ilove resident evil saga
It’s pronounced shingee mikamee
Just realized how rude that sounded that wasn’t on purpose
Fairly certain that's how I pronounced, based on that spelling.
Cheers mate, please keep up the good work.
intro too loud !
Filipe Santos yeah you must be new to the serie
Jesus, what's with the obnoxious music? The content is great but the intro made me mute the video.
As for the intro, as I said I rotate 'em.
Hahaha!
Fair enough, buddy. lmao
Personally, my biggest problem with this particular intro is the noise. Noisy music pisses me the fuck off. Not that it's too far above the sound levels of the rest of the content, it's just that it catches me by surprise and I am notorious for getting easily irritated. So that second unlike you got yesterday was mine. But after your message I liked the video since I had calmed down by then. lol
Looking at it now I see there's now a second unlike, too.
Who knew?
Shitty soft drink??? UNSUBSRIBED!!!!!!!
You're right; it's more pissy than shitty. My bad. LOL!
HOW....HOW DARE YOU!!! >:O
Who dares wins. ;)

I remember this game lagged just a small - but noticeable - bit when it first came out. The lags happened Mostly during certain parts of cutsceens & change of camera positionings..
I'd like to see the version 2 improvement in comparison to version 1 side by side... I would imagine they would've made a smoothed out version for gamecube...

Well, I just looked to see if I could find if they ever released an improved version... and I didn't find anything. I'm guessing they didn't. I read back in the day that they probably released it with lag bc they didn't have enough time to iron it out before the release date... but the reality of might be that they simply couldn't fix the problem using the gamecube... but I find the latter hard to believe.
