Great job showing us all the preparation for your Iceland trip. I appreciate the transparency of how you let your audience know how you are feeling as you prepare. I found your channel when I watched your Iceland video. The part where you repaired the missing bolt/stripped threads with cord and tape helped remind me to pack some zip ties for the trip I'm leaving for tomorrow. I am traveling to Hawaii and cycling up Mauna Kea. I am starting at sea level and riding from the beach to the summit at 13,800 feet of elevation. It is just a one day ride, but watching others prepare for rides like your Iceland trip helps put me in the correct mindset. Thanks, and keep up the great work!
A few recommendations: -I have 2 foldable duffel bags that fold flat on top of the rear rack that can fit contents of my panniers and drybags. They can either be checked in or fit in carry-on. -Minimize. Everyone ALWAYS overpacks on the first (second and third) bike tour. -Consider 'pull on' sun sleeves or a thin long sleeve shirt/top, leggings (will double as a base layer when it gets cold) and a neckerchief bandana you can use as a face shield (wind/dust). Sun exposure can be harsh on skin (and telling in later years) and sunscreens have way too much chemicals not good for the environment. -Usually, you can get a box from a local bike shop at your destination for the return, though cardboard recycling collection is making that more difficult. Thanks for the Banff vid! Canada is beautiful but cycling along the shoulder with the noise and buffeting as heavy traffic and semi riggs fly by isn't!
nice woman. just started following you. the first two videos i saw yesterday just literally saved me from suicidal tendency. thank you and keep what you have been doin..
I watched a few of your videos totally out of order, I first found your loop of Iceland one and then watched a few of your cycling ones before this one. For the Iceland one I thought, how random is that, that she happened to have a friend from back home in Iceland at the same time. Makes much more sense now that I have watched this. Looking forward to watching more of your adventures, not sure why but I found your videos quite calming and chill compared to others I watch.
I used to get stress acne too, but I managed to stop worrying about the little things so much and that helped a lot. I don't know why you're stressed about anything anyhow. You're going on a fun adventure and it's going to be great! 😁
I really enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing this for us! And I hope you are doing well! Working hard makes you stronger! That's what you are! And Never give up! Keep going because you are great! And you got my full support!
Good luck biking in Iceland. I did that in 2019 and found it to be as much of a mental challenge as is a physical. The constant wind is either your best friend or your worst enemy. The views and geothermal features are awesome, I hope you have a safe and enjoyable adventure.
Best on your trip. Don't mind Iceland , it is going through a continent renovation. Alot of rocking and a shaking going on in the form of micro quakes. The North American plate and the European plate slide down the middle of Iceland. Island building. Should be a great ride. Enjoy!
Hey, Jenna Alexis. Your Iceland tour should be incredible - congrats on planning it all out! Also, if your significant other hasn't already done so, have him get those spots on his back checked out by his MD and/or a preferably a dermatologist - I speak from personal experience.
Great video! 🙌🏾 Did you manage to keep the bike box and your suitcase at the airport? They have some storage space that one can rent for few days to keep such items?
Very nice video and good luck to your adventure. Very surprised your choice of shoes. Those would kill my sole of foot (not sure that right term not natice in English so did use google translator ). Is there reason you not using clip-in shoes and pedals ? For me those make cycling much more comfortable.
Looks like an amazing ride. Do you think this is one of the best places to ride in America, for scenic rides. It’s seems very nice but also lots of bike paths. I plan to go to America but limited time for bike ridding. One ride would be nice.
Hey! I am planning to make the same journey with some friends in June/July and your videos have been a great source of information and inspiration. One question - which specific storage business did you use for storing the bike box? Would appreciate any leads as I am having a hard time finding a locker/unit large enough for bike boxes. Thanks!
Long winded explanation but: I had some trouble because I planned to store it at the storage units in the Keflavik airport but not only were they too small but they were only able to be used for a few days. Since it was hard to transport the box (I had a very large box and couldn’t fold it) I ended up booking an appointment to bike my box up at Kria cycles in Reykjavik and throwing away my box BUT I would not recommend this. I went to Kria cycles twice in total. Once before and after my trip for different reasons and the customer service wasn’t the best in my opinion. I also assumed (maybe my fault for assuming this because this is how it works in Canada- ) that because I booked the appointment they would have a box ready for me. But when I showed up with my bike they told me they had no boxes left! So I had to run around town to find one, and still paid about $80 CAD for them to pack it up. If I were you I would call the eco campground in Reykjavik to see if they can store it for you. I ended up storing my luggage there and staying there before and after my ringroad trip and not only was it cheaper than most other storage options, but their storage for large items was just a big room rather than individual lockers! The campground was also really great in itself (it has a hostel attatched to it as well if you’re not into camping!) Definitely check before hand but I think it might be the best option! I think I remember seeing someone store a bike box there! Best of luck with your trip and definitely prepare yourself for the wind and rain and bugs lol!
Eat as much carbs as you can fruits, noodles, rice etc....Also fill one water bottle with sugar water. Don't be afraid to put a lot of sugar mix in water.
Thankyou I appreciate it! And yes I’d love to! You can message me on Instagram @jennakoenig (the link should be in the video description) and we can chat there :)
I like those glasses too for cycling, don't know about other activities, but cool for cycling. Please no more tattoos. I want to see your beautiful skin, more than your tattoos.
I don’t care how many of these bikepacking channels come out. I will watch them all.
This is such a relaxing vlog. Love the calm
I'm glad you liked it 🥺
Girl I’ve been watching your vids for years and it warms my heart seeing you do what genuinely brings you joy!! Keep doing you

to be fair I get acne whether stressed or not🤣 but the stress was mostly about the planning/logistics, the adventure however was well worth it !
Shout out to the top tier whistling!
I like your adventures and doing it by yourself! I go by scooter, but it is the same kind of adventure! Go on!!!

Thanks for the sick videos! Definitely making me want to plan an international bikepacking trip.
the whole process about packing and unpacking everything sounded so stress full , but its great that everything worked out eventually
Nice everything looks amazing
Taking notes because I'll be cycling Iceland's ring road in July. Definitely in prep-panic mode.

@@jennalexisko This is awesome information, right now the eco campsite looks like our best option. Thank you!
What cameras do you use! beautiful scenery!
Ride safe! ❤
Can you please make a video on how you planned this!!!??
Inspiring!
Great stuff! How is that Diverge treating you?
I love it! Granted it’s the first “nice” bike I’ve owned but I’ve put a little under 2000km on it so far and I have few complaints if any
@@jennalexisko I have the exact same model, and I think for the money it's hard to beat. Looking forward to more of your content!
Just a matter of time. You will get lots and lots of views and followers from cycling community.
very kind of you! Thankyou for the encouragement ☺

Anyone know what camera she uses to film?
Love the touring, but package food is a silent killer.
Hey, Iceland is not all 'ice' like its name lol.
