    That’s a really nice track, that motor definitely likes to wine in the whoops.

    What do you recommend for mounting the receiver? Do you use some heavy duty two side tape, velcro or some sort of strap?

    • @TheHammer
      @TheHammer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Gorilla two sided tape.

    • @SnarkyRC
      @SnarkyRC ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use 3M outdoor double sided tape. Holds great and comes off clean when you want to remove it.

    What type of screws are found on these 2WD Brushed XL-5 cars? Are they Hex head or Phillips head? Do all the the Traxxas 2WD brushed XL-5 cars always need to have the blue antenna stick out of the body shell? Or can you keep them under the body shell when driving? thx

    • @TheHammer
      @TheHammer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most are hex screws. I think the hinge pins are phillips head. The antenna under the body should be fine.

    for a stock ++ build i would get a vxl 2wd slash then put on the low cg chassis, new tires (pro line trenchers), new suspension, motor/esc cooling fan, body lift kit, and then some durability items like rpm castor blocks, rear bumper, new A arms, and bearing carriers. Do you think that would be a good build? It is expensive being around 800 dollars including the truck, but is that worth it? I looked at two shocks, these pro line shocks being around 140 for a set and one set on amazon GLOBACT set of 4 for 25 dollars, both are aluminum. The question then becomes, do I need upgraded shocks or at least aluminum shock caps?

    • @TheHammer
      @TheHammer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly, I wouldn't invest a lot of money in a Slash. For that kind of money, you can buy something much better.

    • @charliemaybe
      @charliemaybe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheHammer for that kind of money, you can buy a trx 4, a battery, charger, and a scale winch for the same price. A UDR is 750 and with a battery/ charger setup is around 900ish but that is stock with no upgrades to grip or durability

    • @TheHammer
      @TheHammer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@charliemaybe I mostly race 1/8 scale buggy. I only race the "Spec Slash" class cause it's a "box stock" class. Everyone races the exact same thing and it's a lot of fun.

      When the grip is up a little better and you get a run at it, maybe. But it's gotta be perfect. Definitely not worth the risk.

    • @TheHammer
      @TheHammer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I cant remember right off, but its the extra top speed ring and pinion that comes with the car.

    • @etxkevin7452
      @etxkevin7452 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @TheHammer

    In the box, my Slash 2wd was having 4 identical tires, didn't know the rear ones are supposed to be different than the front ones :(
    An other thing that s*x with Traxxas, empty oil shocks and they don't give a single little bottle of oil for them :(
