  • In this video, I describe how I prep my tires for my Traxxas 2WD Spec Slash. This will be followed up with a nice coat of Paragon ground effects tire sauce and some track time.

Keep up the spec slash content! It's coming back!

Can you run fronts on all 4 corners for a wider stance in the rear? Would that help? Or be worse?

I tried it. It Always worked better in the stock configuration.

Do you or anyone know of the Kumho tires are better than the BFGoodrich? I have the BFG and curious if there is any difference

I always preferred the khumo, but that was on a higher bite track in extreme race conditions.

As a local spec slash racer, not gonna lie, this is NOT what you should be doing to your tires. Sanding them down not only wastes a ton of the tread but also removes a lot of the burs that give traction. Unless you're traction rolling a lot, DO NOT do this to your tires. The OP may have had luck with this on his track surface, but this is definitely not something to do as "tire prep" in a general sense.
