    My Traxxas must be invincible. Run it about 3 times a week over the past 2 years and NEVER had anything stock break on me.

      Stock was probably the most durable man once you start doing too much to one thing you create a weak point somewhere else

      Mine is strictly a track queen, the only thing I've broken were the front C hubs and spindles.
      They were replaced with aluminum along with the steering bellcranks.

    I totally agree about getting better gears on the trans except for a steel spur gear. A plastic spur gear will save your motor from being damaged if there happens to be a rock getting stuck in the mesh. A $8 spur is a lot cheaper then a new motor

      In my opinion do what I did when I first got my slash and run it exactly how it comes out of the box until you find a weak part and something breaks, then replace that weak part with an upgrade for that part, if you upgrade it slowly when something breaks you will end up learning the car even better and you will always have money for something if it breaks, if you buy it and then spend all your extra money on wheels and tires per say then your out for the rest of the day when you break something and can’t get it fixed because you just bought that new body or something idk I hope that made sense, upgrade as you break and you will have a blast man! Don’t feel like you have to do everything right out of the gate

      @@itzzgraham ok thank you for the advice because I was literally planning on buying a car and upgrading almost all the parts but now that you said upgrade as it breaks and makes more sense so I have extra money to spend on some other things that I might want money such as a new body tires, etc. and whenever something breaks I’ll always still have money to buy that broken part but when I buy that broken part upgraded it

    If you're shearing the shear pin, your slipper isn't adjusted properly.

    • @itzzgraham
      @itzzgraham  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Maybe so if I just broke one bit I replaced it over a dozen times while adjusting the slipper, I went ahead and got the upgraded one out of the traxxas drag a slash and I was fine

    • @itzzgraham
      @itzzgraham  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man thanks for the comment! I run hot racing all the way around 90mm in the real 105mm in the front only reason they are different lengths is because my hobby shop gave me the wrong pair one day, but they still worked and since I haven’t broken another one, I haven’t changed them

    Good job and all good upgrades!
    Regarding HR steel pinion & spur gears, since you're breaking teeth you might consider their 32p gears as they are much larger with more surface to spread all that power.

    • @itzzgraham
      @itzzgraham  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow! Thank you man I should check out the larger 32p way stronger ⚙️ haven’t broken anything in a while in the transmission, even after throwing larger diameter tires on 🛞Thank you for the comment and like!

      On 32p spur gear what are the pros and cons for that ratio?

    • @lesdmess845
      @lesdmess845 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@gamercat7004 The biggest pro is bigger teeth means more surface to spread the power. Also, adjusting the mesh is much easier. The con is you have to do a little math to get Traxxas published gear ratios such as found in the Slash VXL manual page 24. For instance to get 60+ mph on 3S Traxxas recommends a spur/pinion of 76/31=2.45 ratio. The closest to this ratio using Hot Racing is 50/20=2.5. This the ratio I am now running in my Monster Slash and I am getting very similar performance per Traxxas but using different esc and motor.

    • @gamercat7004
      @gamercat7004 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Les DMess seems like it's going to be more better I stripped like 3 steel spur gear and pinion from hot racing in the 48p.

    does that fan also help from overheating the motor??

    • @itzzgraham
      @itzzgraham  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No it’s just an ESC fan, they do make motor fans but I haven’t had a problem, I always keep a temp gun in my bag and whenever it gets close to 200 degrees I just let it cool off a bit before doing some more running, these VXL motors are bullet proof

    • @itzzgraham
      @itzzgraham  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@highclass7491 where do you live? Here in vegas we get pretty hot and it’s a must buy you can get away without a motor fan if your carful like me, if your bad days during the summer are above 110 then yes I do suggest it for the long run, but honestly man get a temp gun for 10 bucks off Amazon and just keep a watch out on your motor esc and servo temps, if they are under 180ish after a hard bash you should be golden man but just check every once in a while if you think your overdoing it motors and esc’s are expensive, temp guns aren’t 😎 get that fan if you think it’s needed after getting a temp gun man remember 180ish is the sweet spot, start getting any hotter and you can have some problems, that’s why I never push it over 200 degrees
