Thanks for watching! I've just noticed that I named the patch 'Dyanmic Clean' and not 'Dynamic Clean' haha! No idea how I didn't notice that after looking right at it for the whole video! Please just ignore!
hey man just a quick question, is it possible to assign those two switches as patches instead of bank up and down? i dont wanna tap dance like using an analog pedal, thinking of switching to this.cheers man!
Being able to create profiles to balance out the input levels is THE feature I am impressed with - the one I knew I needed but didn't know if anyone offered it. I have struggled over the years with finding an easy way to get level unity going in between different instruments/pickup combinations. And watching one of your other GT-1000 CORE videos showed that and that's what made me purchase one yesterday. This thing is so awesome!
Beautiful playing at the start Dan very melodic and soulful! Pikcing mine up tmorrow and upgrading from a Boss GT-1 so yeah any tuturial type vids would be very welcome CHeers mate!
Hi Dan. I have too much gear and was looking at selling either my Kemper or the GT1000 Core and a. bunch of pedals. Since hearing your tones I persevered in working on tones I wanted and have finally made the decision that the Kempe goes. Great channel mate. Nice work.
Hello, Is this better sound than kemper? Can it metal? Should I buy used kemper or boss or something else (except quad cortex). You can recommend a universal device for the home, which would sound and feeling close to tube amplifier? The boss is repulsed by the unnatural cosm/katana sound experience, but I haven't played 1000
Yeah man, they are both killer units in my opinion. They are quite different to use but neither is better. I do like that this one doesn’t ever reach a processing limit though 😂
Yes! +1 for this idea. Be cool to A/B and dial in the same sound /effects on both units as closesly as possible and see how close they are. still don't have an HX (Stromp OR Effects), and I doubt I'd go this way, but keeping my options open. I've seen a lot of Boss demos and they all have that "stomped on/mashed/heavily processed" sound, but keeping my options open because all of them are so expensive. Cheers Dan!!
Absolutely! Check out 9:28 in this video, got it dialled in. It’s not super wet as it’s my main gigging preset, not much call for hyper 80s but it can do it. th-cam.com/video/zRtLDChwWOE/w-d-xo.html
@@DanLeggatt I spent a couple of hours on it list night I can't believe how huge it sounds. I was laughing out loud I've never heard a sound like that. It's just like the guitar sound for Hysteria by Def Leppard. It's 10x bigger than that it's so big it will need to be trimmed up before I can use it in a recording or live.
Awesome. I will be subscribing to catch these GT-1000 tips, etc. I got one about 8 months ago ( my first digital processor) and have come a long way on it. I have a request for you. See if you can dial in the Match Combo to come close to the DC30, perhaps with 3 stages of gain... I have had no success with the Match Combo. I want to stop lugging around amps and pedal boards. Look forward to your videos..
Thank you! Do you have any good video or audio clips for the kind of tones you’re thinking of from the DC30? I’ve never played one so would need a point of reference. Cheers 👍
Great video. Boss amp sims sound thin and digital. IMO better off w line6 ,wich has come a long way or even better head rush both are good alternatives to the expensive stuff like kemper and fractal.
Boss seems to have recently raised the price on this unit from $699 to $720. Not sure what the reasoning is for that as it's getting very close to the price of the full size GT1000. The (dual amp/dual cab) feature is the most important option on this unit for me. Otherwise, I'd just get a Pod Go and call it done.
I hadn’t noticed the price shift to be honest. With Brexit and other things going on in the UK, a lot of gear prices have been on the move so it wouldn’t be surprising. I’ve never tried the PodGo but this is definitely a great alternative to my HX Stomp. Loads more power.
To be completely honest I don't have much interest in getting a QC for myself. I would certainly love to try one out at some point of course. If anyone I know gets one I might ask if I could borrow it for a few video perhaps.
@@DanLeggatt i means that if you find a QC you’ll get more views. He’s not totally wrong despite I’m not convinced at all by the sound of QC for my kind of music (blues, rock, 80’s)
Monstrous sounds. Do you think the unit's strengths are more as a studio tool or for gigging, or both? And is there a way these patches will be shareable/available for download? That dual crunch amp sound is awesome 😯
Cheers man! Good question, I think it makes a great studio tool because you can even use it as a stand alone interface to connect to the computer which is really smart. My main use would be live though. I’ve been working on a ‘complete gig rig in one preset’. Using the expression pedal and external footswitch, I can pretty much have access to everything I need to a grab & go gig. I’ll hopefully do a video on it soon. With regards to downloading the sounds, it’s definitely something I’ll look into if there is enough interest. Thanks for watching 👍
Excellent playing, sir. Just had a question about the GT. I play through a VHT D50 which is a Dumble clone, so it's got a passive/unbuffered FX loop. If I were to purchase the GT would I need to run it through an effects loop buffer? Thanks in advance.
Thank you! That's a good question. D-style amps are pretty picky about what's in the loop. I'd imagine you could get away with it if you used short cable runs. I couldn't say for sure though unfortunately.
@@DanLeggatt I like it a lot! I've never played through a real Dumble but have played a few of the boutique clones and the D50 does a great job of copping that sound and feel at a much more affordable price. I have it pairrd with an open back cab running a G12k100 and it sings.
Great video! Any experience using this unit in 4 cable method together with a tube amp? If so, does it suck any tone compared to going straight from guitar into amp?
I have briefly given it a go but nothing too in depth yet. Perhaps a video on using it 4cm with comparison of tone with and without? Anything else you’d want covered?
@@DanLeggatt Wow that would be really nice! I tried 4cm with hx stomp (only using the effects in stomp) and even when every effect was off,it was clearly a more "dull" tone compared to going straight into the amp.
Fucking hell man your tones sound so nice. I’m all for high gain for metal but sometimes you gotta roll it back for some Chris Stapleton kinda thing. Sounds bad ass Man!!!
Not bad, I suppose. Boss just don’t seem to be able to break the mould. Their stuff all sounds the same. I’ve had an SD1 pedal for forty years, great pedal, but nothing’s changed. Oh, send my regards to your Irish relatives, Dyan and Mic 🤪
😂 Can’t believe I didn’t notice it. To be honest I did feel that way about the earlier GT offerings. I was a long time GT8 user and spent a good amount of time with the GT100. To me this unit is a real departure for them, the amp models feel really realistic and it lets you set it up how ever you want. You aren’t stuck to the way they think you’ll use it if that makes sense? I’m really impressed personally but I get it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Wow, these really sound good! The clean and the dual crunch are my favs. Any chance you could share them?
Thank you. I’ve been asked a few times about making my Boss tones available. Will hopefully get something sorted soon.
Did you ever upload your tones to share? They are REALLY GOOD! Your advice concerning eq was spot on, I think. Thanks
You gotta check out the pitch shift detune chorus/reverb 80s clean tone this thing can do. It's like having a Bradshaw rack in a little box.
