- 👋 Today we have the rare opportunity to compare the all new Ford Bronco with one of the original Broncos! Both of these SUV's are two door and have some similarity's. Of course there is still so much different from a 1988 Ford Bronco and a 2021 Ford Bronco. This 88 Bronco had a V8 and 4X4 and the new Bronco has a modern twin turbo V6 with even more off road capabilities. Crazy to drive the 1988 Ford Bronco to see what it was like. I bought a new 1988 Bronco. Loaded XLT, regatta blue with white top. LOVED IT. Drove it over 235,000 miles. Regretfully let it go in 2003 for an Expedition.

The 2021 Bronco takes its styling cues from the 1966 Bronco. Much the same way Ford did with the 2005 Mustang and the 1960’s Mustang. Cool comparison video!

Hard to believe this vehicle was released around 5 years before you were born and I was still in high school, haha! I know it's hard for young people to get down with the old school Bronco but you did really good in driving and explaining everything, lol 😄

If you acrually measure the new one instead of going by info on the internet you will find it's much smaller but ford ncluded the spare tire and fender flares in their dimensions.
NGL, I prefer the first Gen broncos over any newer generation.

That 1988 Full Size Bronco Is a Short wheel. base F Series Pickup The New Bronco Is based Of The 1st Gen All Full size Broncos 1978-1996. Were short Wheel base F series.

The new Bronco is on a Ranger platform
The new Bronco I think uses a framework similar if not based on the ranger platform, a Bronco II and the original first gen might be a cool comparison.
Yeah this is based on the Ranger frame. Would be cool to check out some other older Broncos
That 88 will still outlive the 21

The size of the new Bronco is kinda in between the original/Bronco II, and the Full size Bronco (like the '88).. the new one in this video looks big because its a Badlands trim, which has bigger tires and sits higher, my Big Bend would look even smaller than the 88..
I sure wish that Ford built the new Bronco like the 1966 - 1977 broncos in size . For did get it right with the Bronco II .in size . If they only kept that size into the new Bronco . It did not need to be fat and big like it is .
Yeah these are a bit bigger than a Wrangler even. But in todays market they just have to comply with regulations and things for safety. So there's only so small they could have made it most likely
They can make small cars ! They can built the Bronco's smaller and still be safe . But small cars in the mid 60's and up to the 90 was smaller than the cars we have today . Even the fiat is fat .

How ironic I just saw an identical BRONCO to the one in the video earlier this week. It is the ONLY 2 DOOR BRONCO or B.S. in COS, CO. All others no matter what color or trim level are 4 DOOR.

Note: not only did you miss the armrest you also said "manual locking diffs up front" not hubs
After awhile it can get a little annoying especially if you are out on the highway! Nothing wrong with it, but to drive it everyday, it's pretty loud...and you know what I meant :)
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Ya highway is a little annoying. I have an 89 5.0L myself, it has the 5 speed with the overdrive.
The new bronco won't last as long as the 88. And if you put them in to the test i bet the new one will break before the old.

That 351 isn’t massive it’s just a small block Ford
It's massive for what it is compared to modern vehicles.
If you think the 351 is massive, look at the ford 460 big block from the f-250 and the f-350 of the time.

Old Full Size Bronco's Are Way Better Looking, That New One Is Ugly!!
I'm sorry. The new Bronco is based on 1977 or older. The Bronco you're driving is not a straight axle it's a twin beam. My 78 bronco would be a closer truck to a new Bronco. I've driven every year Bronco. Thos sucks. Good luck on this comparison.

They did not have locking differentials on the 80s 90s Broncos they had locking hubs

That is actually not the oj bronco. His was a 93 and the 5th gen. The one in this video is a bricknose 4th gen bronco.
