Running out of content ideas I see. U-Haul at least where I’m at has the biggest selection of POS trailers on the planet, no matter what the type or purpose. Absolute junk with zero maintenance and wiring that Duff could do better. I rented a flat bed low boy style to haul a lathe I bought and the thing looked like it came out of Bagdad.
Looks like you put out only the finest content!
@@moremortskerepair4354I try my best being a one man show with limited material and not having a guy with a Chinese sounding nickname doing my editing. But I guarantee, a review of any U-Haul trailer won’t be in my future. That’d be like doing a video on a wheelbarrow from Walmart and saying how good it is.
Baghdad* dumb asssss
What's that Chinese thing below your mustache? Oh, that's my chin. 😅
@@darrenstorey495 thank you Captain Obvious. No sh|t.
Hey Thomas I've been a fan for quite awhile and also bought stuff from you too....I work for Uhaul and would like to thank you for not shitting on us like a lot of people do...great company to work for.
I say it how it is!
@@moremortskerepair4354 an that's exactly why we like your channel, but the Duff dog is really why lol
Definitely
😂sure looked like a sponsored video to me 😂
I'd have to agree that those car haulers are fantastic. So easy to safely secure the car on and off you go.
Glad you just got a warning 😅!!! Glad you made it home safe too!
Hey mortske I am a old man non the grand kids have the house now
I live in the basement but I enjoy the videos
Rock on young man
Just the greatest channel and content creator! 🙂 much respect ✊
Much appreciated
Maybe it is just me, but I found it quite humorous that you did the finally pan around the trailer like you do in all your car videos. Keep up the great work and I found this video very informative. You never know when you are going to learn something new.
😁
I reckon this U-haul trailer is a rare example of when over-thinking something is a good thing.
Agreed
OH NO!!! Not a HAWK TUAH! LOL!
I had to borrow a U-Haul car trailer to go out to Nebraska to pick up 2 cars. My son in law had my trailer hooked to his truck. Because I rented it, I had the U-Haul on mine. I will say that I LOVE the tiny license plate that U-Haul has on the back of them. BTW, Iowa has speed cameras right before the IL state line. Luckily that little plate is up under the back of the car and the speed camera's angle couldn't get it. That would have been a pricey ticket if they could have read the plate! Thanks U-Haul!
Lol
I was an independent U-Haul dealer for a many years and I can confidently tell you that unfortunately U-Haul DOES NOT sell their trailers used. They are wonderful trailers but it’s a liability issue for them. I was also part of the program that sold that sold the used equipment so I do have some experience with the matter.
Good to know! Thanks for the info!
So you are saying to have one of these you have to steal one.
Can confirm, I worked there in 2017. The main reason they dont sell and most of the parts are modular is for ease of repair or rebuild. One of the enclosed trailers burnt to the ground due to something with a battery catching fire inside, they shipped it to the main base and built a new trailer on the frame. They do sell the vehicles once they reach about 150-160k.
I replaced SO MANY fenders on the tow dollies.
@@mexicanspec I suppose that or rent one. 😬
Those trailers tow so nice. Straight as an arrow loaded or unloaded. Very smooth ride. I do get a little pushing on the surge brakes though on some of them.
I agree these are great trailers. We moved from MA to PA, about 500 miles, and also rented the biggest moving truck as the tow pig. Total was about $1000 a year ago. Aside from not being able to turn in one gas station, the trailer was not noticed by a driver who had never pulled a trailer or driven a truck that large. Huge savings over shipping. My Europa rode steady the whole time.
I’ve rented a box van , and a trailer a few times , I must say they are pretty easy to deal with . They also offer moving boxes , heavy blankets and many other useful Nick knacks if you are in the need . Great video Mortzke . Cheers 🇨🇦
Thanks for sharing!
Hey Mortske- those U-Haul trailers are the best. I hauled a ‘72 K10 from Bozeman to Alexandria and it pulled so smooth there were good stretches west river that I forgot it was even there. I imagine they smooth out even more over 90 :)
I know that stretch!
I've always wanted one of these exact trailers for myself. It hauls a Model A perfectly. But they don't sell them when they retire them, they get crushed/scrapped.
We sell them when they time out so to speak
I want one of those. I rent them often. They drive so smooth and stable. No matter what you put on it.
My buddies uncle bought one of these at an estate yard sale thing. Someone had rattle canned it grey, it came with perm AZ tags so OBVIOUSLY he never re-registered it, and we all used that thing for nearly 15yrs before someone he loaned it out to got pulled over and it came back being stolen.
U-Haul was actually very decent about it, they saw his bill of sale from the estate and had the charges dropped.
Whoops
Well Mortske I got up at 2 am and went trucking. Here I am 9:00 in the evening and I'm watching your channel and once again you are putting my ass to sleep! Love you man! 💯👍 Catch you on the next one , I'm going to bed.
Thanks for sharing this video with us
Thank Mortske, thanks Bob and thanks Chin!!😊

20:07 "Didn't kill it though soooo SUCK IT!!!"
OHHHHH CLASSIC!!!😅😂😊
The old 67 Chevy is lookin good. I really like that pickup. It's amazing how much difference a little cleaning,
the proper wheels, and lowering it makes...
Those are pretty nice trailers. You mentioned $7500 for the trailer if you wad it up. I was wondering what
they cost new. They should get a good price when they buy them new, because they probably buy quite a few
of them every year. If I wanted to buy a different car trailer, I would look into buying one when they dump them.
If a guy could get one cheap enough, I would replace the bearings just for piece of mind, brakes if it needed them,
and I'd put 10 ply tires on it and a winch.. Peel off all the U-Haul stickers and paint the fenders just so it looked less like a wore out
U-Haul trailer. The thing would last a lifetime and then some. The folding drivers side fender is a really good idea...
When I moved from Alabama to Arizona 1,700 miles I drove a box truck pulling a car on just such a trailer it did perform well.thanks John from Arizona
I literally rented one of these on Friday...worked like a charm!
Dude!!! Informative video!!!✌️
Appreciate it!
Thanks for all the information on the u haul trailer. I thought about renting one. Thanks again, have a good weekend.
Our pleasure
Best trailer ever ❤. They also are very stable towers. Ive got at least 10k using them. (Two lateral cross country moves). Ive never had any issue with fishtailing or the trailer pushing me. (The trailer brakes are spot on).
That edit.... Letttttttssssss gooooooo!!
Good evening from Cape Cod ⛵Oh oh, you've got the U-Haul bug, Mortske Mafia box trucks will be everywhere 😂 actually that was some very sound advice. Keep the awesome content coming 👍✌️🇺🇲
Good to know thanks for sharing!
You bet!
Nice , Very nice ~~ but for someone like me , I'd have to read the directions five times before they even began to make sense. Thank you for the upgrade on U Haul , very professional and to the point . Ill be waiting for Monday and the regular will it run and maybe even fly ,because that's what starts my week and keeps the scratches on my calendar up to date . Take care , till then , Stuart in Canada ..
TO BAD YOUR LOOSING THE SHOP WITH ALL THE COOL UPGRADES OF LATE.... LOVES 4 DUFF
Great video. They really are engineered well.
U Haul has swiped my card many times for renting one.
Yes they do
Now you went and did it.
You rent from U-Haul you’re gonna have to watch this training video! Speaking of videos. DD Speed shop is rocking one of your sweat shirts!
❤❤ love your videos awesome content😊
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you all for the support of this Chanel ❤
Thank you too!
Thanks I've been enjoying the second channel content!
Glad to hear it!
I was cracking up you did the music and the closing even on the uhaul. 👍🍺🍺. And I watched till the end as usual
Glad you enjoyed it
Rolling rolling rolling. Keep them doggys rolling. Rawhide! ... sing with me Mortske.
Wow. Fold down fenders. I Didn't know that about Uhaul trailers.
Good advice. Could have trailered that Chevy down here to Texas for me. I mean while your at it.
🤙
Just started. I’ve always wondered about these
Thanks for the video you Guys.
Our pleasure!
Didn't know what I expected, but it wasn't this awesome thorough walk-through of a U-Haul trailer! Nice one! Cheers for actually showing off loading and unloading.
"Suck it!" - Chin haha!
Keep it up guys, ya'll rock!
Hey, thanks!
I've used one of these and towed a 1958 Jeep Willys Station Wagon from Upper State PA, Wellsboro to Cape May Court House, NJ in one day. It was a life changer and I made it!.... To get it up on the trailer I bought a portable winch hand held and it worked like liceity sweet!...
Awesome
I need to fab my fenders to do that on my car trailer. U-haul has some great designs.
They really do
I said the same thing! 😅
Awesome description and demonstration. I’ve often wondered about these. I enjoy my 16’ dual axle flatbed and scoff at suckers using these in a pinch. Maybe they aren’t that bad.
Life changing
Excellent! The Standard Oil sign makes its reappearance 😂
You got that right!
They are Definitely a good Deal in a pinch For sure Morstke
Just last summer here in Canada I bought a UHaul for dolly with legit registration stating it was a Uhual brand and still had bin tag on it from 1970. I did a bunch of work to it and used it a bunch then sold it. Buyer was towing it to Florida with his motor home and car on it. The thing still worked perfect!
Good deal
The only problem with U-haul trailers is the company policies part. I made 3 reservations over the years and every time I showed up to get the trailer I was told "sorry we don't have one" and "a reservation does not guarantee you will get a trailer, it means you have priority over a walk-in if we have one available." If you live someplace where there's a BIG u-haul site, you probably won't have a problem. May also have better luck getting the trailer during the week instead of the weekend when the demand is higher...
Forget the U-Haul trailer, that Standard oil sign and Bernie set up towing outside your shop looks awesome! Thanks Mortske! (yes U-Haul trailers are great)
You bet!
You are correct about that trailer I hauled a dodge Dakota 4 door from Marquette mi to Brainerd mn in the winter and that trailer came along great. And it was cheap too
Awesome
Thanks!!
Thanks good video 😊
Thank you too
107 in a 55 was my turning point. Then I took to heart the old line, To finish First, First you have to finish. So now the trip takes as long as it takes.
Good info, Mort
Glad it was helpful!
Thank to Chin for that edit in the beginning. Ledgend
You know it
I hauled my 68 impala wagon on one of these-it was close to being too much but yeah these are sweet.
One thing you didn't mention is to make sure your towing vehicle has a class 3 hitch. I used to see pickup trucks with a trailer on the back hooked up to a bumper ball and the bumper hanging down at a 45 deg angle ready to say bye-bye.
Thank you for this info. That standard sign is the balls. I assume it has a globe that once resided on top. Too bad you cant find one to replace it.
Another great video 👍👍
Thanks again!
For me uhaul was the way to go. Brought my project 68 C10 long bed 900 miles. We used a come along to o pull it on the trailer worked great
Good out line on the U haul Mortske. I especially like the... "Don't have to worry about people asking to borrow" I've had trailers since the early 90s. Both Dump and car. If I'm not ready for a project I sometimes keep the trailer loaded. It cuts down on. "Hey my girlfriend has a line on a lawnmower" can I use your tandem axle, dove tail, 21 ft trailer to pick it up. Tomorrow, while you're gone working. (LOL real recent question). Sorry dude she's loaded! LOL. People don't take care of stuff and they come back regularly when you say yes! LOL🤣🤣 a real issue. Glad to see the channel from a fellow gearhead! 👍
Exactly
Those slotted dish mags look sooooooo good on that ole blue Chevy pickup 🥰
They are!
Thanks for the uhaul auto transport unboxing
You bet
I have an old 5x8 enclosed U-haul trailer. It's so overbuilt it's not even funny. 6 lug axles, aluminum floor over 3" channel iron frame, bulldog hitch. It's a beast
Not even 30 seconds in and he hit us with the Hauk Tuah 🤣
You know it!
So much truth! I bought my trailer last year, and rarely use it, but I get asked to borrow it constantly. It's such a nuisance, I've put it up for sale.
Good idea
Cool video...thanks!🐾🍺
Glad you enjoyed it
The best of a U-Haul trailer, the fender tells you how fast to go!😆
Lol
That truck is so good. 😎
It sure is!
I tell everyone the same for the Uhaul Motorcycle trailer,
Can't be beat, cheap to rent and the quality of that trailer build is very impressive.
Does not really pay to own a trailer
Good to know
Glad u made it home come back to ur second home soon
Good Video 👍
Thanks for the visit
Thanks Mortske....... now I may have to plan or get a reservation because everyone is going to grab th3se things.....
Lol
Yep, I used one to move from Wisconsin to Tennessee. Only hang up, I had was while applying online, and it said I couldn't tow my vehicle (72 Chevelle) on it. So I changed it to a 72 Cutlass, and it was acceptable.😮🤣 Great trailers had absolutely no problems.
Oh wow!
thats pretty cool, and helpful. going to tow my 89 c2500 long bed standard cab on one of those when i move in 2 weeks.. dang man 93! go go speedracer...
Awesome
Rented them dozens of times. They are great.
I wish they sold these trailers I’ve used them quite a bit love these trailers
'67 is looking good
I caught myself trying to help Chin onto the trailer.
🤣
Now I kinda want one
I hauled a 61 Coupe deville on one. Barely fit. Towed it 600 miles with a 3/4 ton super duty. No problem. I told them I was towing an Escort....
Lol
Puddin would be proud!
Fantastic educational video! A public service announcement that does not put a guy to sleep!
Exactly!
These are really common here in Australia, U Haul and Move yourself, our trailers here have a hand winch
Some are interstate where you can pick up a rig in Victoria and drop the trailer in Port Augusta, or Perth etc
Handy for people relocating to another state
Interesting
Yes Sir!!!
Don't be surprised if Uhaul calls and says, "Hey, can we use your video as advertisements for our trailers".....then tell 'em that you want a $1,000 royalty for every one rented. 😂😂😂 Hey, you never know, it could happen. I'M SOLD, im gonna go rent one!! Thanks for sharing, Mort! 🔧
Fun fact, U-Haul has made 3 TV commercials in 75 years. It's just not their thing. Two of them from the '80's are pretty hilarious, they're on youtube.
The vehicles and trailers across America are their advertising. They're part out our landscape. Hollywood rents them to make scenes feel authentic. For example, Val Kilmer unloads an AK47 into a 1990 F350 U-Haul 14' Box truck in the street shoot out scene in Heat, with Al Pacino. Basically most times you see a U-Haul in a movie, the movie company placed it there, not because U-Haul pays them for placement, they pay U-Haul to rent them as props to make their movies seem real.
Love the Uhaul car trailers. You can fit a regular cab squarebody dually on those trailers... did you know the brake light housings can support the weight of said squarebody dually? (That one may have been a sketchy haul). I was also able to fit a 1994 F150 extra cab short bed on one of those trailers. Fun fact, the ramps can double as a trailer extension!
Lol
Cool thanks 👍👍👍👍👍🤔
No problem 👍
100% Agree,Uhaul always had the best car trailers.Tell Uhaul you are hauling a Honda Civic on the trailer if they ask.
Consider that the relative weight of tow vehicle and trailer is a critical factor. They have all of the towing capabilities of tons of vehicles in their database and they take a picture. If you've exceeded, the liability is void and everything is on you. I have an old Toyota Sienna that I used to pull a heavier trailer more heavily loaded from MD to MA years back. It was only squirrelly when empty once, but I was well over the 1750 max weight on that trip -- triple to quadruple. I did not try to use that Sienna to tow the UHaul because I knew they knew. And the cost was pretty low to just rent their truck too. Why risk killing other people? BTW, do you think the cops don't have towing data?
I have the Penske version, very nice trailer
Awesome
hey mort good job keep it up good show.
Thanks! Will do!
I will say a 1965 f100 long box will not fit on these well ( its really really close to the end ). But I do like these trailers, used them to haul a couple cars.
I researched buying used u haul. They do not sell their used trailers. And they have their own factory that builds their trailers. That's why everything is branded.
I have never seen a u haul trailer for sale.
Hauled a 68 T-bird from Ohio to South Carolina on one of those. No issues and built like a tank!
Awesome
Nice crew cab
Thanks
A couple of years ago, my wife and I took our Volvo V70R on a day trip up to a lake around 80 miles from our house. While up there, the car broke (badly) in the middle of basically nowhere. We had a well known three letter car towing service, so we called them. It was Labor Day weekend, and they couldn't help us. Absolutely useless. We were good and stranded so we called some friends of ours that just happened to be 4wheeling in a place where they could pick us up on the way home. Incredibly fortunate there. Next morning Uhaul was open on Labor Day, got one of these trailers instead of the dollies since the car is AWD and went and got it with my truck. Was an easy trailer to use. Lesson learned, don't count on those three letter car rescue policies. They had the audacity to call us back the next day to ask if we still needed help.
Good to know
If you're doing a modest tow, it's a great idea. That said, I once towed a '63 T-bird with no drive train... and it was, to put it mildly, an "experience". Any full-size/long wheelbase ride that is pre-70's is gonna test the limits of that trailer. Especially on long, 200 mile-plus pick-up's. Still, it is a budget-friendly option worth considering for newer rides - like many of your mullet-worthy rides!
I bet!
No power train prob shifted the weight distribution of the trailer.
The dually tho!!!!!
