You’ll probably never have A/C or any safety features, but if you can drive for more than 15 minutes at a time, that’s a win.

Vicegrip makes way more off that rusty crap with his so called giveaways than they would ever be worth. Between the TH-cam and the merch. I wouldn’t be shocked if he wasn’t getting 5 times plus what they’d bring on the market. Pay attention and you’ll see all car channels once they get a little popular the “ giveaway “ starts because it makes bank. I’m mainly talking about VG , Casey’s customs and Cleetus to name a few. They making a killing on their giveaways. Tony probably didn’t make a lot on this one so this is as close to a total giveaway I’ve seen. Good for Tony

I’ve always viewed Tony as a solid guy. This is above and beyond. Tony and Barb - Tech Tip for filling with those lokar braided type dipstick tubes Get a garden sprayer 1 or 2 gallon from walmart or harbor freight. cut the wand nozzle off, that pipe fits exactly down into the lokar dipsticks. Get a tire valve stem, drill a hole in the sprayer tank and install the valve stem. Fill with ATF, pressurize with air hose, press trigger on wand to dispense! No mess No spills

Agree with EVERYONE the '55 Buick Special IS AWESUM! My favorite Buick Special is the 1958. My step Mom had one when my 'ol Man married her in 1962 and I fell in love with all that chrome, that awesome dash and interior AND the Buick "nail head" V8 with glass packs absolutely blew my mind. I was 16, my car was a '53 Ford 4 door, 6 cyl, 3 on the tree my Dad gave me and I hated it,, I asked if I could drive her Buick and my Dad said,, "ABSOLUTELY NO!" At the time I was pissed,, but once I grew up I knew he made the right choice 🙂
I wish somebody would do that with my dad's old truck. Since I don't have the money to put it back on the road it would be really nice to drive it again in his memory. Actually make a good truck for Derek for his TV show or one of his TH-cam videos, heck I'll just give him the truck.
We all know how Tristen sees his Buick in his mind. We've had those kind of dreams too. It will one day be his dream if he hangs onto it and just keeps at it. It's not the destination... it's the trip. As a teenager I bought a 1958 Mercury Monterey and drove my brother to California from Boulder Colorado for Christmas vacation. It didn't have reverse, a tire bubbled on the way, a wheel bearing ate itself and we spent two days trying to get the bearing race off in a parking lot in Anaheim (ended up going to Disneyland for New Years). We made it back to Boulder (we had a few 8 track tapes... the Doors, the Beach Boys, and Cream, which we listened to until we couldn't stand them). I miss that car.
Back in the 70’s when women wore stocking and pantyhose i used a pair of stockings off the owners wife to repair a car that broke its belt and they came to the garage i worked at at that time to get it replaced by a belt and the owner said he didn’t notice any difference between the belt and the pantyhose , good thinking outside of the box using the yarn. You are the man Tony and that was the nicest thing to do to an old car , for the owner!
I don't know why tires with white lettering make an old car look tough, but they just do. Great That you gave Tristan his hot rod back. Hopefully he learns a lot keeping it going.

You think that bolts funny I found kind of the same thing in this old 74 F100 the old man didn't have a fuse when he was hunting so he stuck a 22 bullet in it. When he returned home he forgot about it and some odd years later sold me the truck and when I was down there checking the fuses one day I stumbled upon it. Definitely was an interesting find.
You mentioned how heavy automatic transmissions are. I changed the 4L80E alone in my old k2500 a few times without a transmission jack. Back in my younger days. My most recent attempt required a jack. Google says 268lbs. The lifting part wasnt as difficult as getting the dowels lined up and a couple bellhousing bolts started then propping up the tailshaft. But aside from the new transmission jack, awesome video. I love the concept. You didn't have to do it but you gave Tristan his dream car. Keep up the great work, you're only one video away from losing the shop!
Some 550 cord, a d-ring, and a thick sock. Put the sock over your water bottle and wet it, and hang it out the window while moving, and you will have some cold water. Did this a lot in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Really cool that you're doing this. I just have to ask...why is the battery on the captain's side with the heavy cables running all the way across from the drinker's side? There's a big space right there where it could be in closer proximity to the alternator and starter!
I love how Tony has two driving modes. Leaned forward looping over the steering wheel like Grandma would or locked in just wide open. There is no in between.
I hope you fixed the neat neutral safety switch. I noticed it cranked in reverse in the shop. A city boy and no neutral safety switch is a recipe for disaster

A complete and very solid 53 Buick Special 4 door, 1979 Chrysler 300 Roller (and I have a 70k mile 5.2 Magnum with a 46rh to go with it). It’s the LAST muscle car of the 70s! I also have a 77 Dodge M880/W200 Truck that is a beast. I have a mildly built 318 ready to drop back in it. I’m trying to focus on my 73 Dodge D300 cab-on- chassis camper!

For the future. Don’t use maxlife on old transmissions. Use Valvolines cheaper option that’s in the blue jug. It’s merc 3 not 6 like maxlife.

I’ve done the electric fan dance on two different vehicles now….they suck! Get a fan shroud, and a mechanical fan.
Really cool that you're doing this. I just have to ask...why is the battery on the captain's side with the heavy cables running all the way across from the drinker's side? There's a big space right there where it could be in closer proximity to the alternator and starter!
I love how Tony has two driving modes. Leaned forward looping over the steering wheel like Grandma would or locked in just wide open. There is no in between.
I hope you fixed the neat neutral safety switch. I noticed it cranked in reverse in the shop. A city boy and no neutral safety switch is a recipe for disaster

I owned an collision and restoration shop for 29 years. Ive done similar things to help my customers over the years. Its a great thing to help others that can't do it or cant afford to do it if you're able to. 🤜🤛

A complete and very solid 53 Buick Special 4 door, 1979 Chrysler 300 Roller (and I have a 70k mile 5.2 Magnum with a 46rh to go with it). It’s the LAST muscle car of the 70s! I also have a 77 Dodge M880/W200 Truck that is a beast. I have a mildly built 318 ready to drop back in it. I’m trying to focus on my 73 Dodge D300 cab-on- chassis camper!
