After an accident like that, better the truck becomes an organ donor than the driver.
Sad to say, but that truck in a parts rig for sure.
4wd conversion anyone?
That's clever, I'll use it
I was one of the guys saying fix it, but 30 seconds into your video I was asking myself " Is that truck banana'd or is it just the camera angle". Thanks for doing this video.
yep didnt look that bad in pbg video
It was visibly bananad in PBG's video but not super easy to see if your not fixing stuff like this day in day out, theres even a buckle in the roof, the drivetrain might be salvageable, and some of the body parts
You are one of my favorite youtube people but the doctor let me know I don't have to live i got stage 4 cancer and it's spreading like crazy so just saying goodbye😢 hope you have a great life thanks
Jesus loves you !!! God bless !!!!
Turn to the Lord Jesus, ask Him into your life, Jesus is the only way to Heaven. With your mouth say" the Lord Jesus " and with your heart believe that God the Father raised Jesus from the dead on the 3rd day and you shall be saved. Turn to Jesus ❤.
I'm so sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis. Do you have family or friends around to help you? Is there anything we can do?
@rayeddy528 y'all both get a life 🤣 nobody cares about your re tard god😂😂😂
Im so sorry to hear that brother 🙏🙏
That's an older engine. TBI engines had 4 bolts in the center of the valve covers. The first gen TBI engines had a problem where the block was cracked under the intake. GM had a special policy to replace them IF the owner noticed coolant in the oil. I was a GM dealer mechanic for 52 years, now retired.
I saw you on PBG's inferno Goat video - you've earned another sub.
There’s some parts worth saving off that truck. Those axles are definitely worth saving along with the whole drivetrain. If you can’t use them someone else could so they’re worth selling.
That is now a donor truck. It will help others do truck stuff. Thank C/k-10, you saved 3 people.
she did her job, time to let her rest, and use the parts to keep another one running
REAL STEEL SAVES LIVES!
It saved his life, get him into something better again , keep this as a memory at the most, thumbs up, great video
Engine is definitely 86 or earlier(valve covers, intake bolt pattern, fuel pump block off).
Seat is from the next gen body style, a common swap.
Yes, with bent frame, cab, most sheet metal, & rusty bed, its parts only at this point.
I'd say trans could be iffy given the point of impact & frame stress, a common thing as well.
A shame, as it was a decent looking old truck.
That pin striped paint jobs sure did make them look classy. The Serra classic was the more high end GMC offered, I see it had electric windows and probably was about 12 to 14k in the showroom.
O hope you gave him a good deal .he seems to be a really nice guy.i hope you guys work together again .I really enjoyed the video.🙂
Stay tuned, there is interest in future collaboration!
Dee-troit Steel. First thing I look for in a vehicle.
That's a damn shame, that was a pretty decent old truck.
3:41 my guess, the oil cap popped off in the wreck, went forward, the spinning fan bent it like Beckham, full send into that corner
What a great walk-a-round Tim!!! Thanks 👍. I could actually see Mr. Good pliers putting this on his used car lot "slightly used" , and don't worry, it'll buff right out 😂!
Your opening shot from the right rear bedside, I immediately noticed that it's banana-ed bad!
Definitely a great parts truck for helping others live on!😎🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
VERY enjoyable Mr. Goodpliers, thank you 👍
Could the firewall be pushing on the valve cover so far it is binding the valve
I definitely was one of those "it can be saved" and sure it still can be saved but it would cost more than this one is worst. And there's plenty of square bodies out there that are more worth it
Those Chevys crack frames easily especially the k10's in multiple areas Stacey David did a video on it
This GMC saved lives - But can it be resurrected? Wrecked 1987 GMC 4x4 pickup Walk !Around & Start
I think it's an older engine. The valve covers have bolts around it instead of down the center on top, like my 87 tbi engine. I think the provision for mechanical fuel pump was removed in 89. I'm not sure.
Man, that thing got hit harder than I thought judging from Dalton’s video. I praise the Lord everyone was ok. Thanks for making the video I was curious to see more of the truck. Also found you from pole barn, and you’ve found yourself another subscriber!
Thanks for stopping by the channel!
Real steel saves lives.... anyone who has ever worked on these open C channel C/k trucks know they are flimsy as a banana peel from the time they are knew. They got lucky, the truck didnt save their lives.
Someone that has years experience in body shop can fix that 4x4 Chevy truck and save it
That was crazyyy,I live with certain "ethnic" people honestly they drive badd I have them next door very scary
87 wouldve had center bolt valve cover heads. Dead giveaway on it being an earlier engine
I'd save one of those trucks long before I'd save a brand new chevy truck. Squarebody was the last good GM.
Lol yall would put your own mother down for parts wouldn't you just save history it's really not hard it's not worth it for you not knowing how to do anything maybe just give it to someone who knows what they're doing
You wouldn't be happy either if you got hit buy a Semi truck
R.I.P. truck ... at least it can save other trucks after having saved Dalton's, JD's and Jim's lives ....
At least it was the only fatality in that crash.
Take it from the 50 year old who lived through it if you ever lose your insomnia you will miss it
At least I do
The hole truck can be fixed. If u know what u r doing.
I respect you didn't click bait the title.
All of us PBG fans recognize the truck immediately he didn't need to
I guess your idea of bad and my idea of bad is 2 dirrfernt things
Saddle dual fuel tanks outside the frame rails didn't work out so well... not sure about saving lives from GM design.
didnt explode like a pinto lol
Not the original engine. Also not a TBI engine. Doesn’t have TBI heads on it. You can see the valve covers are perimeter bolt. Just a quick 2 cents!
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍. Yes real steel , but ! I would try fix frame repair damage use as is ! If not a good parts truck ! 👀😎👍
Pull the valuable parts off it and scrap the rest
Spread some butter on it ‘cuz it’s TOAST….
Yeah just pull what's good out and scrap the rest she's toast
Are you going to Scottys Mecca auction this year?
The oil cap being off will cause a huge vacuum leak because of the pcv
It's really unfortunate that the semi driver was apparently not paying attention... I thought they were supposed to be professionals.
Off to the crusher for that one nothing worth saving
Parts model that be used for and shame got damaged!
they didn't need to wait to see if the truck insurance would take the truck?
it’s unfortunately not worth it..Parts truck
all that can be done is part out... frame is tacoed in a few places... with all the lower rust... if there were more left good, frame swap.. but no.. not this one...
I love classic vehicles and I am always hoping that rusted out vehicles, cars that been in an accident and vehicles with severe mechanical damage can be saved. But to those who think everything is savable, those are the same people who do not really work on cars. Like this car: It screams: Let me rest in peace. I own a once freshly restored65 Bonneville convertible. The owner happily drove it until a big truck pulled out in front. The blood on the brand new interior, the bent and cracked steerinng wheel were proof of the suffering the driver went through. He survived, but got half blind and crippled. I overpaid for the wreck that was buckled until the quarter pannel. But I used tons of parts to keep my other vehicles on the road. The interior, trim and many, many mechanical parts were donated. And there are still masses of good parts on it, a running engine, the trunk and the entire rear are perfect and wait for the moment to be used. This car did not die in vain and neighter does this one.
Theres a guy restoring an AAR Cuda that was basically a vin, dash, firewall, one frame rail and a few odds and ends sheet metal, the rest was rusted off, the gone panels are being replaced with new
I have seen better trucks crushed
Dalton
From .. Red Green show ..lol
... tis but a scratch.
If anything I’d take the whole right side for my 87😂
What right side there's no rocker no cab corner it's banana shaped in the middle maybe you could save the door and fender
That engine run like garbage when Dalton bought it and it had no power.
I believe the 'crush zone' campaign is B/S to cheap construction. A clue was that crash test late model chev against the 59 chev which has by far the worst American frame ever made I've ever seen, just more propaganda. Look at archive wreck pictures to see non deformed cabins common clear back to early 30s. The head punched windshields are evidence 3 point restraints are the first best safety device, I have them even in my prewar cars and all my cars have front disk brakes.
I got knocked into the back of a parked unoccupied late model same weight SUV in my square bird at 65 mph no time to hit the brakes. The SUV was crushed to the drivers seat. The square bird had no damage at the firewall and was savable. Square birds are especially strong because their heavy gauge inner fenders are seam welded to the frames and have very heavy bumpers. I didn't have a seat belt and only got a minor black eye from the padded dash and steering wheel was not damaged. I'd rather be the crusher than the full pop can.
That's for sure not the original tbi engine, the tbi engines have have center bolt valve covers and heads, appears to be a 83-86 Block
I kinda hoped the drive train can go into JD's future car/truck. He spent so much time on the roasted goat to get them home. The Ole square body kept him safe.
I think you may have a big vacuum leak. The manifold probably has a spread bore pattern and that edelbrock carb is square bore. You need a correct adapter. Just kind of guessing
I think it,s banana truck, twisted frame, it is spare parts, transmission, engine and some other stuff...
Recycle the the real steel save lives truck, thanks for sharing 👍💨💨
Dalton made no mention of an insurance claim, and that it was an expensive week. Was he uninsured or at fault somehow?
i know right should of went strate to doctor and sued the paints off that guy he tryed passing a turning truck in a simi you cant do that
I believe Dalton said it was a "no-fault" situation, so the truck driver will get away with hitting him. Which is complete BS
@@koolaid53i can kind of see it as even if he was signaling to turn he should of seen the truck was to close and not turned even tho he had right to as you shouldnt pass a turning car /truck
"Bendin with Bendon" will straighten er out! It's a really good channel too.
It's pretty well shot though.
I would bet the distributor cap got knocked out of position probably just enough that it’s causing the misfire. Probably just loosen the cap and spin it back into the correct position.
I did check that, all four spring loaded finger clamps were undisturbed and tight
If it were the original tbi engine the valve covers would have the 4 bolts in the center of the valve cover not on the edges, that’s an engine out of an older vehicle
I don't like side posts and I'll never use them they're junk if you water out the threads on it they're no good
Unless you got a car factory, this is a banana shaped parts truck...
87 is still a k series they didn't change that til 89
Wrong answer
Did you get my email about a 71-73 Impala
i have had so less work with the side post batteries. They didn't always have a standard 5/16 bolt head though. some were smaller.
the only problem I ever had was when the cable connections got hot, they warped the plasticized rubber around the connections pos and neg.
The mechanic cut them off to fix and actually has been the easiest connections to work with I have ever had.
If I had a choice I'd go side posts.
People in my town would drive it as is and say it’s fine 😆
If you could come up with a clean cab doors and frame and the Pole barn guys would come back and swap over all the parts and actually drive it back, that would make a good video and story...
Trucks at the point of drive train donation and yard art for remembrance
Yeah that truck is in some rough shape well thank you for sharing and thank you for the video
She be having the bendicitus yes... but the engine is knocked outta time by 0.38 or greater.
Looks like a banana. Parts only.
The 79 I had, had a bent frame ...... to be continued
Its not worth repairing but it would be good for parts
👍👍👍👍
In PBG video it didn’t look that bananaed so I hoped for the truck to live on good to know the mill is good atleast she’ll have a different body one day maybe
Good video
Oh come on! That will buff right out!
A Quiet Place
Nice to get the update.
Parts only
Not true on side post. The positive and negative can be reversed. And there won't be enough cable to reach them, they strip out, ther corroded to shit.
Truck is by far to far gone. Part it out.
Sadly, she's a good parts truck, and scrap the rest!
It's a good truck, save it.
Parts truck at this point
Jill Biden is not like Nancy Reagan.
What you see on the side is a Dodge A100 side panel?
Ford Econoline
It was wrecked in an ice storm and both the front and the rear subframes were bent. I parted it out and cut the side for Mystery Machine wall hangers
@@mr.goodpliers6988 Hello 👋 Thank you for responding! 👍
...you seriously started that thing without oil, first thing hearing that engine running ... that lower end sounds just great man ..😅
The oil level was between the dots on the stick. I noticed while editing that it sounded rattly in the video. I think it has more of a vacuum leak than anything
If that truck would have been hit where the gas tank sits outside the protection of the frame rails it would have very likely burst into flames and they’d be dead. These square body Chevy trucks were well known in the accident reconstruction business for the unsafe location of the fuel tank. Many of these trucks exploded into flames when t-boned because the unsafe location where GM mounted that fuel tank. In one court case the plaintiffs attorney brought out a copy of a 1930’s drawing and report about GM touting about how they mounted their fuel tanks in their trucks between the frame rails and way to the rear of the truck for safety reasons. GM knew about the problem just like Ford did with their Pinto but it would have cost them too much money to recall them and add a shield to protect the tank.
It'll buff out...or not.
You self-smarted yourself.
I need the one emblem that said Sierra classic
