You need to put an olds diesel in it😂😂😂
i actually happen to be wearing my C1ohhh shirt when i saw this video
I have a Big question
When will mook do more videos on her own channel?
i think the thunder head carb cheater also has an ignition lock. going to have to check out those high end Dizzys from progression.
"are you that pole grips digs guy?" 🤣🤣🤣
The depth of accuracy that joke had,😅
😂 I had to back it up and watch that part again 😂
More like the yard junk gigs guy. The porch label got me.
Ive been watching this channel through 4 years of college, 3 internships, and into the beginning of my career and its a certified banger every week.
After 9 days of editing to make this video, this is the comment I needed to see. Thank you😂
Oh yeah every junkyard digs videos amazing I started watching when they posted the rotary Snowmobile video and have been addicted ever since
Bro literally same.
6 years of my life has been spent watching calamity and shenanigans and not a single second of it I regret. Me and my mom used to watch JYD videos when they came out together we havent missed an episode since the f250!
I been watching for bout a 2 years and I must of passed y’all when you was going threw Nashville on hwy 41 I saw a bunch of old cars that day
Thank you for helping my boyfriend and his friend out when they were stranded. He has not stopped talking about how amazing you are since he got back😂
Which vehicle? 🤷♂️
@@RustyZipper Most likely the one at the beginning where he helped 2 fans at an AutoZone or whatever
I couldn't leave those guys stranded there! Glad they made it home safe 🤘
@@RustyZipperit was my buddy it was that red cat eye Chevy that you saw
@@JunkyardDigs thank you guys so much for helping my buddy out when he called me about it I was fan boying like crazy
I love how Kevin's yard looks like someone hosted a car show there and then just abandoned every vehicle. It looks like my grampa's house, except with less farm and commercial equipment. Thanks for the great content Kevin and Angus. 👍
the real hero here is angus's truck, saving everyone without breaking down once.
Yeah Ford
I love how the big pliers always make a re-appearance, bought as a joke and yet it saves people by being the universal tool. Keep up the awesome content! Can't wait to see more
Literally one of the most useful tools I own😂
@@JunkyardDigs Next up, doing a full revival with only the giant pliers lol should make for a decent intro
@@JunkyardDigs Puddin has a sign on the wall that states someting like, "Just because we have the correct tool for the job, doesn't mean we will use the tool correctly." Love the huge pliers/hammer/vise/AC belt tension tool.
@JunkyardDigs My dad bought a pair of those when I was young. Like back in the early 80s. Best tool ever!😂
That distributor is cool. It just needs a "fuck with thieves" setting, where it erratically provides spark so the engine coughs and spits but doesn't actually fire. Or fires for a second then dies. That appearance that it might run means the thief wastes more time trying to start it, and makes a bunch of extra noise to increase the chance of getting caught with no chance it will actually fire.
"Theft mode"
Only problem is if you don’t always have a reliable vehicle inevitably you’re gonna forget it in that mode and you’re gonna waste 45 minutes poking around trying to figure out what’s going on spraying breakclean in the carb, hating life. 😂 then finally remembered and feel like the biggest idiot.
Well thats why you hang a tag on the key that says theft mode, in that case. Personally i absolutely love the idea.@@8.6GivenAdqVacSysm
That and a new coil source/manufacturer
98 grand Cherokee has a theft prevention system that if you set the security alarm and don’t turn off with the fob, even with the regular key it will start for a few seconds then shut off.
Glad to see Mook back with Kevin being an iconic duo. Her channel has been inactive for about a year as of this comment. It was their joint shenanigans and how well they vibe with each other that got me into JYD to begin with.
I hope we see more of them together in the future and that Mook is able to make her own content as time permits.
You,mook, angus, and polebarngarage are the reason ive gotten back into working on cars
Great video and the CEE ONE OH did it’s job!
How do you get out of working on cars?? Please tell me!!😂😂😂
@@AaronSnyder-gx4uedo it for a living and you'll understand
They got me into working on stuff for fun
Me too I love watching polebarngarage and junkyard digs. And nnkh! NNKH does good videos and teaches alot too just as kevin and dalton do
Today, I saw you and Angus in Harbor Freight. I was in a hurry so I didn't say anything. But you guys have been a large inspiration for what I wanted to do in college. Keep up the good work!
Pretty darn nice store they got set up in ames now!!
@@JunkyardDigs that’s cool
Best Power Tour video of 2024. Great to see Mook back in the navigator's seat. Your crew driving three very different rigs is also noteworthy.
Haven't made it to PowerTour, not sure when I will. Clearly, it's an event worth checking out. What proved this to me is seeing the camaraderie that happens when a group of like-minded people from all over the country offer to help each other automatically, even gladly, when breakdowns invariably occur. That's the kind of thing that "they" want everyone to believe simply does not happen anymore. Obviously it does, in an organic and pure way, at PowerTour. Thanks again, Kevin and Mook.
It's nice to see mook. I miss her. I like you and Angus too. It's always fun.
Definitely need more Mook!
WTH happened to the Junkyard Mook channel? I haven't seen a new vid in ages!!!!
I like Mook!
Yes, mook is 🎉❤️💥

I must add that the customer service for Progression ignition is superb, I have a '69 Camaro with a 396 and the Progression distributor is the only piece of tech on it. I had an issue with the engine dying after I installed it, I called support and they just sent me a new one immediately. The new one has been running flawlessly for the past few years. You can squeeze a lot more timing out of it than a mechanical setup and it can adjust on the fly for different throttle positions and RPMs in addition to vacuum advance. They also make a small cap non-HEI version that looks almost stock on my 396.
For the window seals grab some baby shampoo, and add a couple DROPS of dawn to a spray bottle.
Its what we use to install tint, super slick stuff.
“Is it fixed?” “No, but it’s different!” That made me laugh 😂
happy I could help with the a/c work. it looks like the system works good.
I could have never pulled it off without you!!
That orange Cutlass is Demetrius, very good close family friend. One of the nicest and most humble people youll ever meet. We live 7 minutes away from national trails. This was our first power tour, and since my 80 Z28 we've had since i was 3 and a half wasn't ready, we took the plan B car with the AC. Everyone was incredibly nice except some new york people laughing because we didn't have the hot rod out.
To anyone wanting to do power tour, it's open to any make model and year of car. Don't worry about what you're driving. It's one of the most fun things you'll ever do
Kevin, Angus, Mook, thanks for making Friday Great Again!
The return of the C10OH LETS GO!!!!!!!
Okay, that progression ignition is badass. definitely looking into getting one for my dads FFR coupe. I absolutely love these long videos
Just buy an new coil to bring with you in the glove box. Pole barn garage also had one coil melt on his progression ignition.
Tom is a national treasure. He never fails to make me roll on the floor laughing!!!
Junkyard Digs is always worth the wait and the format is long which makes it more enjoyable. The very first video I saw of yours that got me into watching you was the one of you, Thunderhead289 and Dylan McCool all working together to get that old blue Ford pickup running that was hiding in the weeds on an abandoned farm. Which I think you eventually made into a two or three part series because it was hard for you guys to get a time do it where you were all together. Also Angus and Mook are total goofballs. :)
Thats the first one I remember watching too. I think I saw it like a year after it came out. Crazy to see how far Kevin's gone while still keeping with his style. I've seen a lot of channels go from "here's an hour long video of us working on a car" to "here's a 15 minute video of this crazy expensive engine, 5 mins of the video is of me putting it in the car and the next 10 is of me fucking around and blowing it up"
Like, don't get me wrong, those videos have their place, but man some of these channels just feel like a shell of their former selves when they get that big. And here we have Kevin, over a million subs later and he's still releasing hour+ long videos of him working on cars with his friends. I fucking love it
@@dakotareynolds3049 I think Kevin has stuck with the hour long segments because he see's we like that format the most. Especially since he doesn't post videos very frequently the quality can remain high. I would rather have one very long and high quality video once every two or three weeks over a bunch of smaller lesser videos weekly. The videos falling on a Friday or Saturday make them better.
What I also like is how the content has evolved from Kevin just finding a random rust-mobile sitting in the weeds for 30 years and getting it running. To sticking with that and adding a segment in explaining what he's doing, what the problem is, what caused the problem and what the fix might be all while getting the vehicle going.
Then add on him getting a random three wheeler or snowmobile running later on along with the abandoned farm equipment. All while keeping his original documentary style explanations of what the plan is for the machine of that episode.
I know enough about vehicles to fix minor problems and do routine maintenance but I am no mechanic and don't claim to be. I have vintage dirt bike projects I have yet to get around to working on. I don't have a shed or garage to work in so I tend to procrastinate when it comes to working on vehicles outside. I will get to them eventually. :)
@@Slane583 Yeah I'm glad he's doing what he's doing and in the way that he's doing it
@@dakotareynolds3049 Indeed. :)
I bought a 1979 Scottsdale C-10 in 1982. It had a 305 in it with headers and dual exhaust. It also had dual saddle tanks so it carried 40 gallons. Power steering dual tanks and power brakes. It had a Turbo 350 transmission. It had 66,000 miles on it when I bought it I put an additional 100,000 miles on it. I sold it in 1989 to a guy named Jack Daniels. At the time it was the nicest truck I had owned up until then.
I have been at the edge of my seat, checking your channel every day waiting for the new upload. I found your channel by accident, but it has helped me get into cars, and find a new thing that i really enjoy.
I just finished having rear end problems on my hotrod. My father picked up what were supposed to be a 4.11 open diff rear at a swap meet for our 9”. Threw them in and immediately upon rolling the car out it was clunking and clearly not set up right. Pulled them back out, checked and set them up properly and then back in. During the test drive it began chattering and only worsened as we drove so back out again. Preparing to throw the original 2.73s we had back in when my father called me over as he had figured something out. He had both axels in those supposed 4.11s making the realization that this was not an open diff but a limited slip. We did not use gear oil with the limited slip additive so there’s your chatter. Going further we learned that it was also a 3.50 rear end. Father scored a limited slip 3.50 rear and for $80. Works perfectly fine now with the proper additive lol.
I have started my Automotive Technologies Associates Degree at J-Tech in Jacksonville Florida, and I have you guys to thank! You, Mook, Angus, Tom, Phoenix, and the Pole Barn Crew! You guys have inspired me to become better than I ever have! I will keep you guys updated on the progress!
Awesome video!! Keep the shiny sides up and the wrenches turning!
Hampton.
My dad had a 1979 Chevrolet Cheyenne. He bought it new and it was orange with tan interior. I have a lot of memories in that truck as a kid.
I cannot get enough JD content. I love this show. I've learned a hell of a lot.
I'm glad Angus is a permanent part of the channel. He compliments the goings on almost as good as Mook.
It's like being there with you guys every single year! Thank you so much for the time you put into filming and editing these for us
That clip of the diff was insane😂
WoW, I've blown a few rear carriers but damn.
Did it have gear oil. ?
Always a good day when you post. Thanks for the awesome videos! Just drove this route on Wednesday to get home from Des Moines after a work trip.
I'm not an expert on home security, but just as a bit of advice to Angus that I've picked up, don't plant the SimpliSafe yard sign in front of your house. The number one piece of advice I consistently hear from home security experts is to not plant a yard sign, as that is basically an advertisement of your security system's vulnerabilities, and a serious or experienced burglar will know how to get past it. It's a method referred to in the IT industry as security through obscurity.
No signs in yard. When they hear Shack shack. In your house. They shit themselves 😉
No signs. The Shack Shack they hear when they in your perimeter should be enough...
No wireless cameras or sensors either. They're so easily defeated, it's embarrassing.
As someone in IT Security, Security through obscurity is shit. It doesn't work, it's not a viable solution to anything. Security through obscurity is frowned upon in IT Security for a very good reason. So please don't fall for it and do it properly. A sign in the garden what security system you are using still isn't a very good idea though.
Agreed, had to do it for the vid quick
@junkyard digs and pole barn garage yall two I love watching because you two go in details how engines and the history of vehicles are and I want to thank you kevin @junkyard digs and dalton @ pole barn garage for helping me to be a better mechanic. I can't stop learning from you two.
Man... I grew up and heard stories of my dad doing fun stuff in his trans ams, chevelles, gto's... pintos... but we never had money when I came around to do much and I had to learn how to work on cars as a necessity. I'm no mechanic, but I can shadetree whatever I need and learn what's needed to survive and get by. In another life, y'all would have been the best friends I'd turn a wrench for and loan any car, tool, beer, or smartass line I could give. In this life, if I ever meet you... I hope to give yall a hug, a high five, and get one of those sweet shirts... JunkYard Diggs AND "I NEED A HUGe beer" LOL. Angus is the best addition.
I'm gonna be honest, I was kind of hoping the sunscreen sharpie thing didn't work. Woulda been a good laugh. Another great video regardless! Appreciate everyone involved in your vids!
I was kind of hoping so too, but I'll be damned if it didn't take Kevin's penis right off.
It's worked since I was 13!
52:22 I agree, ARE you alright?!?!?!? sounds like your soul left your body 😆
Just fort the record, I really love that Angus is a permanent fixture on this chanel. Made me smile to see Phoenix and Tom in this one too. You have a great cast!!! 😏
I wrote this half way through the video LOL. Nice to see the other guys and MOOK!!!
In 2000, I had a nice little bike, a Kawasaki 454LTD, and one day a really nice-looking pickup rolled up beside me in traffic. I looked at him, he looked at me, we grinned, and without any plans (on my part at least), we hit 85 in a 35 down 15th Ave in Longview Washington. I was shfting at 9k through all six gears, and this insane little pickup was right there next to my knee the whole time!!! I put him in the hole by half a bike length off the line, and he never moved off my knee the whole way to the next light.
I'd never even heard of a Syclone before then, much less seen one. Absolutely insane little trucks!!!! Neat seeing one here!
Good to see y'all having fun. Good to see Mook.
17:26 could have put some gold leaf on the welds to make it look like the Japanese art style called Kintsugi for fixing broken pottery with gold.
15th-Century practice of kintsugi, meaning “to join with gold”, is a reminder to stay optimistic when things fall apart and to celebrate the flaws and missteps of life.
JYD is one of the best channels on TH-cam! As a Ford guy, I’ll even watch a Chevy being wrenched on. That says something about how great this channel is! 😀Appreciate the detailed instruction and cast of characters.
This video makes me feel better about my C10 and the constant battle to keep him daily driving. He tests my patience. Glad you guys had a blast on Power Tour.
It makes me happy to see Mook she's so cool love y'all ❣️❤️
Best content on TH-cam.
so old school tip for plugging a hole in a gas tank or oil pan thats actively leaking. go get a candle, bar of soap, or a crayon, and mash it into the leak hole until the leak stops. then clean all around it with brake cleaner so its super clean, mash more waxy stuff into the hole,, and then get either jb-kwik or my favorite steelit, and mash it over the waxy plug you made, big wide area. Works fast, works well, and holds forever. Done that more times than I can remember. Never had it fail.
I’ve been watching since I was in highschool, it was great to meet y’all in Indy. Real class act here folks, genuine great people.
It’s funny how over the course of this whole trip it seems like Angus has had no problems whatsoever so he’s just riding along with the chaos
That is absolutely correct
Love this truck. I collect diecast squarebodies and I've got one of this exact same year, trim and color. Thanks for some great Friday evening entertainment.

With that distributor, it sucks when your phone dies (when locked), haha...

I want to thank you for sharing the awesome car guy side of power tour ...I've never done a power tour but having travelled with groups of people to Vw events I have needed and also given help along the way and it's awesome to connect with new friends in this shared hobby...a friend of mine once broke a throttle cable on his '71 bug at an ice cream shop we all stopped at on a cruise and the guy running the cruise was amazed to see two guys from New Hampshire me from New Brunswick and two guys from Nova Scotia working together to get him up and running again and my friend who is not mechanically inclined was so grateful...looking forward to your next adventure...Karl from eastern Canada
That distributor is insane. It’s good to see a channel that is bridging the gap between traditional engine control (mechanical dist) and the ECUs that are in all cars today. I’m with all the old school all mechanical engine controls but that dist is good stuff.

I think it's about time you get your self a 69 mustang and a restoration series on it . The channel is big enough and it will help it grow even bigger. With all the love from middle east ❤
I use your videos as a coping mechanism and distraction to having my wife leave me. Thank you for the amazing content. And thanks for the hours worth of laughter through all your videos. I've binge watched all your videos in about 2 weeks.
Kevin: "It's been a couple hours, as you can see the entire underside of the truck has been coated with rust-oleum rust stopper primer."
Me: "In the color of rust." 🤣
I love your videos Kevin. Never stop never stopping my friend!
Still love how In depth u go into to teach everybody about the intricacies on how everything works and goes together instead of just throwing things together like a lot of other yt car videos
I blew a Dana 44 up on my Jeep while rock crawling not too long ago. Fricken thing just decided it didn't want to live on this planet anymore and went kaboom (actually it was more of a slight 'ping' and a "hm, what was that I wonder?) Instead of rebuilding it like you guys did, I just got a junkyard 9" and threw ARB air lockers in front and rear (it had Yukon before). Mine wasn't blown up as spectacularly as yours was, but I did learn the hard way that 4.88 gearing with a 4.7l stroker, 35" tires, and lockers will kill anything if you get it stuck between 2 boulders and then lay on the gas... fun times.
Seeing you and meeting you in my town was wild. I am so happy I got to meet you and CarsandCameras at beech bend. Thanks for the shirt and stickers man! I made it into the vid XDD

2010...speaking of getting lost. We were I think somewhere around Chattanooga headed to Coker, and I wound up getting behind a local. Next thing, 25 power tour folks following some local to a BBQ joint LOL He was like "Hey I'm not on tour, but good BBQ here!" so we made a bunch of new friends for the day and got some great BBQ. One of the great things about Powertour.
You never cease to amaze me with your projects. Thank you & hope you had a blast on power tour. You keep this old man entertained with outstanding videos.
It was nice meeting y'all on power tour and having dinner with y'all. I did donuts in the one parking lot because nobody wanted to hold the back end of the suburban up so donuts was the answer 😂. I still have to edit my footage. On the way to the last three events the diff cover started leaking very bad and I had to keep topping it off and then the last hr home my radio goes out. But it was a blast. Hope to bring the Crown Vic next time. Keep up the great work y'all.
