The Online Piano and Violin Tutor Thank you for letting me be able to start my journey of playing my violin.I seen this a long time ago but I only just got a violin so now I can finally play! Again, thank you so much.
Thank You Allison. I have two violins now. I was so glad to find your beginners tutorials. I'm taking it slow. Maybe too slow or too fast. I fell in love with playing the violin a couple weeks ago.

Hello, I’m 36 and decided I wanted to learn how to play the violin with my four-year-old daughter and I wanted to say thank you so much for giving of your knowledge and sharing your talent!! I’m so excited to watch all your videos!!!!
Last week, I mentioned to my boyfriend, that it had always been a childhood dream to learn to play the violin. The very next day, we took an hour drive to go pick up one he found for me! She's a beautiful, pearl white, electric, custom designed, left handed violin (I'm left handed) that the owner sold us for $75, this amazing woman, whom played in orchestras, unfortunately had arthritis keeping her from being able to play anymore. Now at 32, I'm very excited to finally be able to make this dream a reality. Thanks to amazing people/artists like you! ❤
im 34 yrs old i just ordered my first violin i will be watching your videos to learn how. i plan to keep it a secret from my fiance and kids. and i want to learn and surprise my family on the day we get married. i hope i purchased the right stuff.
this is great news! I plan to purchase my first one as well, you and I are about same age. I pray this bolds well for you, I believe it shall be a blessing of great proportions. Hope to hear great things from this surprise. God bless.

When I grow up I want to be as cool as Lindsey ........... hahahahaha ............. lol ...........

It was my dream as a child to play a violin. Now im 20 years old and my boyfriend bought it for me. I dont have any idea on playing it at all or even tuning it. But i remember in the past that i always watch your videos even though i cant understand english well back then. Im so happy to found your video again. I was a kid back then
I'm 29 and bought a violin back in february and am learning how to play all over again!! I can't wait until it becomes natural again!!! #FavoriteInstrument
**I'm honestly in love with violin so, I'm gonna buy one next spring** 💘🎻 *I just love it, I swear and I mean it 😩😭 thank you so much for putting so much of effort to make this video*
I'm 68. I play ukulele, but have never even touched a violin. I always loved the sound and find myself watching violinist whenever I go to the symphony. Well a neighbor just gave me a violin. Not an expensive one, just s starter. She asked if I thought I'd like to try it. I said sure! She said if I didn't take to it, to pass it on to someone else. So I'm going to give it a go. I went to the music store to pick up some rosin as the rosin looks really old, and a better case, one that actually closes. The music store guy plays and told me to give myself 6 weeks before giving up and passing it on. Honestly I was thinking 6 months! Wish me luck.
Ohh. Thank u very very very much. After MONTHS of saving up for a violin I have finally bought it! Unfortunately I cannot afford lessons(I'm 14) so ur videos are a godsend. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
I'm getting a violin tomorrow :) found a good quality used one for a good price. I've been playing piano for 9 years and wanted to try something new, gonna try teaching myself with these videos. Wish me luck! :)
It’s 2022 and I just started watching this. I know there is an updated lessons but wanted to go through these older videos first :) Thank you and I hope everything is well with you and family!
teachers do teach me... but the skills are not that remarkable... so i start finding tutorials... i giv up litterarly... my shoulder hurt so much and my fingers are soo uncomfortable(too short)
Kevin15047 you need to experiment to find whats comfortable to you. Perhaps you are not holding it in the correct place and the violin is not up and on your shoulder enough - many people have the violin practically in front of them, where it should be out to the side. Experiment with cloths and shoulder rests also.
The Online Piano and Violin Tutor I use a shoulder rest about half the time. I'm holding it right (at least I'm fairly certain). I think it's just something that my body needs time to get used to.
Acullty.. I play the violin.. Like actually take lessons but I came to TH-cam for extra help and here is no compfortable way to hold the violin. If it's comfortable your holding it the wrong way
Oh I know. I have been playing for a month and it has gotten very comfortable. But I want to say something to the teacher. You shouldn't start out with the bow. You should start with plucking. It helps a lot
I turned 22 today and recieved a violin after wanting one since I was a child. The journey begins now and I couldn't be more thankful for you videos lovely!
Im so happy, my violin will come tomorrow. My mom bought me it because i have no meaning in my life. And having passion with music and sending out my emotiones with the violin will give me more meaning. I look forward to it so much!!
I just got a violin today, and I'm so excited! Was worried I wouldn't be able to find good tutorials on how to hold, tune, maintain, or play the violin, I've never been more happy to be wrong. You rock!
Thank you! Just a quick note - these video lessons are no longer in use and these are incomplete as they are around 10 years old now. The better ones are linked underneath this video.
Brilliant video. 57 years old, children all moved out and have always wanted to play the violin but as not musical, avoided lessons. This has inspired me to buy a violin and start. X
I'm watching this even if I don't have a violin. I'm planning to buy one tho. I'm already 24 years old and it has been my childhood dream to play this instrument. I hope it's not too late to learn.
I've always wanted to play the violin. So I've just ordered one from amazon and I'm so excited to begin. You're awesome to put these lessons online. Thank you very much! I'm going to be tracking the shipping, and I can hardly wait. It's 55 minutes until the new year 2015 where I live in Arizona, USA, Happy New Year everyone, and learning the violin is not my new year's resolution, it is my new life resolution! I'm 53 years old, I have a grown son with autism and he's afraid to leave our home. So I have to be with him, and I have plenty, plenty of time. Once again, thank you so much for putting these lessons online.
Marcella Jones I ordered the Mendini 4/4 MV200 Solid Wood Natural Varnish Violin with Hard Case, Shoulder Rest, Bow, Rosin and Extra Strings (Full Size). It's one of the ones recommended here, and has good reviews on Amazon, and on sale right now for $64.99. :)
Beverly Benjamin ha, I just ordered the same today on Amazon at that price, starter kit, but I ordered the pink violin. I cant wait, its been my long time dream to play. 😊
Hi Beverly. I am 55 and like you, have always wanted to play the violin! I even bought a beginners DVD at goodwill and kept it for several years before finally getting my violin. Now I have it, and I love it! It has been tough, but I am tenacious. I hope to follow your progress here, I am only on lesson 5 and working on exercise 2. Almost got it down, but still trying to figure out my arm position. Ugh!
I started with your learn to play Twinkle Twinkle in under an hour video (which worked and I am an absolute beginner with my newly rented violin today). I moved on to these videos just to get some foundational learning before I start actual lessons (at age 40 mind you). I really appreciate your style of teaching. My 20 y/old son plays guitar and has since he was 4 (a natural) and my only goal is to play a few songs with him for fun. Thank you!
I’m going to take my first violin tomorrow, since childhood I’ve always wanted to play but just now with almost 23 I’m going to finally start to learn, making my dreams come true ❤️🎻
I just got my violin a few days ago! I am super excited to learn this new hobby. Hopefully waiting until I'm 35 won't hinder me too much. Your video was the first one that popped up and I have been watching it over and over for positioning and proper holding of the bow. Thank you!
Please note: these lessons videos are very old and are incomplete, so they now no longer in use. These (below) are the newer ones with the complete course which you need to be following to replace this video: ‘1-30 Violin Course’ free videos: bit.ly/2jjeCfX ‘1-30 Violin Course books: bit.ly/2V3MPle
This was so very thorough. Thank you so much. At first I was wondering what else you would talk about (since the video is about 12 minutes) but you stayed on topic. You're very good at explaining; your students are fortunate. I'm yet to buy a violin. I'm trying to learn as much as I can in the meantime.
I haven’t played the violin since high school so it’s been about 6 years. My best friend wants me to play Turning Page for their wedding when the time comes. I got a few years to re learn and practice. Thanks for your tutorials. They’re gonna help me immensely
As a person who is in the middle of learning guitar and doesn't even own a violin, I really enjoyed watching this! That's one of the most beautiful instruments in my opinion
Thank you so much !! I’m a 15 year old classical piano player and I’ve always loved violin I just don’t know where to start and there’s no lessons around me so I appreciate this!
I didn't just enjoy, I loved it. Beautiful teaching. Not every professional player can teach this good. I literally remember everything you said. Cheers.
Throwback to 2 years ago when I first picked up my violin, I used to watch your useful videos and was struggling with basic stuff like any beginner. And now I am practicing harmonics in Czardas piece.
I've wanted to learn the violin since I was little, just never had the resources or money. I'm hoping to get a violin soon and start learning :) This video is very helpful, I'll definitely watch all of your vids when I get my violin.

So many of us in the same boat. I'm a musician and almost EVERYONE I meet in life tell me that they wish their parents pushed them harder to keep learning! but, it's never too late to pick it up again, ya know!? ;)
I just bought a violin yesterday. I wanted to learn it so badly, after seeing the joy it gives you. I took the first 4 lessons yesterday itself. And I'm practicing and will go on to the 5th lesson until I get good enough. Will I be able to learn all about it watching videos? I just have this doubt ma'am. You are splendid. But I have self doubts.
Yes. I wouldn’t have bothered making videos and writing books if it wasn’t going to work. It won’t get you to master or professional level but high enough for you to be happy. I can’t speak for any other videos, lessons or books though - only mine.

Wish me luck! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 I just subscribed.
I’ve always loved the violin ever since I was little but in middle school I choose to be in band instead of orchestra. I still kinda regret not ever learning how to play the violin so I think I’m gonna get one learn myself and I hope your videos will help me!
myfull namea Me too! I wish I would've kept playing but I remember telling my teacher that I started practicing at home for 2 hours and she was like, "What for? You're not going to be a professional?" I didn't plan on being a professional but just wanted to know how to play it well enough. Violin classes are pricey too and I think my mother noticed she wasn't teaching me much so she took me out.
I’ve had a violin for years. When I was in fifth grade, I quit because my orchestra teacher made us memorize the songs not HOW to play them. She made me feel like it was an obligation. But I’ve grown more interest in it again lol
I purchased one for about $50 on Amazon so I could take lessons. Turned out to be a good violin and my instructor only recommended upgrading the strings.
Thank you very much! I'm 47, and have always wanted to learn the violin. You're making that possible for me (as I travel often and can't actually go and take lessons.) Thank you!

How are you doing after 2 years? I just started to play the violin
It was my dream as a child to play a violin. Now im 20 years old and my boyfriend bought it for me. I dont have any idea on playing it at all or even tuning it. But i remember in the past that i always watch your videos even though i cant understand english well back then. Im so happy to found your video again. I was a kid back then
Nice! It's never too late!!! wishing you the best for your musical journey!
I'm 29 and bought a violin back in february and am learning how to play all over again!! I can't wait until it becomes natural again!!!

**I'm honestly in love with violin so, I'm gonna buy one next spring** 💘🎻
*I just love it, I swear and I mean it 😩😭 thank you so much for putting so much of effort to make this video*
Kim Jisoo Same here!
update pls, how are u doing with the violin?
I'm doing the same myself after 28 years of piano!
Even if it's difficult to learn all by yourself don't give up! Keep going!
It’s 2022 and I just started watching this. I know there is an updated lessons but wanted to go through these older videos first :) Thank you and I hope everything is well with you and family!
I really really want to learn how to use a violin.
Same! since a teacher is too expensive for me atm I'm teaching myself! so far so good :)
teachers do teach me... but the skills are not that remarkable... so i start finding tutorials... i giv up litterarly... my shoulder hurt so much and my fingers are soo uncomfortable(too short)
CoCoisCollete sounds like you haven't found a teacher who is expert in technique and solving physical problems
This is actually helping me a lot my dad is buying me a violin and I wanna learn the basics thanks so much 😭🥺
I've come to the conclusion that the violin was never built for comfort.
If it's comfortable your holding it the wrong way
jessica wiehoff I've been playing violin for 5 years. At first, it is not very comfortable, but if you do it right, you get used to it pretty quickly
I came here because Sherlock made it look easy
saME-
Anakin Skywalker WOW OK I CAME HERE BC I WANT TO PLAY WHO YOU REALLY ARE
This is very much adequate🥴
A MOOD
Because it's fake-
Im so happy, my violin will come tomorrow. My mom bought me it because i have no meaning in my life. And having passion with music and sending out my emotiones with the violin will give me more meaning. I look forward to it so much!!
How is it going with the learning?
I hope it's not too late to learn.
i’m half your age and wanting to learn
Beverly, im am trying to decide which one to order would you mind telling me which one you decided to get?
Marcella Jones I ordered the Mendini 4/4 MV200 Solid Wood Natural Varnish Violin with Hard Case, Shoulder Rest, Bow, Rosin and Extra Strings (Full Size). It's one of the ones recommended here, and has good reviews on Amazon, and on sale right now for $64.99. :)
Beverly Benjamin ha, I just ordered the same today on Amazon at that price, starter kit, but I ordered the pink violin. I cant wait, its been my long time dream to play. 😊
Denise W I have received mine, and I feel like I am all thumbs. :)
Ugh!
Who else is watching this for no reason?
My dream jobs: Robotics
My brain: *How to Play violin*
Me: No
My brain: *DO IT*
Well yes but I’m going to get a violin tomorrow so both
@@traceywright3511 wow how is it? Haha

She also happens to be the prettiest violin and piano tutor on TH-cam lol
I started with your learn to play Twinkle Twinkle in under an hour video (which worked and I am an absolute beginner with my newly rented violin today). I moved on to these videos just to get some foundational learning before I start actual lessons (at age 40 mind you). I really appreciate your style of teaching. My 20 y/old son plays guitar and has since he was 4 (a natural) and my only goal is to play a few songs with him for fun. Thank you!
I’m going to take my first violin tomorrow, since childhood I’ve always wanted to play but just now with almost 23 I’m going to finally start to learn, making my dreams come true ❤️🎻
how’d it go?
Omg sameeeeee
I just got my violin a few days ago! I am super excited to learn this new hobby. Hopefully waiting until I'm 35 won't hinder me too much. Your video was the first one that popped up and I have been watching it over and over for positioning and proper holding of the bow. Thank you!
Please note: these lessons videos are very old and are incomplete, so they now no longer in use.
These (below) are the newer ones with the complete course which you need to be following to replace this video:
‘1-30 Violin Course’ free videos: bit.ly/2jjeCfX
‘1-30 Violin Course books: bit.ly/2V3MPle
This was so very thorough. Thank you so much. At first I was wondering what else you would talk about (since the video is about 12 minutes) but you stayed on topic. You're very good at explaining; your students are fortunate.
I'm yet to buy a violin. I'm trying to learn as much as I can in the meantime.
27 years old never had a day of practice and bought my first violin. Just got it for fun and you are a god send thanks.
Cheers.
What a service you are providing with these videos. Thank you very much.

@@MoonlightNothing i have a question. How do you adapt to the advancement of technology today? Like using smartphone or using the computer and browsing the net?
So many of us in the same boat. I'm a musician and almost EVERYONE I meet in life tell me that they wish their parents pushed them harder to keep learning! but, it's never too late to pick it up again, ya know!? ;)
omg i’m 19 and sameeee i used to play in grade 3 and i was so good i’m so sad now aahhhhh
It's never too late. I'm almost 40 ;)
OMG this is so much better than that Kendall Mcguire, this is what you call a professional violinist
My violin just came in today and I’m so excited to learn
Ayush Pandey are you still learning?
How’s it going?

i didnt like my teacher which is why i quit
myfull namea Me too!
Amber Luna don't ever see that she gets to you. A teacher that limits their students is not a good teacher.
OMG, meeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Today I’m ordering my first violin!! Wish me luck!
I’m so excited to learn!! Thank you for having these classes 🥺❤️

I am soooo thankful for this
My cousin got me a violin for my birthday and no one I know plays violin. This is so helpful during Covid!
I’ve had a violin for years. When I was in fifth grade, I quit because my orchestra teacher made us memorize the songs not HOW to play them. She made me feel like it was an obligation. But I’ve grown more interest in it again lol
I don't even have a violin :'(
Erika García nor do I 😢😢😢😢
